BigWigs Bossmods  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v8
by: funkydude [More]

BigWigs is open source and development is done on GitHub. You can contribute code, localization, and report issues there: https://github.com/BigWigsMods/BigWigs

BigWigs is a boss encounter add-on. It consists of many individual encounter scripts, or boss modules; mini add-ons that are designed to trigger alert messages, timer bars, sounds, and so forth, for one specific raid encounter. These encounter scripts are activated when you target or mouse over a raid boss, or if any other BigWigs user in your raid does. In most cases only one module will be running at any given time.

If you're looking for boss encounter scripts for 5-man dungeons, these are not in Big Wigs, but live in their own add-on; LittleWigs.

I would love if you could give us some more ways to customize the bars in bigwigs, atm there's no borders, no bar spacing option and you can only change the size of the bars through scaling.
The scaling is good but there should be an option where you can change the size of the font because if you want small bars you can't see the text in the bars atm.
Cheers!

I keep getting this error, it's not lua however.

"The addon 'epgp' is causing BigWigs to load prematurely, notify the BigWigs authors!"

So correct me if I'm wrong. There is no simple border option for BigWigs bars and if I want to add one I'm going to have to code it/learn to code it?

Much appreciated. I really should look harder.....Just to clarify I haven't come here straight away as a matter of course. I have spent some considerable time searching for info before asking for help, which makes me feel even stupider.

Bar Borders

Hello,

Firstly can I say thank you for this addon. It's been very useful thus far and I would like to continue using it. I have recently overhauled my UI and am now very close to completion. Obviously I am running with a particular theme, in this case minimal. I am using pixel thin black borders around all bars. The bars themselves are set to about 30% opacity and then fill up black as the timer progresses, and use a Vistor 1 font. Every bar in my UI works this way, apart from my Bossmod timers.

I am aware that BigWigs allows bar styles, but I am unsure how they function or how you input your own. I have tried to use other addons such as !Beautycase to add borders for example, but it's unclear as to where I should imput the code to create bar borders using this addon.

So I suppose my question is, can I add my own themes and if so is it easy to do/understand. It's quite frustrating that the only two bosstimers out there have little to no customisation options, but are the most popular addons out there. DXE used to be my addon of choice but that was of course dropped. Please don't take this the wrong way. I am still hugely grateful for this addon and would be stuck without it. It nevertheless is a gripe of mine.

Thanks.

100% Certain, When we DBM pull bosses in my 10 man raid team (Out of combat) BW still "sometimes" fails to load. However ill try best to use your information to see if i can pin point the source of the problem

Apologies if I am accidentally persistent, I shall collate more information over a greater space of time and shall post again after next weeks lockouts.

So happy with our 4/6 HoF Progression!!!! Got my BiS Shoulders today!

Thank you for you time

Unfortunately it's perfectly normal for large Load-On-Demand addons to take a second to load, which is unfriendly with this new system. Are you sure you weren't in combat when you actually clicked the join button?

I joined fresh when there was no combat, and this happens when I first enter raids too.

In this particular situation it did break everything (no bars no messages) but im not sure why :S I dont have skinning addons. Is there a way for me to identify the cause easily?

Also it was working perfectly fine at the start of the expansion, and i haven't changed my UI at all :S
Sooo frustrating as i love BW

Please and Thanks

By "Skins" are you referring to the texture (Smooth, Flat, Blizzard.etc) of the bar or the style? (!beautycase or TukUI)

I will report back with my findings! should i receive a LUA error i will share it with you.

Thanks again ^^

People have experienced this in the past when using broken BigWigs bar skinning mods. If you get no errors, I suggest you reset to the default skin and see if that works for you.
