Notebook 

Blizz changed the parameters required by its PlaySound API which broke many addons including this one.
In the xml and lua files for an addon (for this one: Notebook.lua and NotebookFrame.lua) you will see StaticPopupDialogs definitions and PlaySound API calls that have this:
StaticPopupDialogs
sound = "someKindofCode",

or
PlaySound("someKindofCode")

And those strings need to be replaced by either a SoundKit field reference or simply a number that represents the applicable sound. See below for a full list:

For this specific addon you can fix it by editing 2 files:
Notebook.lua
replace all 3 occurrences of
sound = "igCharacterInfoOpen",
with
sound = 839,

And in NotebookFrame.lua, replace the 2 occurrences of this:
PlaySound("igMainMenuOptionCheckBoxOn")
with this:
PlaySound(856)

And the 1 occurrence of this
PlaySound("igMainMenuOptionCheckBoxOff")
with this
PlaySound(857)

Do not edit the files while you are in WoW
Do not use Microsoft Word to edit the files, it's autoformatting options can wreck the text.
You can use Wordpad (aka Write)
You can also use Notepad, but sometimes it can't handle UNIX-style text files properly resulting in everything appearing on one line.
Third party text editors should be fine (I prefer to use Textpad)

Please add compatibility for item and spell linking in the notebook. I personally like to use it for managing my characters stat priority with subtext that explains what spells it effects, talents among other things. this would also be beneficial for raiding with linking for spells the boss casts that certain players need to pay closer attention to (ex. Touch of Doom) please please please implement this!!!

No on other addons showing same data save or load issue.

Yes unfortunately.. I had to rebuild my notes from scratch 2 times before I got smart and manually saved by copy/rename on the data file.

While I have used notebook to share notes with guild members in the past, I am currently only using the addon to save local notes for use about my alts on the same realm/faction.

Just a heads up .. since I haven't found a reason for the problem.

about once a week or so my Notebook.lua data file gets reset back to default:

I saw this with 5.4.8.25
and am testing 6.0.2.30 where I expect to see it happen again.

I did compare the two versions and know the differences.. none of would which impact this issue.
If I find anything further, I will let you know.

I'm trying to send notes from the addon to a chat. Sentences gets break up while being sent from the addon to the chat.

For example,

- notes from the addon:
phase 2: tank/melee go to star, while range/healers go to yellow. range/healers follow and stack on me ({triangle} on my head). ignore weapon.

- when it get sent to the chat, it looks like this:

I really like this addon. Wrote up a garrosh kill strategy guide and try to send it to a raid chat and this happen:

Is there a way to fix it?

The issue that Zayedx seems to be happening with any chat text in the main chat frame for me. I figured it was some sort of debug text, but I can't find where to turn it off.

Can you please fix this
