Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>
  • /bongos scale <barList> <scale> - Sets the scale of <barList> to <scale>
  • /bongos setalpha <barList> <opacity> - Sets the opacity of <barList> to <opacity>
  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings
  • /bongos version - Displays what version of bongos you're running
  • /keybound - Toggles keybinding mode

/cast [button:2] Aspect of the Pack; Aspect of the Cheetah.

This is a massive issue for me. Could a fix for this be implemented?
I have also noticed that... it seems that bongos doesn't support conditional clicks. I have probably 10 different 'conditional' macros that I use on my mage (conjuring food/water, mana gems, portals, etc.) and sadly I've had to stray from Bongos (on my mage) to TrinityButtons.

Hopefully a fix for this is already in the works

Love this mod problem is the bars still displaying empty spots when I switch stances, also, I know it minimizes the space, but also removes the Latency Bar... how do I get that back?

On the beta server, I noticed that with any bar replacement addon activated, the [button:#] option modifier in the macro scripts does not work. Searching the WoW UI forum I found the following:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...834696&sid=1#0

I am having the same issues. Really liking Bongos, but would be nice to have this macro functionality.

Thanks,

Robinton

More XP options?

Actually, it occurs to me: If you could just snoop whatever text other mods want to set for the "normal" Blizzard XP bar, then display that, then all the mods that influence the XP bar display would be covered.

Alternatively, more options would be nice. I'd like to have "X/Y" rather than (Y-X) displayed, and it might be nice to be able to show both the XP bar AND a reputation bar.

Question stances help please

When I go into Stealth 'stance' my action bar changes to the appropiate bar, but when I hit 2 for cheap shot, it does sinster strike instead. I found out that the Bar7 in stealth mode doesn't actually change, yes, the pictures do change, but the keys are actually bar1.

actionbar1 = bar 1 (2 = sinster strike)
stealth bar = bar 7 (2 = cheap shot)

I dont know how to fix this. Any ideas?

edit- The default stance is: "Stealth: Switch bar 1 by 6." I tried changing the Bars and Offset, but I have no idea what they mean; and none of the numbers I input didn't change what i wanted.

Can't seem to page directly to bars 7-10

Before 2.0, I was able to bind my numpad keys to the action bars for paging (bars 1-6 are in the standard blizz key bindings, 7-10 I thought i did through bongos). Somehow, I could page through all 10 bars. Now I only can page through the six normal blizz bars. I can still see bars 7-10 in bongos and can switch to them via stances, but I can't page to them directly. What am I doing wrong?

Quick update, Supermacro got an update which addressed some of the errors that I have posted, but unfortunately the conflict between the two mods still exists

On another note:
On the beta server, I noticed that with any bar replacement addon activated, the [button:#] option modifier in the macro scripts does not work. Searching the WoW UI forum I found the following:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...834696&sid=1#0
which confirmed my finding.
Please consider adding support for this feature, I simply cannot go back to blizzard standard bar anymore

thanks

where exactly do i find the version number? i just downloaded what i think is 6.12.10, but when i look at the toc files it says 6.12.08 for the bongos folder and 6.12.5 for the bongos_actionbar folder (no version # is listed in the options folder). these are the only parts of bongos that i have installed. i did notice that the version history.txt has the changes listed for 6.12.10.

again, just want to make sure that i have the most recent files.

Nice actionbar mod. Just one request. Would it be possible to add a feature that when pressing a button, your actionbar will switch from page y to x, and when releasing the button your actionbar switches back from page x to y?

I miss this feature so much :|

Anyways, keep up the good job

DOH. In case anyone else misses the obvious like me, the number of 'pages' that Bongos will cycle through is directly related to the number of Action Bars you have selected in the default Blizzard options (under 'Advanced Options').

The more bars you show there, the fewer there are for Bongos to cycle through.

Hope this helps at least one other person so I don't feel so clueless

I could use just a quick, basic explanation as well - I have a Mage who pages through 2 bars when I hit the 'Next Action Page' button, and a Hunter who pages through 6 bars .. but as far as I can tell all of their Bongos settings are identical (I saved the Mage's profile and loaded it for the Hunter).

This isn't even about the more advanced stance switching problems - I need to know how to set up just some good old fashioned bar switching first

Any way to...?

Any way to have a bar only show up on mouseover? I'd like a custom bar for stuff like Tracks/Aspects on my Hunter but I don't need it visible all the time. Previously I used DAB which was too much for what I needed but did provide a way for me to have a bar only show up when I moused over it. Thanks for your time and the great mod.
