Prettier, pixel-perfect nameplates with auras. Configurable through interface options (open with /knp or /kuinameplates).

Class colours on hostile players can be enabled in the default interface options, under "Names" - check "Class Colors in Nameplates" at the bottom right.

If you're having issues with nameplates being in incorrect locations or being unclickable, first try unchecking the "Fix aliasing" option in configuration.

More up to date versions can often be found on Curse. Please try using that version before reporting a bug.

Current features:

  • All of the default nameplate features
  • Pixel perfect!
  • Auras!
  • Combo points
  • Tank mode - recolour health bars when you have threat (enable by checking "Enable tank mode" in options)
  • Customisable display of health for friendly or enemy units
  • Pretty fading in/out of frames (disable by unchecking "Smoothly fade" in options)
  • Automatic toggling of nameplates when you enter or exit combat (enable by checking "Auto toggle in combat" in options)
  • Cast & incoming healing warnings, useful for PVP (disabled by default, check "Show cast warnings" in options)
  • Configuration profiles
Health display patterns:
The text to display for health on different frames is determined by two simple patterns: one for friendly frames and one for neutral and hostile frames. These patterns can be changed in the options dialog (/knp). They must make use of specific conditions and results, in the following format:
condition1:result1;condition2:result2;condition3:result3;
There must be at least one condition (and one result). Any other conditions are optional.

Possible conditions are:
"=" When the unit is at maximum health...
"<" When the unit's health is less than maximum...
"=<" When the unit's health is either less than maximum or at maximum...
Possible results are:
"m" ... Display their maximum health (i.e. 123.4k).
"d" ... Display their health deficit (i.e. -46.5k).
"p" ... Display their health percentage.
"c" ... Display their current health (i.e. 76.9k).
"b" ... Display nothing.
The patterns used by default are:
Friendly units: =:m;<:d;
Which means:
When the unit is at maximum health:Display their maximum health;
When they're below maximum health:Display their health deficit;
Hostile units: <:p;
Which means:
When the unit is below maximum health:Display their health percentage;
Planned features:
  • Frame blacklisting
  • Stuff I can't remember

Weird. Tried it again and it seems to work on some classes in PvP. For instance hunters. :s

Probably something wrong with my setup somehow.

Hey again!

Sorry to say that I still can't get Auras to work fully. I've installed Kui_Nameplates_Auras and it works fine with NPC's. But when I PvP it doesn't seem to work at all. Is this intended or is it something I've missed to enable?

Yep, shouldn't be difficult to add. At the moment I believe the threat glow changes colour to orange when you're losing threat, but I can add an option to customize that and expand it to the health bar too.

It looks like it might be trying to set the font to something which doesn't exist anymore, so if using the most recent version doesn't help you can also try using a different profile (with the default settings) or resetting your profile in /knp > expand "Kui Nameplates" in the addon list > click "Profiles".

Hi,

Would you consider adding a "Transition" state to the Threat plates ?

When tanking with these plates, knowing that you are "losing aggro" of a mob is quite useful, and is currently the only thing i can see missing in these quite awesome nameplates (coming from Tukui/elvui)

it would be something like :

Aggro = Green
normal = red
Losing threat/gaining threat = yellow

The auras module is provided by a seperate addon (included in this download), "Kui Nameplates Auras". Make sure that it's enabled in your addon list as well as the core addon. Then if the module itself isn't already enabled, you can enable it by going to the Kui Nameplates options frame (/knp) > Auras and checking the "Show my auras" option.

Secondly; I guess I must have missed something, but how in the world do you enable so that Auras? I guess it doesn't have anything to do with me playing a Warrior?

You can change the width by editing line 23 and 25 of core.lua. However the size of the click-box won't change, and it may be buggy; I haven't actually tested changing the width. So where line 23 is this by default:
width = 110,
You could change 110 to, say, 55 to halve the width. Just remember to keep the comma at the end of the line.

That's the shadow, or glow. Or something. It's supposed to be there and there's no option to disable it. I should probably add one, though.
For now you can get rid of it (when it's not being used for the threat glow) by changing line 100 of layout.lua from:
r, g, b = 0, 0, 0
to:
r,g,b,a=0,0,0,0
That -should- make it invisible.

Is there any way I can adjust the width of the nameplate?

I find nameplates to be little too wide for me..

is there any option that I can change the width of the nameplate?




Here is an example.

I am used to using DocNameplate style nameplates, but after using 15 mb heavy weight nameplates for 2 years, I really want to use something light weight and has essential features.

But, I really want to use something that is not as 'wide' as most nameplates. (I tired other name plates that comes with adjustable width, but they were really clunky and not as good as yours =/...and I really don't wanna go back to NPA. )

Hi Kesava,

I use kuinameplates since 1 year and It's the best nameplates addon by far ! Thanks !

A little suggestion about your new auras feature, it would be awesome for pvp purposes if we could add auras from other classes too using their spellID and if possible customize their sizes like an addon that is no longer maintained named platebuffs that looked like that :



For example on this screenshot, the warrior just used avatar & recklessness and the auras appear above his nameplate. If kuinameplates could do something like that it would be the best xmas I ever had !
