TomTomLite  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v50100-1.0.0
by: Cladhaire [More]
TomTomLite is a lighter version of TomTom that provides some of the same features with no backwards compatibility. Redesigned from the ground up to work better with WoW's mapping API, this will enable me to make changes and add features more rapidly.

Currently the addon displays three types of waypoints: quest objectives and turn-ins, corpse location, and archaeology dig sites.

If you die, the corpse arrow will take priority, and if you have no quests being tracked and are on a continent with archaeology dig sites, these will be displayed instead.

Waypoint sources can be enabled/disabled using the following slash commands:

/tt sources - lists the sources
/tt source <source name> - enable or disable the given source

The arrow can be moved by alt-clicking it, and if you'd like to change the scale of the arrow you can do this by using alt-mousewheel.

Is it possible to make the text less verbose?

Or at least round coordinates/distance to integers?

It doesn't seem like the proximity sort is actually working.. I'm definitely within 20 yards of the waypoint for one quest and its still showing me the other. Not sure why that is, but it does make my life somewhat more complicated. I'll see what I can do.

Sorry, guess I should have stated that I have tried that. Yes, sort quest is set to proximity. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the addon.

I am not worried about the placement of the arrow on the screen, but yes I did see how to move it.

Have you read the addon description? Both of your questions are answered there..

You need to set your objective tracker sort to "Proximity". You can move the arrow by alt-clicking.

arrow always pointing to the furthest objective

The arrow in the middle of the play screen always points to the furthest quest objective. So as I get closer to the one that it is pointing too it will adjust to point to the next farthest one away. Is there someway to correct this?

TomTomLite does not have that functionality. It's what it is, as is =)

Integration with WowPro

I recently downloaded the 'lite' version. I've used the regular version ever since I started playing. I also recently discovered WowPro and have started using it. One thing the old version of TT did was allow me to click the map coords in the WowPro quest display (or the coords in the Blizz Quest Log) and it would change the direction of the TT arrow. Lite doesn't seem to have this capability or perhaps I'm not doing something correctly. Or maybe it's a problem with my install. I was wondering if that is the way the lite version is supposed to work.

Thanks

would be very nice with a command switch for displaying it, making it much more useful when you want to see it or not

When your world map is not in the zone where the quest is (and where you are) then TomTomLite is unable to get the information about the quest objectives. In short, if you are not in the zone where the quest has objectives, TomTomLite will not show any objective waypoints.

This is an optimisation, since otherwise I would be forced to examine every single sub-map of a continent in order to find every single quest objective that could possibly have coordinates and then work to find out which one is closest. Trust me, neither of us wants that.

When there is no objective waypoint, the archaeology dig site waypoints are able to be displayed (they are lower priority). This is the expected behaviour.

edit: I'm noticing the waypoint sometimes jumps around while viewing my map. Right now I'm duplicating this consistently by viewing the map, then zooming out to world view. When I do that, the waypoint immediately jumps. It corrects when I close the map again.
Changing the World Map drastically affects TomTomLite's ability to find out where you are accurately, and determine the distance and location to the waypoints. What you are describing indicates a of some sort, but the short answer is that *any* mapping addon can only determine information for the map that is being displayed on the world map. This isn't our fault, its a limitation of Blizzard's mapping system.
