Improved Blizzard UI is an attempt to improve the World of Warcraft interface by styling frames, implementing additional functionality and restructuring / hiding existing elements.

This has been customized to out of the box be how I personally like my UI set up however there is extensive configuration available in game by using the Escape -> Interface -> Addons menu. This interface is primarily tested at 2560x1400 but should largely work at any resolution.

BfA Update

Following the release of 8.0 a number of features have had to be removed or disabled. These are as follows.

Known Issues

If you get LUA errors related to FramesDB on first install please simply do a /reload.

  • To install Improved Blizzard UI place the folder into World of Warcraft//Interface//Addons as you would any other addon.

Improved Blizzard UI is on Github and this is where all issues should be reported. New Feature requests are always welcome as are pull requests.

Localisation help is currently needed most. New Localisation templates can be submitted via Github pull requests. The template for these is available in localisation/template.lua.

Full rewrite
Apparently this has been printing PVEFrame open for months and months and I didn't notice. This is what happens when I unsubscribe after adding a new build.
Removed vscode folder
Made it easier to tweak action bar positon / scale.
Fixed the BG "Join Battle" button resetting to the left after every 2nd BG.
TOC bump and minor string changes.
Moved Target buffs above frame.
Nothing changed, decided to push a dev grid onto the public build as well as my own since it helps with tweaking.
Quest related crash to desktop hopefully fixed.

PM me a screenshot of the Hunter issue as I can't seem to replicate it I'll also be putting up a build at some point setting the FrameStrata of the Boss Frames to the lowest so that debuffs should draw on top of it instead of underneath.

Hey man. Again, great UI.

I've noticed that with version 18, the same overlapping pet bar is happening that someone mentioned earlier for DKs, but was fixed, is now happening on hunters.

My pets bar is displaying underneath the top action bar. Can supply a screenshot once I get home from work tonight.

Another thing I noticed is that when the player buff bar jumps to 2 lines, it pushes the player debuff bar gets pushed down one line, standard UI behaviour. But with the ui scaling, it pushes the debuff underneath the raid boss frame on the right side of the screen. Only reason this is an issue for me is for stack tracking during Heroic Butcher. Can't read the num of stacks I have since the boss frame covers it. Note it's the raid boss frame, not my target frame. If this is confusing, I can try to post a screenshot sometime later. Not raiding this week, so I may just try to sketch something up.

could you please increase the size of the boss frames?
The Objective Tracker should not have been collapsing as frequently as it was, this was a logic bug that I've now fixed with 017e (Update Pending). It should only collapse when you zone into a PvP Instance.

I've also upped the scale of the Boss Frames though I haven't had time to properly test this. I agree the default size is stupidly small.

You can open the files I mentioned in any text editor and tweak the variables

Question Boss frames + auto collapse?

Dear kay!

Sorry for bothering you at New Year's Eve but I require a little help:

How do you disable the feature causing the Objective and Achivement tracker collapse every time when there is a loading screen? Its really annoying for me :confuse

I would also like to request an additional option for future versions: could you please increase the size of the boss frames? They are really small, I can hardly read the numbers on them... I don't even understand why Blizzard made them so tiny.

Apologies for this, the UI is designed and tested for a resolution of 1920x1080.

The Position and Scale of the Unit Frames can be changed in BlizzImp/modules/blizzImpUF.lua. Lines 9 - 28.
The Scale of the Action Bars can be changed in BlizzImp/modules/blizzImpBars.lua on line 63.
The Scale and Position of the Buff Frame can be found in BlizzImp/core.lua. Lines 202 - 204.
The Scale and Position of the Minimap can be found in BlizzImp/core.lua. Lines 214 - 215.

How to install

So I'm pretty new to addons and I've got this installed, but I got that issue where the target frame doesn't appear. Having read another post on this, I downloaded the update and put the files in the Addons directory, which didn't work. I then tried putting them in the main WoW directory - still doesn't work.
Help is appreciated.

New build 017b adds a toggle for this to the Options Window. You'll need both "Auto Repair" and "Use Guild Bank For Repairs" toggled on Guild Bank repair is toggled off by default. When enabled it will attempt to repair from Guild Bank and if it can not do so (Not enough Guild Bank Gold / Withdraw Limit too Low) then it will fall back to repairing from your own gold.

EDIT: Update 017b is still Pending Approval.
Further Edit: Still waiting on approval.... Sorry for the delay.

Since I mainly just reposition and scale the default Blizzard UF's you should be able to use any other UnitFrames you wish though I haven't tested whether this is true. It's unlikely I'll add a toggle option to disable all Blizzard UF's simply because that would be a lot of work for almost no payoff. If you do try any other UF's and it causes errors with BlizzImp let me know and I might take a look.

Regarding Repairs

Any way for the autorepair function to attempt to use Guild Repairs before personal gold? I have access to 500g for repairs, and they tend to add up for Mythic Nights....

Skada and Improved Blizzard UI are my only addons. This error was happening before I installed Skada.
This Error should have been fixed and I can tell you are using an older build. Please Update

Sometimes my target's frame does not appear, I can see the shading of timed debuffs placed on him but that's it, once the target dies sometimes their frame will appear.
