    This addon mutes the annoying sounds of WoW. Please read the installation instructions below!
    v3.3 mutes 2803 sounds.

    Requests
    If you would like to make a request for a sound to be added please post in the comments below and be specific. If it's a class spell sound, try find a video where the sound can be heard, include the time in your comment.
    If you are requesting a creature please include the name of the creature that uses the sounds!


    Basic list of muted sounds
    - Kovok from Dread Wastes and the rest of his kind.
    - Common mechanical units, creatures and mounts: Including the Goblin Trike, Chopper, MechaStrider, Flying Machine and Rocket Mount sounds
    - Pets with looping or often played sounds: Lil'XT, Smoky, Singing Sunflower, Perky Pug & Thor to name a few.
    - All train emote and worgen sniff sounds.
    - Tyraels Charger Sounds: - All sounds including the ambient loop.
    - Biological and Misc Mount sounds: Includes Quilen, Onyx Panther, Mammoth, Saber, Horse, Undead Horse, Fossilized Raptor, Celestial Steed, Chicken, Bear, Elekk, Ram, Hawkstrider, Winged Guardian and Broom Stick sounds. This also removes all wingflap noises.
    - Hunter attacks and pet sounds: Gunshot, Wasp Wings, Monkey, Core Hounds (Including the giant footstep sounds).
    - Waterfall, River and Fountain sounds: This is mainly for fountains (especially those in stormwind!).
    - Various Class Spell sounds: Things like rogues FoK, deathknight/warlock/paladin mount spells, path of frost, mage armor, hunters pet call, shaman elemental shields.
    - Elemental creature loop sounds: Mage water elemental pets and shaman fire & earth totems.
    - Elemental and Revenant Fire aggro and death sounds: These sounds are spammed in the firelands daily hub area.
    - City sounds: Orgrimmar, Darnassus, Stormwind & Ironforge clock sounds and a few looping ambience sounds.
    - Event sounds: Headless Horseman Speech, Rhonin & Kalecgos City Speech, Brewfest mole machine, Midsummer bonfire buffs, Fireworks.
    - Battleground sounds
    -- Alterac Valley:     Herald trumpet sounds
    -- Warsong Gulch: Start, Victory & Defeat sounds.
    -- Arathi Basin: "Faction Near Victory" sound.
    -- Strand of the Ancients: Victory/Defeat sound.
    - Tradeskill sounds: Alchemy, Leatherworking, Engineering, Blacksmithing, Tailoring and Jewelcrafting sounds.
    - Other Misc sounds: Dismount, Piccolo of the Flaming Fire, Instance Portal, Toy Train Set & more.

    Installation
    Extract the "Sound" folder to your World of Warcraft>Data folder.
    To uninstall simply delete the Sound folder.
    To unmute specific sounds, delete both the .ogg & .wav versions of the files, if you have trouble finding a specific sound, post in the comments.

    There are .ogg and .wav versions of each sound as some sounds can only be muted by one type, since there is no way to know which one without going in game and testing each individual sound I have simply included both regardless.

    Pocko again with an edit: Okay, so my quick fix does NOT work... The lava sound loop is muted entering the area (so it kinda works), but as soon as a spell that has a looping sound like holy radiance is used... the Ragnaros sound loop ensues bypassing the new sound folder stuff altogether...GRRR! I don't really understand it.

    Well. If the list you posted is what you named the files.

    "FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_01.ogg
    FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_02.wav
    FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_03.ogg
    FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_04.wav
    FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_01.ogg
    FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_02.wav
    FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_03.ogg
    FX_Firelands_BrazierFlame_04.wav"

    You have the file types wrong. You need an .ogg and .wav version for each file.

    Try adding these.
    Data\\Sound\\Ambience\\Water\\LavaPoolLoop
    Data\\Sound\\Ambience\\Water\\LavaStreamLoop

    Create .ogg and .wav versions for both of those.
    These sounds will have some problems though, while moving these sounds will "mute" other sounds (like casting, boss speech and select ability sounds). I have no idea why it does it but it started happening around 4.1 and there is no way to fix it.

    Most of the sounds in the doodad and emitters folder have this problem.

    First off I really enjoy this addon but ever since I updated my OS to windows 7 I can no longer get this to work. I am moving it in to the right file folder and every thing but it just doesn't work at all. Any Idea what I could do to fix this?

    I have two questions.

    First, can we get the wing flap and idle(there's a feint fiery crackling sound when idle on the ground) sounds for the new fire hawk mounts in firelands? God are they annoying. I've tried looking through the mpq's to find them, but my skill is lacking. Is there a trick to finding them that I don't know? I tried searching the listfile for things like mount or hawk.

    Secondly, and I'm not sure why, but blocking sounds like this seems to interfere with other sounds. For instance, I have wow instant messenger set to play a sound every time I get a new whisper. Previously, it worked every time. Now, it sporadically misses sounds. And it happens more often when I'm in a populated area. I'm assuming there's nothing that can be done except trim the number of sounds I'm blocking, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

    Previously I was blocking only Mimiron's head. And even when idle, in the air, it would not interfere. So I'm at a loss as to explain it.

    1. Ill try find them. At first glance these are probably the wingflaps sounds. I wont be able to test them for a couple days though.

    2. Its the Emitters and Doodad folder causing it. It started around 4.1, I don't know why it does it and it probably cannot be fixed. A few of the ambient looping sounds (like lava, fires, braziers, bonfires etc) cause it and only while you are moving.
    Out of curiosity, what OS you running? So far I know its been happening to Win7/Vista users. If you use one of those you could try running WoW in compatibility mode with XP, otherwise remove the doodad and emitters folder and check if it still happens.

    Those were definitely the wing flapping files, in hindsight, I probably should have been able to find those, but I didnt. And the mount shares the summon and takeoff sounds with other mounts.

    All that's left is that fiery crackling sound. I searched the mpq files today for fire and listened to all of them. A few were close, but blocking them revealed they were not the right ones. So I'm unsure as where to look for the right sound.

    As for the random sound muting, I think I came to the same conclusion you did. I tried to narrow down exactly which sounds might be causing the problem, but I think there are several, and because it's kind of random, could take days to fully figure out. So I gave up and decided to use only a select few that are super annoying.

    It seems like every week, my game would crash right after Garr in Molten Core. I rename the Sound folder and usually works fine.

    I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this. Here is the error log.
