BhaldieInfoBar

BhaldieInfoBar is a Titan Panel offshoot, the difference is that BhaldieInfobar autoscales the bar according to the UI Scale and/or screen resolution you use, this means your plugins will never run off the screen now matter what UI Scale you are using. BhaldieInfoBar has the functionality to make two rows of plugins right now, next version will incorporate a multi-row functionality. Some of the options of BhaldieInfobar are:

Features:

  • Change the XP bar into a Reputaion Bar
  • Saved Profiles
  • Autohide the bar
  • Volume Control, which is a altered version of Titan Volume2. Rightclicking on the BM Logo will bring up volume control
  • Either Left justify or Center the plugins on the bar
  • Hide/Show all default plugins icons or labels
  • Option to reset all setting to default
  • Hide/Show BM Logo
  • Compatiable with CT_UnitFrames, Gypsy_UnitBars, DiscordUnitFrames
  • Autosize of bar to fit any screen resolution or UI scale
  • Ability to have a maxium of 6 rows of plugins.
  • Invert the bar to the bottom of the screen
  • UI Window to customize Infobar
  • Per character saved variables for plugin position and enabling/disabling.
  • BhaldieInfobar (default plugins).
  • Infobar Alpha fade.
  • Enable/Disable Plugins
  • Change spacing of plugins width
  • Change font size of plugins
  • Change size of XP Bar width
  • Hide XP Bar

Default Plugins:
  • Clock
  • Estimated time to level
  • Location
  • System includes Latency and FPS
  • Bag Status
  • Ammo Status
  • Money
  • IB_MINIDPS (by Shake)

Note: I have also ported afew Titan Plugins over to work with my bar you can check them out at http://wow.kingofnothin.net.

Changes:
  • Corrected a font error occuring when a plugin has no icon.
  • Corrected a problem when in battlegrounds, where the battlegrounds info at top of the screen was moving up and down.
  • Updated toc number

This is much better looking than titan....
I will be using this one

Was wondering what it takes to convert the plug-ins.
Can you provide some how to guide so we can help in this conversion process?
I am doing a code review of the differences in one of the converted titan Addons.
But a simple how to would be great, defining what to do and what to look for.

Thanks

Titan Plugins Ports

Right now im in the middle of making the porting process easier, version 1.8.1 will be out hopefull by the end of the week which will make porting alot easier, and i will definity write a "how to" if ppl want to port plugins themselves (take the load of me lol).

So if everything goes according to paln (never does ) by friday i should be able to release 1.8.1 and will for sure include a "how to".

Thanks for the comments and im glad you like BhaldieInfoBar and thanks in advance for any help you want to give me on the porting process.

P.S. Id say the best plugin to look at right now for an example would be TitanHonor+.

Thanks again

Wow. Simply amazing. It took the author of Titan quite a time and a lot of quick-fixing to get it to where it was, and then Titan had to split into several independant releasing versions and it just got to be a mess. I still use a version with the "Customize Coming Soon" popup simply due to the bad graphical changes people make with their fixed versions and I'm a professional vegetable when things get complicated

I just hope it's extremely simple to convert Titan plugins, or perhaps add some code to them to make them compatible with either (sorta like the ones that can use Titan and Infobar) cause I'm really not a code-experienced person and it subtracts a lot from palytime if I'm spending days trying to port everything over. One mod I can imagine could be a problem is the ModMenu plugin. This one differs from the others in that it isn't just showing some graphical information to go along with a mod that could otherwise easily be made stand-alone. ModMenu seems to be as close as you can get to full integration without being in the same folder. I'd sure feel better if you or the author of ModMenu were working on that. I'd ask him, but I forgot how to find him.

Can't wait to fiddle with this thing though.

Edit: One thing that stands out right away for me is that you added a flip and dock to bottom function. I'm curious as to how hard it would be to, say, dock it to the buttom and skip the flipping process. Could the two options of docking and flipping be separated into two related sub-options that would also allow flipping the bar while staying on top?

Almost there

Thanks for the comments, I believe that the structure of BhaldieInfoBar is almost there, and with a couple of tweaks should be set. As for the porting process i've tried to make it as easy as possible by keeping most of the same titan function, but i think there could be some more fine tuning done in that area.

I took a look at ModMenu on the weekend and the structure looks pretty similar to the other plugins, but i only looked at it breifly ill have to fool around with it for awhile to get a feel of how are it would be thou.

As for the inverting of the bar question, to do something like you suggested wouldn't be that hard to implement, i could look into something like that for a further version.

Once again thanks for the comments

That would be great, and I'm glad to comment and add my own ideas and thoughts. I'm sorta waiting on using this until after the holidays when I will have time to make my mods compatible and see if this bar is really going to enhance my setup or completely mess it up. Sure would be nice to have a Titan style addon that isn't dead or taken over by people with an impure vision for the addon okay, enough rambling....

