Features:
  • skin buffs/debuffs
  • move buffs/debuffs
  • change colors, texures, and font
  • able to use class colors (with support for !ClassColors and CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS)
  • change size of buffs/debuffs independently
  • debuff icons are shaded by debuff type (temporary enchant icons shaded tench color, too)
  • change the number of buffs per row
  • able to switch to all white duration text
  • option to show who your buff is from (only works with valid unitIDs, not some random passerby or guildie not in your party)

Limitations:
These are just the regular, old Blizzard buffs - but prettier! As such, you CAN cancel buffs during combat! However, you cannot rearrange the buffs, filter buffs, etc. The buffs/debuffs are also not movable independently - it's the standard layout, though you can change their sizes to make debuffs more visible in addition to changing where they're all anchored.

Also, the timer bar does not currently move for temporary enchants - it stays at 1. I may figure out a way to put that in in the future, but the API for temporary enchants isn't as friendly as that for normal buffs.

Compatibility with TitanPanel?

The addon is having an issue with TitanPanel, causing TitanPanel not to display. Any idea what could be causing this? Here's the dump:

v0.2.1 with the vehicle fix....taints and prevents the standard Blizzard icon bars from reappearing after getting out of a (certain) vehicle.

WoW 4.0.6 live. After getting out of the "Rebel Cannon" vehicle at the end of the By Blood and Ash quest, tainting was alerted to, ended up with a 300kb+ taint.log file after exiting and importantly, the default Blizzard icon bars failed to reappear. Had to relog to get them back.

Unfortunately, as is often the case, the taint.log file entries were not particularly clear. Example for this case:

ShinyBuffs is only mentioned at the end of the first string. So why am I so sure that its actually ShinyBuffs causing the problem and not FixModSounds? Because the Furbish buff replacement mod created the identical problem a few quests earlier with more direct taint.log entries.

The earlier quest where something tainted and the Blizzard icon bars did not come back after dismounting from a vehicle: Save Krennan Aranas. The taint.log entries there:

Both ShinyBuffs & that mod are doing essentially the same thing (modifying/replacing the default Blizzard buffs), so identical taint problems in very similar circumstances points to both mods having issues. After the problem with Furbish, I disabled it, enabled ShinyBuffs and encountered the subsequent problem.

Hope it can be fixed.

Regarding the font-overlapping-the-timer-bar problem I brought up before, it unfortunately happens with a good proportion of the fonts available via LibSharedMedia. Took a while before finally finding one that did not overlap the bar: "Collegiate".

As so many fonts have that problem (that can't be fixed by resizing, as mentioned in the original post), maybe reposition the default location of the fonts higher up the Y axis inside the buff icons?

One more font positioning issue: all the ones I've tried (including Collegiate above that is one of the few that does not overlap the timer bar) are positioned so that the "m" & "s" letters are "pushed" up against the right side of the icons. Which leaves a large blank space to the left of the numbers and is thus disproportional. It doesn't look good.

Could the fonts also be repositioned to be more centered within the icons?

Ditto for the temporary weapon enchant. Having it grouped up with the buffs is messing with the spacing.

Really nice add-on, I like the look of it a lot.

My only question is - is there any chance in the future that you can make the debuff window separate from the buff window so it can be moved? Would make this buff add-on pretty much perfect.

Sorry I missed this. You posted while I was out of town. Didn't even notice it. (This is another reason why I always request that bug reports go to my portal. )

It seems that wowprogramming.com is out of date on this. Found the updated API and should have it corrected in the next version.

I'm pretty sure that I was able to cancel buffs in combat the last time I tried. Did you try with all other addons disabled?

Can't cancel buffs in fight

Hi, I'm new to this addon. The look and feeling of this addon is wonderful. However, just in the recent nef's fight, I pop righteous fury to pull the adds in P1, and then I'm unable to right click to cancel the buff. Any idea what should I do to solve the problem?

BTW, sry for my poor english writing.

No, it's entirely possible to move them to the top left. There are only the limitations to consider, as stated in the addon description.

Love the addon and it fits in very well with my UI, so thanks for creating it.

As a side note, in case the notifications don't work properly (I know I've had issues with them before) I've posted a bug report for an error. It appears to only occur when "mounted" and you receive a debuff, details in the bug report.

The duration text is supposed to overlap a touch. With the various fonts that I have tried, at default settings (even with the font shadows), I can see the bar fine. Perhaps try a different font (some have the numbers set below the letters) or a different font size? I have some changes coming in the future with regards to the text.
