PerfectRaid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v50001-1.0.0
by: Cladhaire [More]
PerfectRaid is a whole new look on raid frames, giving you as much information as possible in an easily recognizable format that's easy to place. Show as much or as little as you're interested in, and completely customize using the each options editor.

Use /praid to open the configuration GUI.
  1. A preliminary frame editor is in game. It can be kind of complex at the moment, but it comes with a nice set of defaults for you to use.
  2. Added a pre-made buff dropdown to the buff editor screen

Please post in the forums for further discussion:

Clad, sorry to bother you as I know these type of questions are a pain but I can't figure it out.

I recently had my HDD crash and had to reconfigure my Perfect Raid settings.
I was able to resize the raid bars and move the name into the raid bar but i can't figure out how to make one last change.

My raid bars are located on the right side of my screen and there is approx. 1 inch between the raid bar and the edge of my screen.
I want to minimize that space... I did it before but I lost my notes when the HDD crashed.
Your info on http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=11460
mentions that I need to change info in the PerfectRaid_Buffs.lua but what info ?

Also.. I do not know how to tell what line# a string of code is other than searching for text... so if you can assist, please try to be specific as possible.

Lastly, the very first mods I downloaded when I reinstalled WoW was Clique and Perfect Raid.
As a healer they are indispensible !
It's tough for me to give you an exact line number because the various versions of the code I have at any point may not (and do not) in this case match up with yours.

Here's the function were concerned with:

Code:
function Buffs:UpdateButtonLayout(button, options)
	button.aura:ClearAllPoints()

	if options.alignright then
		button.aura:SetPoint("RIGHT", button.leftbox, "RIGHT", -2, 0)
	else
		button.aura:SetPoint("LEFT", button.rightbox, "LEFT", 2, 0)
	end
end
You can change the anchor point of button.aura in this function, depending on what you want to do. If you want to minimize the space on the right hand side of the frame you'll need to alter button.rightbox (this is shown in the howto) and then find a place to anchor the aura test.

Thanks very much for the quick reply !!!
I wasn't able to get that to work but I will keep trying.

I think reloading the UI may not always update the changes I make to the lua file

Well, i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but I spent this morning messing with thePerfectRaid_Buffs.lua and I cannot get it to do what I want.
In fact I cannot get the raid bars to change at all which make me think I'm in the wrong spot.
What I did was to change this line by small increments and didnt see any change.
After some time I figured making a large numeric change would reflect on screen but it doesnt.
I changed the following.
Original=button.aura:SetPoint("LEFT", button.rightbox, "LEFT", 2, 0)
Altered=button.aura:SetPoint("LEFT", button.rightbox, "LEFT", 200, 100)
Altered2=button.aura:SetPoint("LEFT", button.rightbox, "LEFT", -200, 100)

Reload ui and reload game and the raid frames stay exactly as they were.. still 1" from the right edge and bumps up nicely to the left edge.

I'm still poking around but if anyone has any suggestions I would be greatful.

1.) You need to change teh size of rightbox. I've already explained this.
2.) What you are doing with that code is changing the placement of the "buffs" text string. Thats the string of characters that tell you what buffs and debuffs a unit have. Changing it won't do anything other than move that font string.

You need to do (1) so you can drag the frames closer to the edge. You need to do (2) so the buff text is displayed elsewhere.

I'll try and take a look at this later, but I'm knee deep working on stuff at the moment.

Yes, I can move the buff frame now.
However these lines of code do not seem to affect the space I want to change.
Thanks again Clad... I will figure it out. No need to put any additional work into it for me.

Found the line of code, it was in the perfectraid.lua file not the buff file.

button.rightbox:SetPoint("BOTTOMLEFT", button, "BOTTOMRIGHT", -20, 0)

Default setting is -70 instead of the -20 shown above. This reduces the space I was looking for.

My apologies if I provided vague information in my original post.

Locally yes.. I wouldn't dream of releasing something like that during 2.4. Its crazy around here.

Well I've used incarnations of perfectraid for a long time. Sad to hear it's on the backburner.

I still really like it. It's one of the first mods I went to look for when I came back to wow just recently, but I've been having some problems.

I would like to know if I can make it display your party&raid in one convenient frame. If I select party it dissapears in a raid, if I leave it blank it doesn't show in a party.

If I make one for each instance, they both show. If I then disable the party one in a raid, the blizzard ui pops up... even though it's set to not show up in the options.

___

If there is really no current future for this mod, can someone suggest something similar?

As a workaround, if you disable the party one in the raid group before you zone in, it should correct itself after you're zoned. Otherwise /console reloadui should clear it up.

If you look down about 3 posts, you'll see that there's lots of stuff coming soonish. LH + TT are on new infrastructures and getting the expected post-patch shake-outs, so it might be a little bit, but it's a pretty long stretch to say there's "no current future for this mod".

Yes, I didn't look at dates and assumed page 91 were the newest posts and not the oldest. I feel rather silly.
