Due to mikeb being busy i am looking for someone who can do a darnell voice.

The one who can best sound like darnell will be the new voice to keep this mod alive.

I could do one but it has an australian accent... Which isnt the best since we know darnell doesnt have an aussie accent. So let the samples come in so we can get darnellify 1.2 up and running.

Just so you know, Darnellify 1.2 is totally fully coded and ready to roll, but it needs sound files. At some stage, if I don't get any volunteers who can do a good Darnell, well, I'm just going to abandoned the project.

I wish MikeB wasn't busy and able to complete the rest of the sounds, but it looks like it isn't going to happen, so I'm turning to the community here. If you want 1.2, well I need a sound-a-like.

G'day Miraelf, thanks for letting me know about that. That was meant to be turned off because well, a) Mike hasn't done a voice for it yet. Supposed to be something funny, the 'Ding!' sound was just a temporary one to make sure it did work... and b) There is no on and off switch for that option in v1.1.

I must have left the switch 'on' accidentally when messing around with something. I am uploading Darnellify v1.1e which has the 'Ding!' turned off when talking with quest givers and handing quests in.

You are right, it is obnoxious. It wasn't meant to be heard just yet lol. The ''aim'' is that Darnell will randomly say various things to the quest giver when accepting the quests and randomly say other things when turning in the quests.... and definitely not 'Ding!'.

All the coding is completely finished for the update. Meaning, Darnellify 1.2 is ready for shipping.

But for months now, I'm still waiting on MikeB.

DARNELLIFY 1.2 TEASER POSTER:

Well... it was technically the first official version we did up to test out and play around with, but then got really concerned with the TOS for WoW and copyrights and so on... so we pulled it to address those concerns. Did not realise Curse cache their stuff even if deleted and the Client links to that stuff.

At least that is all sorted for now. And thank you again for letting us know. At least now, the version people download via Curse Client will give them instructions to this website. That said, we are trying to get Curse to link to WoWInterface to get this version. Still waiting on that to happen but I know it is possible for them to do as they have done it with other add-ons.

There is a TON of new stuff to come. Reading through these comments, they kind of read like a dev blog of sorts lol. All the coding for the new stuff is done and ready. Whether it all makes it in to the next version is up to how much MikeB is able to voice out in one hit. Meaning, as you can imagine, doing a voice can get tiresome, so he may only get x amount of it done. If and when that happens, I'll get a 1.2 uploaded with what ever is completed and just disable the other options until say, 1.3 or whatever... I'm sure you get what I mean.

I'm still taking requests and coding them up, even if they don't make it in to the next version.

Okay, I've actually uploaded a BLANK file to Curse called Darnellify 1.01

It has nothing.
It does nothing.
So now hopefully if Curse Client finds a match and downloads it, you get nothing and thus are forced to come to the official version here on WoW Interface.

I have contacted Wishfire on Curse and spoke about the issue at hand.

The whole point to the original version being removed is due to copyrights on the mp3 music files.

We'll see how this pans out. Thanks for reporting it and letting me know.

It seems, that even though I have deleted the project and the file from Curse, the Curse Client is still grabbing the non-existent old file and downloading it for people.

I just tested it out.

I've contacted Curse to see what can be done about this.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention Alexavis. No one 'should' be able to download the original v1.0 Darnellify.

There should be no Curse Client version.
The one that was originally uploaded to Curse, pre-released was deleted and should not be available for download.

The 'riding on a bird' is the version it should be. The other version was deleted due to copyright claims on the music.

The music does play when you hover over the version here, you just have to wait as there is a delay since Darnell does not begin singing straight away.

You can add your own music replacing the mp3 files until we get some music for the Disco Cub that is.
