PerfectRaid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v90001-1.0
by: Cladhaire [More]

PerfectRaid is a whole new look on raid frames, giving you as much information as possible in an easily recognizable format that's easy to place. Show as much or as little as you're interested in, and completely customize using the each options editor.

Use /praid to open the configuration GUI.

  1. A preliminary frame editor is in game. It can be kind of complex at the moment, but it comes with a nice set of defaults for you to use.
  2. Added a pre-made buff dropdown to the buff editor screen

Sorry, I think I didn't explain it clearly enough. Here's an example:

Say I have PRaid set to show Arcane Intellect/Brilliance as a blue "I" when present on mana users. My idea is that it would be useful to have PRaid show a different color/name combo when AI/AB is not present (a black "I" for example).

By doing this with all of my defined buffs, I could create a static display of symbols next to my PRaid frames that would effectively light up when the buffs are present, or remain black (or some other color) when they are absent.

It just occurred to me however that I could probably simulate this behavior now by defining each buff twice, although it would of course be dependent on being able to control the order in which buffs are displayed (hence my previous suggestion, unless I either hack the savedvariables file or meticulously recreate my buff list from scratch). [/b]
Correct, you can do this yourself, that's what I was referring to. I don't really have any plans to implement this natively, since its such a special need.

Yeah, the only workaround would be to reduce the vertical dimension of the health bar so that it doesn't overlap, but that would probably be even less desirable due to the effects on the color gradient style of the bars.

This has been in the addon since the first release.

Thanks, I'll try it and report back. Is there a list somewhere of those hidden options that I can look over? I'm feeling like I was expected to know about them somehow...
You weren't, and there are only two of them. I wrote them because it was easy to get them in the code, but rather difficult to find a place to put them in the configuration.

- allow a placeholder to be displayed for a buff when it isn't active (or vice versa if it's only supposed to be shown when inactive)
This has been in the addon since the first release.

- allow the user to move buffs up or down in the list to set the order in which they appear by the raid frames
Interesting, but low on my list at the moment. I'll see what I can do.

Also, I think you might have missed these since I edited my post after you replied without realizing it:
Edit: Some buff ideas:

- allow the user to move buffs up or down in the list to set the order in which they appear by the raid frames
Not expecting a response or anything, just wanted to make sure you saw :P

you can see that sysorexor and terrable have health bars that are visible through the power bars. i guess what must be happening is that they're drawn individually with non-opaque alpha, so their colors are blending?

The rage/energy thing is an option. The health bar is ALWAYS on top of the power bar.. so I'm not sure what you mean.

Noticed another issue (actually it's been around forever but haven't gotten around to reporting):

Rage and Energy bars inevitably disappear within minutes of being enabled, while mana bars are always visible when configured to be.

Also, when someone goes out of range, their health bar switches to be on top of their power bar instead of vice versa.

Edit: Some buff ideas:

- allow a placeholder to be displayed for a buff when it isn't active (or vice versa if it's only supposed to be shown when inactive)

- allow the user to move buffs up or down in the list to set the order in which they appear by the raid frames

No, but I got it to show Vashj's Static Charge as "CHARGE" in red, so i'm sure you could do the same for the Mech boss by making buffs named "Positive Charge" and "Negative Charge" (I think that's what they're called).

I don't use praid in non-raid situations either though. With only 5 people in group I find it more convenient to use my regular unitframes addon, which shows buff icons large enough to clearly see things like the charges.
You can configure Praid to display any buff as long as you have the exact name of the buff.

r122, I often get the following error when trying to re-edit newly-added buffs. It will usually open the edit window for the wrong buff when this happens:

[2007/08/23 18:40:57-1687-x2]: PerfectRaid\PerfectRaid_Options.lua:159: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

---

Edit: Doesn't seem to be related to new buffs, it just happens at random.

I thought I had this bug fixed, but apparently its still a problem. I will need to rewrite the templates to fix this, along with all the other things I need to desperately get done with the addon.

hello,

situation: when someone leave the raid e.g. 25 raid and join again.

bug: The last Member ( sorted by classes, often hunter the last one ) is "buggy", i doesn´t see the real nick, buffs and colour for the class.

I can fix it only with rejoin WoW. Disable / Enable my selected Raid doesn´t work. You have some tips, or knew this problem?

best regards láppen
