The latest version is for the WoD beta, download 2.5 for live.

Fills in unexplored areas on the world map and provides a satellite view of the surrounding area.

Adds a small dropdown menu to the bottom right of the map to switch views.

This is not a map replacement, it simply attaches to the map frame and should be compatible with most existing map addons.

2.5 - Added underwater maps for vash'jir, prevented updates if map hasn't changed.
2.4 - Changed menu to a standard dropdown, adjusted frame levels to reduce interference.
2.3 - Added a new menu to toggle the different views, updated the database.

2.1 - Fixed bug with satellite map displaying in microdungeons.
2.0 - Added satellite map.
1.03 - Hid check button for maps without fog.

Realy like the update!
The cut out map bit to transperent if you have not expored it.

Also woud it be possible to add an option to enable disable sat map
And an option to enable sat map for the wohle map?

EDIT: I know there is not much space so maybe when shift klick the button disable sat map and when alt-klick enable sat map everywhere
(Maybe we need a tooltip to know what it can do)

I'll see what I can do about adding an in-game configuration.

The check button is kind of in the way as it is so I'll probably move it or come up with a better solution.

For now if you want to just change the color or opacity of the overlays you can modify the r,g,b,a values at the top of the lua file.

Sat map shoud be disabled in Micro Doungens.
My map looks like this inside Ruins of Ogudei.

It shouldn't be enabled on any map without overlays, but I'll fix it in the next update. There's another bug involving a race condition due to the way I check if a texture exists. If you zoom out of a map before the textures load it can end up showing them over the new map.

I'm working on an options panel so you can adjust the settings.

I was going to put it in the interface options panel but would you prefer something like shift+clicking the map to cycle through different views?

What's the main reason you switch between views?

I need to provide some sort of interface to let you pick the color and alpha of the overlays.

Because it looks soooo cool
No I just like to use the satmap everywhere but sometimes I woud need names of small citys and other places that are not seen at the sat map so an button to show the normal with satmap around woud be cool

Alright, I figured out why microdungeons are misbehaving and have that fixed but I want to put off uploading an update until I get the options finished. I haven't decided how to do that quite yet.

Actually here's a paste of the lua file if you just want a quick fix.

Here's a couple screenshots of something I've been working on if you think it would be an interesting addition to maps that don't have overlays, maybe just display it while holding down a modifier key..



It's basically a frame that shows the terrain textures under the mouse cursor.

I think its a cool thing but I have to be honest - I won't use it I don't think its very usefull.
Also maybe too much for foglight - maybe as extra addon/plugin

btw map of Deepholm looks weird. maybe disable sat map here too

Deepholm is not the only map with garbage textures in areas that players aren't meant to get to. Unfortunately I don't particularly want to manually blacklist every map like that, but I don't think there's a better solution.
