The standard Blizzard Raid UI is quite pretty but not really convenient. Each time you start a raid, you have to drag and drop the groups and classes you want to display. EasyRaid solves this issue, your favorite set of groups and classes is automatically displayed (with the Blizzard Raid UI) as soon as you join a raid. In addition, EasyRaid enhances many aspects of the raid display: auto-ordering and positioning, buffs/debuffs, scaling, attacked player highlighting and a lot more.

EasyRaid is also the perfect companion for CT_RaidAssist or oRA2 (a CT_RA alternative). It fetches Main Tanks from CT_RA or oRA2, displays them in a wonderful way and reinvents Targets viewing. Give it a try to understand what I mean.

  • Following the WoW 2.0 patch, I had to rewrite more than 75% of the EasyRaid code in order to conform to the new locked UnitFrames in combat mode. I also made a large cleaning and I restructured the whole for an integration of Ace2 soon!
  • Now the buffs and debuffs are simultaneously displayed. The buffs of long duration are masked in combat mode in order to free space for the short buffs like Renew, Shield, etc. The debuffs are displayed permanently and those which you can dissipate are highlighted with a flashing border if you are in range.
  • Addition of Shamans for the Alliance and Paladins for the Horde.
  • All known bugs were fixed.
  • Improved look and feel.

I just tried this out, and I have one comment on what I feel is a behavioural bug, and one definite bug.

Definite bug:
EasyRaid does not pass any mouse buttons besides Left and Right to JustClick. Particularly I am being bitten by mouse button 4, which I havebound to various healing functions.

Behavioural bug:
The auto placement is interesting and kind of useful, but redoing the layout of the columns as buffs come and go is distracting and likely to lead to messed up click casts. The mod should calculate the amount of space required by a column assuming the character is displaying buffs, regardless of whether they are, so the columns do not keep jittering around.

Target Frame?

Anyway to make the Targets Frame not be on a higher level the other frames? For example when I open Guild Tab the Target Frame overlaps...

Buffs

I cannot get the display of buffs to appear as you have yours. And I am not sure why. Showing only castable buffs displays ONLY Demon Armor. Uncheckingt this feature shows ALL the buffs, blood pact, demon armor, AI, Fort, Paw, AB, ect ect. How did you get it too look how it is suppose to in your picture of buffs?

sigh, wish we had that bug/feature portal..=(

Hi Bhattu,

This is not a bug, it's a feature. You sould consider to uncheck the "Switch raid display to show all groups" checkbox in Buffs panel if you don't want this behaviour.

Kinda annoying issue I ran into last night in an UBRS group...

I switched the buff/debuff display over to showing buffs, and when I did the Main Tank frame disappeared. A few seconds later, it switched by itself back to showing debuffs, and the main tank frame came back up. I tried this multiple times, but it did the same thing each time. Any ideas of what could be happening there?

I'm using the newest version of oRA and oRA_MainTanks, and the newest version of EasyRaid.

maybe you should start a discussion thread .. this file comment thing is driving me crazy with it's switched order

the wrong-letter-assignment-bug I posted earier happened again.. but again only with this group of mobs .. so I gues it had something to do with the range since we pull those mob from far away ... on every other encounter it was working perfectly

for ideas of positioning the raidframes I only have one Idea .. make it possible the groups/classes columnes grow from left to right .. I tried a different screen setup with the raid displayed on the left side but didn't really worked

another idea would be to completly disable buffs/debuffs view... as a warrior I don't care on most encounters .. I set mine up now to only show debuffs I can cure (*g*) but a switch would be nice perhaps for other people

The main tank not staying set issue happens if you haven't broadcast or been broadcasted the channel. Try making a raid and inviting people without having broadcasted the channel, then try to set the main tanks. They won't stick. Once the channel has been broadcasted, it works fine.

Also, a suggestion: The ability to assign a raid icon to someone on the main tank list and have it mark their target with that icon whenver combat starts. Maybe also have it show up on thier spot in the tank window? Not sure if that would work like I think it would.

Thanks for the quick reply Soin. Yeah, I seen on forums they misintentionally disabled the playsoundfile, slouken pfft =p

Well, was in raid last night, and first time I actually binded my key for debuff/buff switching, (always just left it on debuff). Well when I switched to buff's, it was only showing the warlock demon armor. So I took a closer look at options and see the castable buffs only was checked, so I unchecked it, bam every buff someone had showed up. So I guess thats how it was intended? Or should it only be showing castable buffs as it said, IE the bloodpact shouldn't be showing up when checked, but AI, Fort, Paw, and any others should be showing up when castable buffs only is checked?

Well only other addons I use for anything dealing w/ party or raid are these oRA, CTUnitFrames, and CTPartyBuffs, and of course the lovely EasyRaid. Not sure if it's me not setting the options up correctly, or if it might be some other addon causing this? I seen the example pics you have and the buff picture looks fabulous. Just curious if you had any input on this..dang sorry for the long post. =)

I'm reconsidering my point of view. Thanks for your precious feedback. I'll see what I can do, I've an elegant idea but it requires a lot of work.

There is an issue with the 1.11 patch, the PlaySoundFile function is not working anymore. This will be fixed in 1.11.1.

EasyRaid communicates with CTRA and oRA in the two directions, it can both fetch and set the MTs.

And since the patch I have not been able to set my own MT's, I drag them and drop them in EasyRaids config panel and it puts them there for a couple seconds then wipes them out(/shrug). But if someone else does it, when I am in there raid, it seems to work fine.
I'm unable to reproduce this issue, you should have a look to your CTRA or oRA configuration.

Like said below this post, I am not to fond of posting this here, but you don't have a bug's/feature portal like the other authors...=/
I'll add my bugs/feature portal as soon as possible, really sorry for that.

My opinion as a user, auto-positioning isn't what got myself (and guild-mates) interested in EasyRaid. It was the fact that it builds upon what is already there (the Blizz Raid groups) and adds the missing things like a MT group, MT targets, auto-pullout.

I'd like to be able to take the group of mages or warriors for instance, and drag them somewhere out of the mass cluster of people. It just feels more inuitive for me to have the option to drag the groups where I want them, and then have EasyRaid automatically pull them out and plop them there for me when I join a raid.

The way you show (and have the ability to assign) MTs is amazeing, easy toggling between showing debuffs and buffs, etc.. All of that is what makes me WANT to use this mod. Being forced to have the groups where EasyRaid decides they should be (and haveing them decide to move themselves when group sizes change) is what is stopping me from useing it.

Since I couldn't find any release thread nore there seems to be any portal page, I'll have to make my feature request here, I'm sorry to, but there seems not to be another way.

Feature Request:
- Add some kind off "health-lost" and/or "health-%" text for each raid member, thats something a priest REALLY needs!

I second the ability to disable the auto-positioning. I'd like to be able to move each modual around myself. This is one of the biggest things stopping myslef (and a few other guild mates) from switching to EasyRaid.