Thats a pretty good observation considering that the first sentence of my description pretty well says that already, glad to see you can read.

Once again, today I attempted to figure out how to port my Titan plugins over to your bar. What would seem simple is in fact VERY complicated. while you do port some of them yourself, I find that those ones you chose to port are for the most part the extremely popular and extremely lacking in usefulness. If I were to switch over I'd loose a ton of plugins that are vital to the way I play the game right now.

"So... port them yourself." you'd say. well, I did attempt that but I discovered it near to impossible to figure out what the heck I needed to do even with the porting guide. You have a complete tutorial for one plugin only, and the information you provide is pretty specific to that plugin. The are many plugins that don't have XML entries that are the same as the one you follow in the guide, and many of them that I've used have several different frames with scripts on them that don't even fit within your guide of what to remove and what to add. Then I scroll down to loo kat the LUA section and ...gah... It's like I'm rewriting the addon from scratch. The changes just go on and on and on and on!

What I was expecting, rather than a tutorial for one single addon, was to find a guide to the differences between Titan and BIB and what functions are the same (other than name) and which are different, what you have that titan doesn't have, what functions in Titan can be easily changed to a BIB function and what args your function adds to it...etc etc. That might have helped a bit more. as it is, sure we all know how to port that addon but when it comes to something more complicated, we're gonna have to take a week or two to dig through your code to figure out what does what.

If you are looking for more plugins to port yourself, which would probably be easier in the long run, here's my list:

TitanCleanMinimap OR CleanMinimap
TitanHearthStone
TitanLanguageCycle - Unfortunately all searches for this plugin have failed.
TitanSpamBlocker - Also seems to be lost, but this one isn't vital.
TitanStats - Yet again....nowhere to be found. grrr.
TitanAlarmClockWrangler - And finally, one that has disappeared.

as you can see, the number of plugins I can send you to and the ones I'd need to do myself are rather in favor of me doing a TON of work. When I can barely even understand what your one-plugin-tutorial is asking me to do what with the barely-understandably typoed instructions and the very-specific information that doesn't apply to all plugins, the work required to do this wouldn't be worth it in the end when Titan works as intended and I don't need to do anything to make sure it still works tomorrow.

Thus, I still can't use this.

Tracked Down

Well ive tracked down all but one of your plugins (TitanStats), and they all seem to have the same basic structure as most titan plugins, don't see much of a challenge to convert them. The only one that stands out is alarmclockrangler, its structure is different from the rest and could be troublesome, but I gather that Titan is still your bar of choice so porting these will be on a very low priority. Anyway thanks for the report about my readme, maybe ill go over it again and try a different way to get the information out, but the best advice I can give is look at other examples of plugins that have been ported, the answers are there if you care to spend the time to look for them and I am always will to answer any questions.

Honestly, I could probably do without AlarmClockWrangler, since I don't actually use the alarm clock anymore. Just so long as your clock has similar offset options.

Anyway, I wasn't in my right mind there....those are just the ones I started with that are specifically Titan plugins. one of the major items I'd want to keep from Titan is DepositBox, which is an addon that lets me hide funds from the rest of the UI so I don't go broke spending all my money. This also lets me save up for things I can't use yet (like a mount) without having to do the math myself.

I guess I just don't like a lot of change, such as having to get used to completely new plugins for BIB when it really doesn't seem like it should be all that hard. I'm just not understanding your english nor what I'd have to do to the other plugins to make things work. Not for lack of trying either, I must have spent an hour or more trying to figure out how to port over TitanHearthStone (yes, I know there are other plugins that do this, but so far this one plugin does exactly what I want and nothing that I don't want...so...yeah).

Maybe I'm just too picky about my UI. I think there's only about one or two of my total 100 or so addons that are loaded (give or take two or three due to class-specific features that the others don't need) that I haven't opened up and changed several things each and everytime I downloaded a new update for that addon.

It got frustrating when I was browsing the XML file looking for something similar to what you were showing for the example plug-port and I wasn't seeing anything even remotely similar. I also wasn't understanding about the New Stuff you had marked. Is that mark under the new stuff or over the new stuff? Is the new stuff limited to the following frame only, or does it continue further down? And the really confusing part was when I didn't see anything to show where the new stuff ended....cause then next tag was for more new stuff.

I think my single best suggestion would be to try rewriting that tutorial using more generalised examples that would cover possible situations in a more complex plugin. Also what would be nice is perhaps a list of common Titan referenced and their equivalents/usage notes in BIB. I know it would be a bit more work than what the last one took...but while some people will ge tit right off the bat, a still-learning LUA coder wannabe like me just can't take what you have now and apply it to something different.

Other things to think about are templates, sample plugins with simple commented code where things were changed.... okay, by now you wanna smack me. -ducks-

If it weren't for these issues, I'd be dropping Titan on the spot.
