Ookin' Dooker!
Version: 1.2
by: corveroth [More]
This addon helps you (and everyone else) to swear like the ookin' dookers you are! It automatically substitutes Hozen vocabulary for common swear words in all of your outgoing messages, and filters incoming messages to match.

Toggle with /ook.

Problem? Suggestions?
Feel free to submit bug reports or suggestions in the comments!
1.2: Chat bubbles! Dropped a few unfortunate translations.
1.1: More vocabulary! Adjusts "a"/"an" for proper grammar after translation.

not working

For some reason this doesn't work for me.

Mod is installed and enabled.

/ook doesn't toggle it on.

Doesn't work at all? It defaults to on, and there's no notification when you type /ook (which I should probably change). The filters on incoming messages should always work, at the very least, though the outgoing filter might conceivably see interference from other addons. Could you PM me a list of the addons you're running?

Will this get updated for 5.1? I absolutely love it makes trade/bg chat wayyyy more entertaining.

It still works fine, just check Load Out-of-Date AddOns at the addon selection screen. =)

But yes, I do intend to bump the TOC number so WoW thinks it's up-to-date, plus add some tweaks. I've been doing my research into hozen linguistics and turned up some new vocabulary, plus I'll do a bit of cleanup to make the translations more consistent.

If it's not too much trouble, could we get a feature to turn off hozen swears for opposing faction names? Like make it so that I (as a horde player) don't have to put spaces in "gnome" if I want to say the name without it turning into wikket.

I'm not likely to add "pick 'n' choose" configuration for this addon. You have the option of toggling it with /ook whenever you need to speak in plain english.

If it really bothers you, the "wikket" translation is handled separately from the swear filtering, and you're welcome to comment it out in your local copy, around line 327.
