Did you update it? It should be working, unless tanaan has some phased map nonsense.

I'm not sure what you mean but the map fading feature is under Objectives in the interface menu if you want to disable it.
My addon doesn't have anything to do with the map transparency and as far as I can tell it looks how you'd expect it to look when the map fades out.
Yep thanks for the info disable the map fading feature and its better now. When it was enabled foglight looks like this when map fades with All Terrain view:

No, don't use the latest version on live.

They changed the map in a way that I have to anchor the dropdown menu to a frame that doesn't exist on live.

I just quickly threw something together so I could actually use the map on the beta without having to explore everything.

Foglight is only enabled in zones with map overlays, eg. the areas you uncover when you explore them.

The cities all have small maps that are always revealed so foglight disables itself.

As for deepholm, it does have overlays but the minimap textures around the edges were never meant to be seen by players and are unfinished and fairly unattractive. If you really want to enable it in deepholm you can find and remove "and areaID ~= 640" from foglight.lua.

Dalaran, ironforge and undercity are all indoors, which means they have separate textures from the terrain and foglight isn't designed to draw these (I don't know if any addon has ever been capable of it).

Here's a picture from another map addon I was working on of Dalaran superimposed onto the terrain that shows how they're separate (plus the underbelly).

Here's ironforge and undercity..

Here's isle of thunder, which they forgot to enable water for..

This is what it's supposed to look like, taken from one of the phased versions of the island

Isle of thunder is an exception because it doesn't use overlays to reveal the map, it uses them to cover it up and hides them as you advance through the stages. It's the only map that does this and I have no idea why they did it this way.

As for mapster, I'm not entirely sure what you're describing. Foglight's hybrid view currently shows the overlays and terrain at the same time, did you want it to hide the explored overlays and only show the missing ones?

I love Foglight's terrain/satellite view. The minimap textures are so much more precise, detailed and informational than the default maps and I haven't ever come across another add-on that did the same thing.

Though I wonder if you could somehow make this compatible with Mapster's FogClear module which removes the Fog of War and adds a coloured overlay for those same (unexplored) regions instead, so we could have the terrain view and the coloured overlay at the same time? Or would this just not look well enough?

Also, Foglight doesn't work for specific zones. Is there something special about them, would they be unsightly, blurry, are there positioning issues or missing textures, or were they just not added because they are fine as they are? I suppose that most of them are rather precise and detailed enough already, especially the ones with special designations on them, like Timeless Isle, Isle of Thunder, Deepholm, and of course the eight main racial cities, Shattrath and Dalaran. So, it's not something I really miss, but I wonder what these would look like with the terrain view and if I'd prefer it over the default view.

Think had problems with aurora too because it had buttons above the dropdown menu so try to move it or use a better map addon e.g. monomap :P

Ah thanks, I'll take another look. It might be incompatibility with ElvUI map that I'm using.
Edit: I see now 3 dashes not 2, UltraEdit confused me, it colors that whole block as a comment, sorry for the false alarm.

The problem is with ElvUI skinning of the map not Foglight.

Re: v2.5 error

No errors with the dropdown menu for me addon is working fine since month and I change the mode very often.

However the green textures that I have to "use" tease me and I don't know how to disable the map switching function of capping...
