We Don't Wipe  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5.10
by: Taraezor [More]

Description
A fully featured and configurable DPS maximiser. Displays a sequence of icons, representing the order in which you should use your abilities so that maximum DPS may be achieved.

By itself, We Don't Wipe does nothing. You must separately download the modules.

Works great in 7.1 Return to Karahzan!

Supported Class/Specialisations
* Windwalker Monks Updated for Legion!
* Arcane Mages Planned for Legion!
* Fire Mages Updated for Legion!
* Frost Mages Updated for Legion!
* Havoc Demon Hunters New for Legion!
* Enhancement Shaman Updated for Legion!
* Elemental Shaman Planned for Legion!
* Hunter Planned for Legion!

(Perhaps others for Legion)

How to Instal
Download the latest We Don't Wipe. Instal like any other AddOn. Download one or more modules. Instal like any other AddOn. Some modules required the Hard Yards AddOn.

How to Configure
When first launched, and providing you are not in combat, you will see a set of overlapping tiles at one side of your screen. This is the template to create your queue pattern. Slide these tiles around. The tiles tend to snap together. It is very intuitive. When you are done, enter the following in chat to toggle off the template display: /wdw ooc

To see a full list of configuration commands, enter "/wdw" in chat. Appending a " ?" to the end of any command will bring up more helpful information about the command.

My Hand Held Setup FAQ page might also be of help.

Priority Queues (aka Rotations)
Each module is built upon popular and authoritative sequences sourced form places such as Icy Veins. I then add in support for any other talents / abilities which significantly affect single target DPS.

Abilities with longer cool downs, say about 120s, will usually have a parameter to enable/disable from the rotation. To see a module's list of parameters enter "/wdw listp" in chat. To adjust enter "/wdw setr parm1=xxx,parm2=zzz,parm3=...".

If You Like We Don't Wipe
Taraezor's main AddOn is We Don't Wipe, an excellent DPS maximiser! While adventuring, map your way with X and Y, pickup a great raptor pet with Adorable Hatchling Nests, search for Netherwing Eggs, try Tip to enhance your Tooltips, go the Hard Yards, the most accurate way to measure distance, use This Scampi Happening for fish flavoured Tooltips, or Yarrr for pirate Tooltips, and instal Let Minnow to show off your fishing poles!

Cookies, Beer & Donations
It is all about the Cookies & Beer although, and don't let Gallywix know about this, a "thank you" in the comments section fuels my programming appetite and is very much appreciated. And then, you could cut straight to Click here to lend your support! because as Gallywix would say... "time is money, friend".

* Number sizes for cooldowns (both main and CD rows) improved for really small tile sizes
* Sweet spot for icon moving scales now at small tile sizes
* Had to add specific Enh. Shaman code due to Blizzard smoke and mirrors with Stormblast

* If target is a player then the usual target information text replaced with some basic player relevant stuff
* Interface options panel better organised, some rewordings
* Friendly audible login welcome sound, tailored for races
* New error, warning, debug messages. Colour coded. And the old standard 'print' message too

* Removed "Ace" as a dependancy. WDW now its own boss (Core + Interface + TOC)
* Calculation of number of each type of DK rune is now accurate and not a (pretty good) estimate (Core)

* Shaman must be >= L87 for Ascendance (Actions)
* Shaman must be >= L81 for Unleashed Elements (Actions)
* DK must be >= L87 for Soul Reaper (Actions)
* DK must be >= 81 for Outbreak (Actions)

* Invisible first/main icon could previously be moved (if you were clever). Now not possible (Core)

* Frost Death Knights added
* Massive performance boost. No longer throttles cpu (lesson: don't blindly trust what you read on the net. Test for yourself!)
* Tooltips for all icons
* Keybindings revamped, including the bug in v1.03. Now bi-directional for both rotation & cooldown
* Mouse wheel support as an alternative to keybindings
* Frost Mages no longer prompted for Water Elemental when mounted
* Slight range text placement adjustment to allow for null queues (unlikely as it is)
* The forced English language for a player's "specialisation" removed. Thus more non-English friendly
* Shaman Reincarnation correctly shows when dead and not on CD
* Mage Tier 2 talent no longer assumed to be Ice Barrier (unlikely as that would be in PvE)

== v1.02 - 26th December 2012

== v1.01 - 24th November 2012

== v1.00 - 18th November 2012

v3.11 - Ready For Windwalker Monks

These changes needed to cater for Windwalker Monks in particular.

