    KQuote plays audio quotes based on chat messages from other KQuote- or WoWQuote-Users.


    IMPORTANT
    You need to install the KQuote addon and at least one media addon!
    (See the 'Optional Files' section for media packages.)


    KQuote is based on WoWQuote by Lev@Die Ewige Wacht and Harag@Die Ewige Wacht. Many thanks to both of them!

    KQuote introduces some new features over WoWQuote (v0.x):
    • English Localization
      KQuote has an english localization. (Most of the actual quotes are still German only. Visit the official website to see how you can build your own media add-ons.)
    • Mute
      Use /kqm to mute KQuote. Typing /kqm a second time will re-enable playback. This setting is not remembered after logout.
      You may assign a key to this function, using WoW's Options – Key Bindings dialog.
    • Tags
      Instead of a single category for a quote KQuote uses tags. The difference is that a quote may have multiple tags assigned to it.
    • Search Field
      There's a text input field in the upper right of the KQuote window. Entering a search term will filter the quote list to only display quotes that contain that term. This does work in combination with the tag pop up.
    • Quick Search
      Adding a search term at the end of the /kq command will insert that term into the window's search field. /kq -t <tag> will select the corresponding entry in the tag pop up menu.
    • Separate Media AddOns
      With KQuote the actual media data was moved to separate add-ons. So those can be added and updated independently.

    Changes since 1.3

    If a broker display is installed, adds a KQuote button to quickly open the main window or the options panel.

    Option to automatically mute audio when in fight.
    Either when you are a) alone b) in a party c) in a raid or d) in a battlegroup.
    You can also choose which channels to mute.
    a) Guild, Officers and Whisper
    b) Say, Yell
    c) Party, Raid and Battlegroup

    This should avoid guildies annoying your raid during encounters. ;)
    - live update when typing in search field
    - added mute button to main window
    - added standard options panel (ESC - Interface -AddOns - KQuote)
    - added support for whisper and yell channels

    Audio output for whisper and yell are disabled by default.
    Open the options panel (/kqopt) and check the appropriate entries to enable them.

    To whisper a quote using the UI, you need to target the player first.
    Or you can use the command line:
    /kqw player quote-ID

    Note: Spamming the yell channel will likely result in a lot of ignores and maybe a spam complaint. You have been warned. ;)

    I don't plan on doing that.
    First, this will only work in a small subset of channels. No say, no officers, no yell ...
    Second, for me the quotes are part of the conversation. If people without the addon can't see anything, they are left out completely.
    Third, I couldn't find a way to post the messages to the correct part of the chat (i.e. officers channel, guild channel etc.) and I don't like half baked solutions.

    If people take offense of the quotes, maybe you should stop spamming them.
    Also there's always the ignore list.
