PerfectRaid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v50001-1.0.0
by: Cladhaire [More]

PerfectRaid is a whole new look on raid frames, giving you as much information as possible in an easily recognizable format that's easy to place. Show as much or as little as you're interested in, and completely customize using the each options editor.

Use /praid to open the configuration GUI.

  1. A preliminary frame editor is in game. It can be kind of complex at the moment, but it comes with a nice set of defaults for you to use.
  2. Added a pre-made buff dropdown to the buff editor screen

Please post in the forums for further discussion:

OK fine, I don't really care about whatever game you're talking about or any of that... I just want you to understand the problem I'm having, so hopefully this screenshot will help, as it seems your "experience" is quite different than mine. It's totally possible that I'm just doing something wrong too I guess, so let me know if something in my settings isn't right:

http://www.bleedo.net/perfectraid.jpg

As you can see, 2 new people joined the raid and it made the unit frames grow DOWN, even though I have them set to be anchored to the BOTTOM. What's wrong?

What I'm asking for, and what I thought I made pretty clear, was an option that made the entire collection of bars grow up, instead of down.

Fine, lets play that game. This is what you initially posted:

Would it be possible to add an option to make the health bars grow in reverse? I want to have 1 tall 40 person frame anchored to the bottom of my UI, and currently as people join/leave the raid the frames grow down, can we get an option to make it grow upward instead?
Health bars growing in reverse to me means that you'd like to have them grow as someone is damaged, instead of deplete. I apoligize for misinterpreting your statement.

As for the "align frames to bottom" option... I checked this option BEFORE posting and here is what it did: It reversed the collection of bars so that instead of warriors being at the very top, then priests, etc... it was priests, then warriors, etc. Know what I mean? As new people joined the raid it still created new frames at the bottom, instead of the top. Not sure how else to explain this, maybe you don't understand.
Align frames to bottom does not add new members to the raid at the bottom, it grows from the bottom, as advertised. The sort order may not be what you'd like it to be, but I can verify both in the code, and through experience that this code does exactly what it says it does, allows you to have a raid where new members are added to the TOP of a layout, instead of being anchored to the TOP of the previous frame.

As for the custom sort order, I'm planning on getting that in there, but other than that, the option you're looking for already exists. If you're jonesing to change that yourself, its on line 200 in PerfectRaid.lua.

I may have been rude, but if you had already tried the options specified, why wouldn't you say that? The first rule of bug and feature requests is demonstrating clearly that you've exhausted the current options. Then you express what you'd like _different_ from what already exists. Its a pretty simple process, and as anyone here could attest to, if you provide me with good information and requests, you get quite positive responses.

Yeah.. its called "Reverse HP Bars".. been in the mod since the first frame editor release.

The other one is called "Align frames to BOTTOM".

I suggest you read the posts/threads/changelogs/options before posting. Thanks.

Also, I don't really care about health deficit much but it's very hard to tell how much life is missing from people if, lets say, everybody in a 10 man raid takes a shadowbolt volley for 3500. It's hard to see where the health bars should end... can we get an option to toggle on backdrops behind the health bars? Just a faint similiar-colored bar behind them is all.
Yeah, this has been requested.. and It'll be added at some point.

I suggest you read the posts/threads/changelogs/options before posting. Thanks.

Edit: About the bar backgrounds, Im thinking something similiar to the background that appears on bars when somebody is dead or offline.

1.) The answer is three posts down from this one. Not currently possible.
2.) Something is tainting your target frame which is stopping it from displaying during combat. Its not one of my addons =).

Thank you

Hey, that was fast, thanks for that.
That sounds good for me, i'm just glad you keep on developing this great addon. Just take your time, and deal with your stuff, i guess everyone agrees that we can live quite good with the current version. The other things are nice to have but i can wait for them. I'd rather have you working more slowly from now on and keep on the good work for a long time than having lots of stuff in the mod allready and you getting tired of doing it.
please excuse my poor englisch.
regards, Sean

Thank you so far for that great mod.
I've been posting pretty regularly in the forums, but I understand the concern about the length of time in between updates. Essentially, getting PerfectRaid where it is now took a number of sacrifices on very critical projects in my life, and I absolutely have to get them done now due to deadlines.

The next update can realistically expect to find the following fixes and features:
* Using PerfectRaid in a group
* Option to enable/disable the mana bars
* A way to disable or enable frames without needing to delete them
* Group numbers, raid icons, master looter, party leader, main tank, and main assist icons (This will be the first one to fall off).

As a shaman, I can't as a rule do anything about magic debuffs or curses. From past experince I've discovered I really like knowing about them- most of the time. I'm often enough in a raid situation where I have to be very aware of what's happening in general and it helps me to be able to see.

However, a debuff of the sort of Arcane Blast or Essence of the Red (assuming there's a magic-typed version) or what have you I'd love some way for it to be tagged as 'nodisplay' if I go in and individually edit my preferences.

So instead of having an acronym or letter or some such, would it be possible for the logic to see 'display override on this specific buff' and toss it out, so I'd never see Arcane Blast but I'd still see every other debuff- assuming I went in and configured it in such a manner?
No, not in the current codebase, as I previously said. Also, as I said before, in order to filter these out, I would need to be supplied with a list of debuffs that have a listed "type", making it "dispellable".. that need to be ignored.

Hello,

I used this addon for a long time and for me it is the best addon for raiding.

I just have a simple question, I didn't read all the post reply but is the possibilty to form 1 groupe instead off 2? I was used to play with 1 group per class.

Iff it is possible this would be super
If you have the newest version you can make the columns/groups as you want them

Yes, I just need to figure out how to seperate the logic out, and where to put the extra options. It won't be super intuitive, but it will work. I'd rather keep it out of the header options, but many of the same things apply there. In short, we'll see how it goes =)
