I can't test it in a real party right now but it seems to work with the test script, are you sure it isn't just disabled for being out of date?

If you have "load out of date addons" checked and it still isn't working then I'll need to see if they changed something with player names but otherwise it just needs its version updated.

I was wondering if I should leave an indicator that the person talking is on another realm, like an asterisk.

I also don't think (and can't test) that battlenet messages are modified. While I was sorting out the anatomy of a player hyperlink it looked like they were slightly different. So I don't forget this later, I think the only difference is "|Hplayer" is changed to "|HBNplayer".

The main reason I didn't implement that was because it was mentioned that you might possibly care about realm names in real ID chats back in this thread.

Thanks for the feedback, it's difficult to prepare for every eventuality.

This would have been so much easier if I didn't need to keep the realm name in the link for click-whispering to work.

Let me know if I've broken something else. As long as an addon doesn't try and put something after the hyphen in a player link it should display correctly.

I've tried to make it as robust as possible.

Would you mind typing /framestack, hover over the name in chat and list any frame names that show up in the tooltip? You can leave out UIParent, WorldFrame and anything that starts with "table:".

It shouldn't even need to be one that has a realm in it.

Actually scratch that, I think I know why it's not working. I'm looking at prat and my pattern isn't going to match player links with all these color strings, and for some reason the opening bracket isn't inside the player link in prat.

I'll make the pattern more robust and update.
