Geist provides a twenty-five button action bar that displays under the mouse cursor at a keypress for quick and convenient access. Geist includes Masque support for button skinning.

How to use: Bind a key to Geist using the keybinding interface in the menu. Geist will display whenever that key is pressed with the mouse over the center button.

Are you using the default action bars, or custom bars like Dominos or Bartender? You are correct in that druids use multiple action bars, but Geist will configure itself to avoid sharing bars by default, at least with the default action bars.

If you're using an action bar mod, it most likely has to do with how both mods assign their ids. Geist has a (non-friendly) way of changing the action ids to something less likely to conflict with the assign command.

Vraan A Deviate Faerie Dragon Forum posts: 18 File comments: 15 Uploads: 0	Strange bug. I experienced some difficulty with this mod the other day on my druid. I like to put my main abilities on actionbar 1, then CDs, buffs and such on Actionbar 2 right above it. Usually I use Geist for noncombat things like water, flasks etc. Geist has worked perfectly for me in 5.2, except on my druid. Everytime I try to add an ability to Actionbar 2, it also appears on Geist. And if I remove it on Geist, it also gets removed from the actionbar. But I could add something to Geist, without it appearing on the actionbar. I thought perhaps it was a problem with the actionbar, so I enabled actionbar 3 and put my CDs on there instead. Again, they appeared on Geist. And then I tried Actionbar 4, and the same thing happened. Anything new I added, got put on Geist as well. I'm not too fussed about it, Geist works fine on my other characters, I just thought it was kinda weird and might be worth reporting. Edit: I presumed this trouble was caused by druids having multiple forms and actionbars, though I'm not sure why it doesn't affect the main actionbar, just the secondary ones. If you mean that you want it to autopopulate things like potions, bandages, etc, then not at this time. That's far outside the scope of what Geist is intended to be. If you mean a different function, you'll need to elaborate.

Sorry, no fix for it reacting the opposite of how it should just quite yet. Hopefully soonish. I'm in the middle of a somewhat sudden move across the country and all that fun stuff.

What numbers do you mean in reference to spells?

I've had issues with this myself, although not on alt-tabbing, where the window responds opposite of how it should. I kind of know what's causing it, I just need to see if I can go in and come up with a good way of fixing it. The alt-tab gives me another way of recreating though, thanks.

Despite the fact that I use Dominos myself, I actually write and test Geist with the default interface only. For better or worse it's the base standard I know all people will have, so I try to work around it accordingly.

The warrior action buttons in the default interface are just downright bizarre though. Numbers 1-12, used by every other class in the game as the default set, are completely unused by warriors, with numbers 73-84 being used for (the default) battle stance. I have no idea why this was done, but it seems like a waste. If you open GeistButtons.lua in a text editor, there's a list of the default Blizzard action slot IDs in a comment at the top.

Sometime in the future (read: never), I'd like to use or write a custom button setup that would rectify the problem of shared action IDs once and for all. This creates a whole new set of problems of its own, but it's a nice goal.

By the by, if you're comfortable mucking around in lua, it's much easier/quicker to edit the Geist SavedVariables to rapidly reassign a mass of buttons. I really need to make the interface more user friendly.

The fix is to type the following, one line at a time. (I copy/pasted '/geist assign' and filled in the numbers 12 times. Took about 30sec)

Code:

/geist assign1 96
/geist assign2 97
/geist assign3 98
...etc, all the way to /geist assign12 107
/console reloadui

As long as you don't use more than 96 actionbar buttons, you should be in the clear.
