Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


Features:
  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.
  • Assign a sound file to play for events/triggers.
  • Dynamically create new scroll areas and assign any event/trigger to them.
  • Customize the position, size, animation style, enabled state, font style, font size, font outline, and opacity for each of the scroll areas.

Hello Mikkord, i just captured a video showing both blizzards SCT and your battle text.
I played it in slow motion, noticing the differences.

1. Blizzard SCT scales up with a transparency of approximately 50%.
Then shows the 100% transparency, and afterwards scales down.

2. The fontsize difference is much bigger from toggle to minimum-scale on Blizzard SCT.

3. Yours has a jingle effect.


I think 1. is the most critical, and I think that's the effect I'm mostly wanting.
2. Could be valuable, but shouldn't interrupt the effect that i love so much from Blizzard SCT.
3. Is nice and shouldn't be removed

Edit: Please do PM instructions if the above can be arranged

Supression Module

About the Supression module:

Currently it only support supressing skills unlike Parrot.
Could it be possible to make it also supress messages based on lua search patterns.
For example, i don't want to see the raid warnings sent by other bossmod users, i add a supression %*%*%* this way it will hide all the messages containing ***
This could be usefull in many other cases, i know there are bossblock addons, even included in BigWigs but they don't supress everything.

Liolin is correct. MSBT will show your cooldowns, but not those of enemies.

I believe afflicted will track enemy cooldowns and I believe it is also compliant with Patch 2.4.


Toxicity:

Update your version to 5.1. All the old versions no longer work as of Patch 2.4 because of the combat log changes.

Yeh tahts why im asking actually because of NECB is broken, and i thought, that the new Combatlog of 2.4 could handle this, i heard that its much easier to get informations of Spellbreaks/aurabreaks/spell interrupts etc. pp.

I think that is beyond the scope of MSBT as a combat log parser. MSBT -can- show a notification to an MSBT scroll area when YOUR cooldowns are up though.

Until the patch, I used NECB for enemy cooldown bars. Right now it's not working correctly until the new author updates it though.

is that right? and if so, how can i add that option?

The "Skill Crits" event controls spells. For example Mortal Strike does physical damage and Frostbolt does frost damage, but they are both just special abilities (skills).

The inheritance system is a three part system. It goes from Master to Scroll Area to Event. The money/loot events are inheriting from the Static Scroll area. Go to the font settings for that scroll area and set it to inherit from master. By default it is set to "Yellowjacket" whereas the other scroll areas are set to inherit.

Just got this add-on installed (RIP Parrot), but can't seem to get it looking the way I want.

I've went in and customized my events to my liking, but can't seem to find where I can reconfigure my spell crits. The option just isn't there. There are melee and skill hit/crit options (for incoming/outgoing events), but no spell hit/crit. Am I missing something?

Also, the main page allows you to set "master" font settings that you can allow inheritance of. There are two font presets you can create, Normal and Crit. However, there are events that generate text that don't fit into these categories (such as Money/loot) that still have the option to inherit their font settings. What option are these inheriting from? Where can I set a master font setting for these type of notification events?

The sticky crits is more shaking than zooming, where the original is barely shaking but giving a cool "BAM" zoom effect.

Hard to describe, suppose i could fraps it and render it in worst case scenario.

Ok cool. Thanks for the quick reply I just switched over from SCT by greyhoof and i am liking the added customization. I can't wait for the triggers to be full implemented and i can make one for when thorns runs out. I never remember to recast it when soloing

Verify that MSBT version 5.1 is installed. Anything prior will not work because Patch 2.4 changed the combat log.

As Liolin indicated, I've already answered the low mana warning error on form shifting and how to disable it for now. It'll be fixed in version 5.11 including the other behavoir you are describing because it's all root caused to the same issue.

As I posted on the main page, the trigger system is not fully complete because I didn't get to finish it before Patch 2.4 went live.
