SMQueue

We are now updated for 5.0.4, and should be stable! Please let me know. SMQueue was re-written from the ground up and seems to be performing quite a bit better, as I learn more from grdn (author of iQueue) about LUA code and World of Warcraft. Stay tuned!

Description

SMQueue is a small LDB-plugin that was created to keep track of queue times when queueing. It is intended to replace eQueue and be a viable alternative to iQueue. It is a work-in-progress, and is based somewhat on iQueue and eQueue, but includes some additional features.

Requirements

As stated above, SMQueue is a LDB-plugin, which means you will need to have an LDB display AddOn of some sort in order to make use of it. **Otherwise it will not function.** My favorite LDB display AddOn is [[http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/bazooka|Bazooka]], although there are others out there!

Features
  • Hooks the mouse-over tooltip and displays it on the LDB button instead of the Minimap button (which is hidden). Updated: Also allows display of custom tootlip.
  • Has options to mark the tank, send chat messages on dungeon arrival/leaving, leave party after loot is distributed (with confirmation).
  • Has option to sound an alarm at max volume (no matter what current volume is set to) when LFD/LFR proposal is displayed, and flash the screen.
  • Will display time waited of time estimated for selected queue (cycle thru them by left-clicking the LDB buton at any time). Due to the way MoP/5.0.4 changed queues to be able to queue for all things at once, this is the way I have chosen to still show time text. If anyone has a better suggestion or idea, please let me know! Updated: Also allows auto-selecting of queue when only in ONE queue, and only displaying queues that are being used.

Known-Issues

SMQueue is stable, however, there are a few things here and there that are not working quite the way I intend for them to do so. Any issues of this nature will be listed/explained here:
  • PVP support is now available, although I am not necessarily qualified to test it, as I don't PvP too often. As far as I am aware, tracking World PvP basically disappeared with MoP/5.0.4 but if anyone can better explain this or has a resolution please let me know!
  • Occasionally for some reason, the code that checks for the looting and dungeon completion bugs and the event fires early or doesn't fire at all. This seems to happen far and few between, and the code is sound as far as I can tell, I have been using the same procedures to determine the loot cycle for a while, so I am unsure what the problem is.

Reporting Bugs / Feature Requests

Please use the ticketing system for major bugs or issues. If you would like to make a suggestion for a feature, or something similar, post a comment on the page. Thanks!

Slash Commands & Options

You can reach SMQueue's in-game options by going the usual route through Interface Options or using the slash command: /SMQ.
Version 1.6:
  • Took away Auto Select and Show Active options and made them the default behavior of the addon.
  • Added ability to display filled roles (i.e. THD) in LDB text instead of time waited / estimated wait time.
  • Small code optimization.
  • Pet Battles are still unsupported, Blizzard API isn't documented yet, and I haven't figured it out :D

Fantastic. I've downloaded and installed the latest, but won't be able to test till tonight. The only thing I've done so far is load up the game and look at the options.

Looks like everything is auto checked to on now vs before nothing was checked but everything fired, lol.

I still seem to have an issue with the LDB Datafeed staying where I want it. I'm using Bazooka for the LDB display. It starts off default in Bar1 on the top right location. I manually move it to Bar2 far left. Do a quick /console reloadui, and it's back to the default Bar1 top right position. In addition, nothing gets written to bazooka.lua in the WTF folder that mentions SMQueue. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Some slight additional info... I had the same issue with iWait/iQueue's LDB Datafeed. I had to manually take the information stored in Bazooka's WTF file and edit the location and what info was shown.

I'll let you know what I find tonight when I get to run some dungeons. Unfortunately work gets in the way of fun, lol.

And another suggestion. Is it possible to make the Queue alarm sound changeable? Maybe by using SharedMedia? Truth be told, the first time the alarm klaxon went off I damn near jumped out of my chair, lol.
I uploaded a few changes, mainly the bug fixes, some icon changes when switching displayed queues, and better use of the _G global variable. Anywho, check it out. You seem to be my loyal customer for the time being

Just tried out the new version and everything is working great. I've only had time to check out the queue timer and click interface so far. I'll get into actual groups in a bit.

On another note, for some reason I haven't been able to make the LDB feed stay in the location I've chosen for it. It always seems to default back to the top right bar no matter what I do or where I place it. I'm using Bazooka Bars for the display. In addition, even though SMQueue's LDB shows in game, no data about positioning seems to get written to bazooka.lua in the WTF folder. I'm not sure why. Any suggestions or thoughts?

And of course, Thank you for the very quick update and for SMQueue itself. Very much appreciated.

I appreciate the constructive criticism. I wasn't quite finished with it when I released the 5.0.4 version, I was just trying to get it out there because a few people have been asking about it and I have been in and out of school the last two months and working alot trying to make ends meet, and was un-able to do alot of testing and coding. I just released version 1.3a which has a new help tooltip that tells what does what (note: you will only see the "help tooltip" when you are not in queue, else you will see the minimap button's tooltip as normal) as well as the options of certain clicking does certain things, and the ability to select the LDB queue for the text in the Options dialog as well. I really missed eQueue (RIP!!) and iQueue is awesome but I wanted to combine some of their features, and after speaking with grdn SMQueue was born (and now re-born!). I am open to suggestions! Thanks.

So far so good from my perspective. I'm actually playing with this as a replacement for eQueue' functions.

Are you planning to add in the ability to open the Queue windows, both PvE and PVP, via right/left clicking? As far as I can tell right now, I cannot open either Queue through the LDB datafeed.

My suggestions would be to have Left Click open the PvE Queue and Shift-Left Click to open the PvP Queue. Right Click to open the menu, ie when in Queue it would allow leaving. When in the dungeon or in the group it would allow teleporting in and out.

*Edit* Ignore right clicking... I just found out its there already..

For cycling through the different times available maybe using ctrl right/left? I'm not sure on that one though.

Just my 2 cents and the only thing I've found lacking.
