Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>
  • /bongos scale <barList> <scale> - Sets the scale of <barList> to <scale>
  • /bongos setalpha <barList> <opacity> - Sets the opacity of <barList> to <opacity>
  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings
  • /bongos version - Displays what version of bongos you're running
  • /keybound - Toggles keybinding mode

Bongos 1.5

Is there any way to enable more info in Spell tooltips?
On my mage, i like to be able to hover the skill to check it's damage, instead of going to the spellbook, but i can only see "Pyroblast Rank 3" for example. Items have their whole tooltip displayed, but i didnt see any options for Spells.

Re: Profile Won't Stick

Are there any plans to allow for left/right control/alt/shift to be used once the next patch hits? Would be a nice addition. Both for modifier keys and for keybinds.

Anyway, my problem is this. Your program works perfect on its own. When I use Supermacros though, to give myself more than the default number of macro slots, it bugs out when I try to add a supermacro to Bongos. The buttons take the icon of the first "actual" macro and fail to function properly. Is there anything you can point me towards (I cannot program LUA but I can try) or make a fix for it in your next version?

Anybody else know how I would go about remedying this issue?

Profile Won't Stick

Bongos Version 1.5

I've have searched and I have turned off BongosFu. Still the profiles will not stick. Anybody else having these problems? I'm not sure whether to reload Bongos or to move to a different program.

Would much rather use Bongos, but having to select profile each time is bothersom. Mainly because i have no menu bar until I do such.

Can you please check into the possible cause? It does not appear to be BongosFu.

Oh and I am not very computer savvy so if you could please explain to me every step I would really appreciate it!
You're going to want to ask Mazzlefor help for this, since Mazzle's bongos is rather significantly modified.

If you're running on the same account, you should be able to simply copy the WTF folder in your wow directory to the wow directory on the other computer to copy settings from all addons you use.

Did you try setting up paging in this way?
Page 2: bar 2
Page 3: bar 1
Page 4: bar 2
Page 5: bar 1
Page 6: bar 2
If you do, I think it should at least act like you have just two pages.

Every time I log into a toon, it defaults to my main's profile. I open up bongos, choose the correct profile, and everything is fine. But upon logging in to another toon, the profile is reset to my main. This just started happening a few days ago and it's driving me nuts.
Do you have the fubar plugin for bongos installed? I heard that may be a source of the issue.

Also, regarding allowing the action bars to fade unless they're being moused over ... is this something you're planning to add?
Its in the "maybe" category, though it is a commonly requested feature.

Is there an option to hide button borders? Some screenshot's I've seen on the discord site have the button borders hidden, and I'm sure they are using Bongos.
No, but its possible they're using cyCircled

Its not really possible for me to fix nicely. I would advise using shift + mousewheel or shift + number for paging, or faking it by setting every other bar to what you want it to be.

Take into consideration that sliders bars are not numbered the same like real bars. In sliders bars start in "BAR 0", but real bars start in "BAR 1". So when you want to change your real bar 3 you have to select bar 2 in sliders.

I have this going in the interface help section as well...

I will post a screen shot when I get off work if I have not found the solution by then.

I started with a fresh install which gave me 10 bars. For bar one I brought up the options and went to paging. The paging screen looks like this:

Page 2
-----------Slider-----------
Page 3
-----------Slider-----------
Page 4
-----------Slider-----------
Page 5
-----------Slider-----------
Page 6
-----------Slider-----------

I currently have page 2 set to bar 2 (which is reflected on my action bars...later it will be a hidden bar...like 10) all the other sliders are set to 0 which I thought would only give me 2 pages...and it does...but I have to click "next action bar" 5 times while on page 1 before I see page 2...then the next click is back to page 1

This is basically what I have:

Page 2
--2---------Slider-----------
Page 3
0-----------Slider-----------
Page 4
0-----------Slider-----------
Page 5
0-----------Slider-----------
Page 6
0-----------Slider-----------

When I sacrifice my warlock's pet, the pet bar doesn't disappear, and I have to right click dismiss my pet for the bar to go away. Could this be something wrong with the default UI? because the pet frame sometimes doesn't go away right away.

I'm using Bongos2 ver 1.5.

I'm not able to load any of the saved profiles from my previous version of Bongos. They're not even listed in the profile tab anymore. The is affecting all chars I play.
