shNameplates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: r9.2
by: shUI [More]

shNameplates
A light-weight and beautiful nameplate addon that works right out of the box!

Why use this addon instead of some of the other famous nameplates? Simple: elegance, ease of use, and efficiency. Other addons similar to shNameplates are extremely "busy" or they are too plain. In some cases, they are highly inefficient when it comes to coding.
  • Unit Name
  • Raid Icon
  • Unit Level (using blizzard code to add difficulty coloring)
  • PvE coloring (blizzard based) and PvP coloring (class colored based)
  • Aggro and threat color (with glow overlay)
  • Castbar, Cast Time, and Spell Icon
  • Health Text Display (using color gradient for percentage)
  • Auto toggle on and off when in or out of combat (user set via config.lua)
  • Lots of config attributes that handle nameplate behavior, colors, fonts, and positioning (user set via config.lua)
  • Configuration that allows repositioning of the spell and raid icons (user set via config.lua)
  • Configuration option for TANKMODE (green coloring on aggro) and namecoloring (colors pvp enemy names with their class color) (user set via config.lua - PLEASE see changelog for more details)
  • Target cast spell names (for both channeled and cast)
  • Mouse over highlighting
  • Cool new fade in effects when nameplates appear
  • Target Unit POWER bar under health frame. SET TO ONLY IN PVP (b/c who cares about mob power at this point in the game)
  • COMBO points for feral and rogues...AND addition of showing Chi, burning embers, soul shards, holy power, burning embers, etc. (SELF buffs ony)
  • Now works with Icicle and/or Plate Buffs

NOTE: I want to thank the following authors: Caelian, Tekkub, Luzz, and Rothar. Especially Caelian, b/c I have based this addon to his famous addon caelNameplates

I didnt know what addon caused the problem/bug for me. Last step was deleting everything and reinstall the whole game. Yeh it worked, so i choosed to use just around 5 addons next time. And guess what... the last addon i activated was this here, and the same Bug happened again!

So... im really pissed, and not interested in downloading/reinstalling everything again. Why the fuck does a addon such stupid shit to a Game, srsly.

I hope there is an Answer to fix this shit without reinstalling the whole Game.

If its not the Addons fault, then okay, but there actually no other option which could done that to my Game. Maybe problem with other Addons, and all these Addons doing this shit together?

I used, bindpad, shnameplates, mapster, tip tac omnicc and oUF. But oUF wasnt installed before shnameplates.

It's definitely not the addons fault and let me tell you why. First off, the addon using hooksecure functions to add extra functionality to the blizzard code. Secondly, all the addon does is replace fonts, statusbars, set colors, and sets locations...period. So before you rant like a little child and complain about an addon messing up your entire game, learn to do a bit more research.

Good luck.

Love the nameplates.

Do you think you could add totem support? I want to be able to see my totems with icons above them for which totem it is. ex: If I drop flametongue totem it would show the flametongue totem icon above it. Would also love it more if I could show them + enemy nameplates only. cause I generally only use enemy nameplates.

Thanks!

You definitely can, by going into the BLIZZARD interface options and turn on "Color Class Nameplates". I will probably be adding the hard coded change in the next release with an option for that. But you can def do it now.

I love the look of this addon, I just need a better way to tell which mobs I have threat on and which I don't. Thank you.

edit: I would absolutely love this addon if I could make plates I have threat on show in green and ones I don't have threat on show up with the default reddish color, or the other way around.
Hmmm...that's something to think about. Right now, the ones you have threat on show a red outline, yellow outline if you are HIGH on threat, and just gray if you don't have threat. Let me work with this for awhile and check out the next update.

Unfortunately, the only way to change the overlapping is to set the config.lua option for that behavior and typing /console ReloadUI() in game. You do not have to shut the game off and restart, just reloading the UI will read the lua file again with the changes

Hey bud, it's really easy to not let them overlap. If you look in the config.lua file...there is a behavior option section. Check it out, I am not sure which setting it is, but I have a very detailed information comment next to each option. Check it out and let me know if you need more help

@Hamiltonzth: thanks bud for the compliments!

@Kiirsten: you can definitely change the color of the "hostile" creatures to just pure red by doing the following:

replace line 137 with this:
Code:
newr, newg, newb = 1, 0, 0
replace line 138 with this:
Code:
self.healthBar:SetStatusBarColor(1, 0, 0)
That should work! If it doesn't let me know. Also, if you want to change hostile color anything else, just get the hex color percentages and replace those three numbers with the color of your choosing. I might be adding an option like that in a future update.