Of note is that this is the only AddOn at the moment to tackle the hidden Power Strikes timer.

I am considering (after I finesse the code) making the Power Strikes handling a stand alone AddOn, as I did with Hard Yards and Cool Aid.

At the moment I do NOT track PS from the point of Talent selection but from the first refresh of the buff. From that point onwards my AddOn is 100% accurate. Prior to that it is a "best guess".

Cool Aid will soon incorporate the PS routine.

New Windwalker module: Windwalker Monks

v3.08

As per the change log, several small bug fixes plus a big change to allow the Modules to support player's directly changing various parameters/constants specific to that module.

v3.08 is required for the new Arcane Mage v2.02 module as it relies upon this new feature to allow players to adjust timings between Burn/Replenish/Conserve Phases of the rotation/priority queue.

Thumbs up We Don't Wipe/ Warlock

I just love this addon, but I would love to see something for the Warlock. My main is the Warlock and I'm looking for something for Supported Class / specializations for all three specializations of the Warlock. Grateful for any future Addon of the subject. Thanks for the excellent work of the other Addon.

Got this error - using the Frost Mage profile.

also, unchecking the Always Show box has no effect - the icons still always show. Deleted my saved variables files and same thing.

Lastly, /wdw doesn't bring up any options. I have to go through Interface > Addons > We Don't Wipe
(1) Don't worry about the taint error message. IIRC you get one of these from almost the second spell you cast. After that there should not be any more until the next fight. It is something Blizzard have done at their end since very early in WoD. They'll fix it eventually.

(2) I thought I had fixed the Always Show problem with the recent upload of WDW v3.07 recently. Will look at it again. Thanks for reporting. (Caused by Blizzard changing the way Booleans are passed in WoW).

(3) Yup thanks. Edit: /wdw on its own does nothing atm. You need to enter /wdw help or /wdw ? for something to appear - a list of available chat commands for WDW. Looking back over versions it is intended. Maybe not a smart move by me. Next update I will force /wdw to work as if you entered /wdw help or /wdw opt. Dunno which lol.

To go straight to the Options Panel you need to enter /wdw opt but to even know this you need to be able to get to get the list of chat commands to appear first. So I'm thinking I'll make /wdw -> /wdw help.

EDIT:

Just tested 'Always Show'. It works as intended. i.e. to force display even if not in combat. This enables the icons to be repositioned. With 'Always Show' NOT checked then if you have no attackable target / not in combat then you will NOT see the icons.

Got this error - using the Frost Mage profile.

also, unchecking the Always Show box has no effect - the icons still always show. Deleted my saved variables files and same thing.

Lastly, /wdw doesn't bring up any options. I have to go through Interface > Addons > We Don't Wipe

Not yet. But... I have a level 100 WW so will happen and partially done.

I got caught out big time with the breadth of the internal changes to WoW programming. I am right this minute updating the main WDW module so that it at least loads properly and runs without causing taint problems.

And the matter of me selling my old account for big bucks doesn't help you much. Sure as hell is paying for my family's internet gaming though hehehe.

I know it is easy for me to say 'be patient'. Believe me, it pains me that I can't do more and do it quicker.

For those of you interested in a stable AddOn with just the Cooldown part of WDW then my Cool Aid is strongly recommended. Copied its code over to WDW this morning.

Image with Always Show unchecked but still showing:

Also, unchecked the box to Show Cooldowns (as I didn't want the mini boxes for my cooldowns). They stopped showing. In the options, the checkbox is checked, but they don't show. If I uncheck the box, they show back up. In the screenshot above, you can see the Show Cooldowns is checked, but the cooldown icons are missing. Here's another screenshot with the box unchecked and seeing the cooldown icons:

Reloaded the UI, etc.

Thanks for any help!
Aware of problem but thanks as all bug repots are very welcome. Fixed in the Cool Aid Addon.

Edit: Fixed but not yet uploaded as bundling some fixes / changes together and testing.

The above problem was due to Blizzard for some reason only they would know, deciding to change how Booleans are handled. Sure WoW API Boolean styled return codes never matched with the LUA programming language for AddOns but it has been like that for 10 years and AddOn authors routinely just know how to make things work. Why on earth would they now, after all this time, decide to move closer to the LUA style of boolean variables? Grrrr.
