ElvUI Chat Hover Hyperlinks
Version: 1.4
by: Lockslap [More]
This AddOn requires ElvUI.

When hovering over links in a chat frame the tooltip will be shown, rather than having to click.

Notes
  • Clicking the link will open the tooltip like normal.
  • I am adding a slash command to toggle the hovering. Removed in version 1.4.
  • May use settings DB to save whether enabled or disabled, along with disable in combat. Not sure yet!
  • Any questions or concerns can be put in the comments or at adam@lockslap.com.
  • I like pie.

Based on functionality in TipTac by Aezay.
2011-06-17 Version 1.4
  • A MORE permanent fix has been found for the item comparison tooltips.
  • The AddOn will now hook the tooltips, instead of setting them outright, which should fix the problem with item comparison. Hence why the ability to disable the hovering was removed.

2011-06-07 Version 1.3
  • A permanent fix has been found for the item comparison tooltips.

2011-06-05 Version 1.2
  • Temporary fix for the tooltip overlap when doing item comparison.

2011-05-30 Version 1.1
  • Added chat command to toggle hovering.

2011-05-28 Version 1.0
  • Initial Release

That was one of the ones I tested and it worked as expected.

I finally figured out how to fix the comparison tooltips properly. It should be working as intended now. Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

I'll have a look and see what I can come up with.

EDIT
After some more investigation its not that the tooltips are stacked on each other, its that ElvUI is trying to put the compare tooltips on the right side of the main tooltip, which given that ElvUI's default location for the tooltip anchor is on the right, can't happen, and as such they appear to be stacking on each other.

EDIT #2
I have added a temporary fix, while not ideal, it does work IF the tooltip anchor is in the default location (right side of the screen).

Can you post a screenshot? I'm not getting any overlap issues.

EDIT #2
Forgot I was using TipTac, and not ElvUI's built in. Gonna have a look and see what I can come up with.
