KuiNameplates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 243
by: Kesava [More]

More up to date versions can often be found on Curse.
Please try using that version before reporting a bug.

Prettier, pixel-perfect nameplates with auras. Configurable through interface options (open with /knp or /kuinameplates)
.

Class colours on hostile players can be enabled in the default interface options, under "Names" - check "Class Colors in Nameplates" at the bottom right.

If you're having issues with nameplates being in incorrect locations or being unclickable, first try unchecking the "Fix aliasing" option in configuration.

Current features:

  • All of the default nameplate features
  • Pixel perfect!
  • Auras!
  • Combo points
  • Tank mode - recolour health bars when you have threat (enable by checking "Enable tank mode" in options)
  • Customisable display of health for friendly or enemy units
  • Pretty fading in/out of frames (disable by unchecking "Smoothly fade" in options)
  • Automatic toggling of nameplates when you enter or exit combat (enable by checking "Auto toggle in combat" in options)
  • Cast & incoming healing warnings, useful for PVP (disabled by default, check "Show cast warnings" in options)
  • Configuration profiles
Health display patterns:
The text to display for health on different frames is determined by two simple patterns: one for friendly frames and one for neutral and hostile frames. These patterns can be changed in the options dialog (/knp). They must make use of specific conditions and results, in the following format:
condition1:result1;condition2:result2;condition3:result3;
There must be at least one condition (and one result). Any other conditions are optional.

Possible conditions are:
"=" When the unit is at maximum health...
"<" When the unit's health is less than maximum...
"=<" When the unit's health is either less than maximum or at maximum...
Possible results are:
"m" ... Display their maximum health (i.e. 123.4k).
"d" ... Display their health deficit (i.e. -46.5k).
"p" ... Display their health percentage.
"c" ... Display their current health (i.e. 76.9k).
"b" ... Display nothing.
The patterns used by default are:
Friendly units: =:m;<:d;
Which means:
When the unit is at maximum health:Display their maximum health;
When they're below maximum health:Display their health deficit;
Hostile units: <:p;
Which means:
When the unit is below maximum health:Display their health percentage;
Planned features:
  • Frame blacklisting
  • Stuff I can't remember

243
* fix issue where auras were not updated on mouseover frames
* fix an issue where auras and other such things would sometimes appear on the wrong frame
* add support for combo points' anticipation stacks
* change colouration of the addons' titles, so that they don't break alphabetic sorting on the addon list
* bump TOC

Re: Combat issue

Ah, I forgot to fix the handler which loads the saved setting for that when I moved config into groups. It'll be fixed in 1.7.1.

Combat issue

Hi! Thank you so much for your work on this addon. I love it!

I am, however, having an issue with the combat toggle feature. It's not saving, for some reason. I am using /knp gen combat, which ends up just disabling it. So, after I use that command again to enable it, it works fine. But later on, after logging out or restarting etc, the settings don't stick. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

I don't really see what it would be besides a config problem since it works on your hunter. Try /knp reset on your paladin. Config's stored per character so make sure you enable it for each one you want it on.

.. could also just be a bug of course. Haven't seen it myself though.

On my Prot Paladin there is no thread glowing nor Barcolour changing.
No matter what i do.

Downloaded latest upload.
Extract to interface/Addons.
Start Game
/knp tank toggle
/reload

nothing

changing glowcolour or toggle on/off nothing change

EDIT: Ok tested with a fresh Interface and no other Addons.
On my Tank Paladin still no changes at all. Tested on my 80 Hunter and works fine -.-

I know there's a problem with the cast bar being behind the main frame's glow at the moment which obviously doesn't help now that it's grey. I'll play around when I get the chance, see if it's better. And I'll add an option for colour next release.

Any chance you can tell me what file and lines of code to edit to change the cast bar color - empty and full/filling? I don't mind where it is or how it works at all, its just that I can barely see it.

Re: Threat not displaying

Config changed and you might have a remnant from an old version, though I tried to make sure that wouldn't happen. Some settings are in groups now and tankmode is its own group.

Run: /knp reset
Then: /knp tank toggle

That should enable it. If not, then you could try deleting Kui and Kui_Nameplates from your addons folder and redownloading, but other than that, I don't know why it wouldn't work - it definitely does with the latest upload.

Threat not displaying

I'm attempt to get the bar to recolor on threat gain, however it's not working.

I have the tank option enabled and have relogged/reloaded UI many times.

That's a good point. I'll get one up.

I believe it does, in the same way that the default UI does. I can't remember how that is exactly but I know there's no text stating how long it's been delayed, or things like that. At the moment cast bars are just a reskin from the default plates. I'll be changing that at some point so that it supports cast bars on untargetted units, so I'll be able to improve handling of delays at the same time.

Nice work with this.

Can I suggest you add a screenshot of what the nameplates look like when you have a target selected who is casting a spell - as I was very interested in that before I downloaded for example.

Question: Does the cast bar shown take into account knock back additional cast time? If so, how?

Thanks.

Eh, completely forgot to push the fix for that. Thanks. Localised to some situation where config is reset I believe.

Kui_Nameplates\slash.lua:88: attempt to index upvalue 'config' (a nil value)
Kui_Nameplates\layout.lua:28: in main chunk

Re: Skull icon?

I'll play around with adding a graphic, I tend to prefer text however. Admittedly "??b" is a bit redundant, so I'll definitely change that at least.

A little delay...
Will be fixed in the next release (after 001.6.1). Not sure how I didn't notice that before really..

Hello. I have downloaded your addon, it is beautiful, but there is a problem. He does not show the names of the frames .. What to do?
Can you provide a screenshot? Also make sure you're not loading any other nameplate addons at the same time. It might also be to do with your localisation, if the font isn't working correctly for it.

A little delay for percent show on nameplates, when the target health 80% the nameplate show 81%, I compare it with my target unitframe.
