SCT - Damage  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.65
by: Grayhoof [More]
What is it? - A mod that adds your damage to SCT. It provides a way for you to see your damage in a static location. This can be useful against large mobs like those in MC, Bosses, etc...Can use SCT animations or its on built in style.

What can it do?
- Your Melee, Spell, Skill, Periodic, and Pet Damage
- Spell Damage/Resists and Damage Type (by color)
- Target and Spell ID's
- All "Miss" events (dodge, block, immune, etc...)
- Custom Colors for all text events and crits.
- Ability to show only target damage
- Four Fonts to choose from
- Can disable built in WoW damage
- Sliders for text size, fade speed, and on screen placement (with custom editbox)
- Localized to work in almost all WoW clients.
How do I use it? - First you must have SCT installed already. Next, unzip SCTD it into your interface\addons directory. For more info on installing, please read install.txt. Now just run WoW and once logged in, type /sctdmenu to get the options screen or you can click the SCTD button on the SCT options menu.

FAQ
How do I remove the damage the scrolls above my targets head? - WoW itself does this. You can turn it off by checking the the "Disable WoW Damage" option, or by going to the Advanced Options under Interface options.

My Wow Damage won't turn back on, even after I turn off SCTD! - You need to turn this back on manually in WoW. Go to Advanced Options under Interface options and you will see a checkbox to enable damage. Also, it is highly recommended you don't use the "Enable Wow Damage in PvP" option if you are on a PvP server.

My peridoic damage is not showing up in the combat log or on the screen! How do I fix it? - You have turned off periodic damage on the Advanced Options under Interface options. Make sure the "Periodic Damage" check box is checked, even if you have Damage unchecked.

I don't like friendly nameplates on. How do I make my heals appear over who I heal? - Friendly nameplates have to be on in order to show your heals. SCT will turn them on if you turn on the option, but you must manually turn them off if you don't like it (see Target keybindings).

SCTD damage is ontop of my SCT messages, how do I fix this? - I highly suggest you move SCT's message using the sliders on the SCT option menu. You can also move SCTD using the sliders on its menu. Consider placing it over you target bar.

How do I reset SCTD or load another users settings? - SCTD is tied directly to SCT. You can reset SCTD using SCT's reset button or typing /sctreset. You can load another users SCTD settings by loading them from the SCT option menu.

How do I change the fonts? - You can select from four fonts on the options page.

I don't like enemy nameplates on. How do I make my damage appear over who I hit? - Enemy nameplates have to be on in order to show your hit over the enemy heads. SCT will turn them on if you turn on the option, but you must manually turn them off if you don't like it (see Target keybindings).

I like the "spell color" ability but some customization there would be nice, or at least have wand damage show up white or yellow, with touch of chaos the shadow damage can get lost in the CoA corruption spam.

My fix for error - replace in sctd_options/localization.lua 41 line to:
SCT.LOCALS.OPTION_SELECTION101 = { name="Damage Font", tooltipText = "What font to use for messages", table = {[1] = SCT.LOCALS.FONTS[1].name,[2] = SCT.LOCALS.FONTS[2].name,[3] = SCT.LOCALS.FONTS[3].name,[4] = SCT.LOCALS.FONTS[4].name}};

Is it possible to have SCTD display the damage dealt above the recieving target (Replacing the WoW ingame dmg text)? I was hoping it was possible with this mod but i don't know for sure.

Just like the hunter below me, I simply can't get SCTDamage to display anything at all. I know it worked pre 2.0, is this a known bug or did I actually miss something even tho I tried everything the last three hours?

Thanks in advance

SCTd Lag

Not entirerly sure what was causing it, but since installing SCTd I've been getting _very_ heavy combat lag at seemingly random intervals. It'll work fine for a while, then I'll hit some stuttering and eventually I start getting 10+ second lag spikes. Resetting WoW seems to fix this issue (possible UI memory leak?), and it's definitely SCTd - enabling the mod and heading into an AB I start getting aggro after about five minutes, with it disabled I've had no problems even in AV. Spent about three hours with it enabled/disabled and it is 100% reproduceable on my computer, as well as on a guildmate of mine's.

Rather disappointed since I quite like this mod. =/ Here's to hoping you can find a fix. I'll help to locate the problem in any further ways that I can.

Re: SCTd Lag

Please post issues on my portal using the bug report section. I can't properly track and respond to posts here.

I don't believe this could be SCTD, as almost nothing changed about it from last version. Mostly all cosmetic changes to the option window. Keep in mind that SCT/D can only move proportional to you your FPS, so if something else is causing lag, SCT/D will make it more apparent but its not actually causing it.

Same Frame?

Is there anyway to get SCTD to display in same frame as my SCT, as a rogue it's extremely annoying having combo points and damage being overwritten by damage I take. I already have all my SCT in one frame I just need my damage in there.

Also the stickycrits dont seem as big as they used to be is there anyway to make them bigger?

Crits

Is there a way to keep all the regular WoW damage, but also show spell criticals in a static frame? I was able to do this with the old versions of SCT without SCTD by editing the event_config to show crits as messages, but now it doesn't work.

Re: Crits

Myth, the easiest way to do that is porbably using custom events in your event config.lua. However, there are lots of options for adjusting your frames and animations so hopefully you can find a setup you like for your damage. Nothing changed about sticky crit size, you may just need adjust your text size and/or your UI scale.

DavidLive, this feature is not possible because blizzard does not allow UI's to interact with the 3d world. I have purposely removed damage shields from SCTD, but I'll probably be making it an optional event next release.

Rye, you can still do this with custom events in SCT. If its not working, please report it as a bug on my portal with exact details.
