Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


Features:
  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.

need help

First off thanks mik for one of the best addons ever created. Second question is
is there a way for MSBT to alert me before a buff is about to run out like lets say my seal is about to fade in 5 seconds can i add a condition to tell me to renew it?

New Rampage buff

Ahoy there, I'm trying to work out how to stop the new rampage trigger from spamming my notifications during a raid.

The new rampage is the one when you crit you proc it.

(not sure if this has been covered in an early post)

But I get spammed with +rampage and -rampage everytime I crit (as it refreshes it)

Please help.

p.s. awesome addon so far !!

Cooldown Lag

Hi,

I just started trying out MSBT over SCT, as I needed cooldown support.

Seems great so far, but I've noticed a 1 second (approx) cooldown between a skill being available and the appropriate "%s is Ready!" message popping up on my UI. I don't see this using SCT-Cooldowns (but SCT-Cooldowns is missing a lot of functionality).

Is this lag normal?

Is there a way to set animation styles on the event level rather than the scroll area level?

I want to have different animation styles for different events... I guess the work around would be to create a new scroll area that overlaps the same position as the other one and set the animation different for that area, but that seems a little inefficient in my mind.

Also would it be possible to create a new animation where the text moves up (either straight up, or arcing very subtly up) then slides left or right - picture an upside down "L" and/or upside down and mirrored "L"

Finally - is this a problem w/ MSBT or Chatter:



Chatter has a highlight system that will look for your name (or other keywords you add) in chat and alert you in case you're not paying attention (like me) which I've told to route through MSBT. I've only blackened out names and previous chat because that's not important.

MSBT is not detecting the cooldown finish on Explosive Shot / Arcane Shot for Survival Hunters. This applies both to cooldown notification and custom cooldown finish triggers.

Ellipsis (my timer bar addon) detects it, so there must be some MSBT-specific issue.

Ah, I see what you're asking. No, there isn't a log event to trigger on in that case. It would have to be done with some kind of timer or other events for which there aren't any trigger options.

thanks for your response, but I meant something else.
I don't want the trigger for the initial interrupt. Instead I want to see when I am able to cast again.

Example: A priest casts a heal and is kicked by a rogue. The priest is interrupted and cannot cast any holy spells for 5 seconds. After those 5 seconds I want a trigger to visualize that I can heal again - is this possible?

Unfortunately, I have not figured out a good way around that. The problem is that the fade is reported before the unit is actually dead. As a result, checking if the unit is dead does not work since it's not really dead yet.

There is a combat log message when a spell is interrupted, but there is already an event for that (Events->Incoming Player->Skill Interrupts). If you're looking to make it more noticeable, you could simply modify that event's settings. For example, you could move it to the notifaction scroll area, make it always sticky, and increase the font size.

As far as trinket cooldowns, there is no option for that.

That would be an Aura Removal. So it should just be:

Skill Name - Is Equal To - Overkill
Recipient Unit Affiliation - Is Equal To - You

It looks like you have the trigger correct, but I imagine the problem is the skill name. I don't know exactly what the buff is called when you receive it, but if you look at the combat log you should see something like "You gain X's Strength of Earth." Whatever the combat log says you gain is the exact value (it is case sensitive) to use for the skill name condition.

Then all you should need is:

Aura Application
Recipient Unit Affiliation - Is Equal To - You
Skill Name - Is Equal To - Whatever the combat log says

If you only want the trigger to fire when you are playing on your shaman, then set the trigger classes to shaman only.

I won't rule out the possibility, but I don't currently have any plans to add more. The more animation styles there are, the more memory the mod needs even if they aren't in use. I generally try to limit the things I add to features that will be used by the vast majority of users (or those that have no real impact on memory and performance) to avoid bloating the mod for everyone.

One of the greatest addons ever created!!

However, I have little question about it...
I've been trying for a while to make it display a message when I gain a totem buff or when it fades from me but with no succes. The event window looks smth like this:
Trigger classes: Shaman(tried without this trigger too)
Main events: Aura application-2 conditions
Recipient Unit Affiliation - is equal to - you(tried without it too)
Skill Name - is equal to - Strength of Earth(tried here with "Strength of Earth Totem", "Strength of Earth Totem VIII/8", "Strength of Earth VIII/8" and skill ID from rank 8 SoE)

Is this impossible or am I doing smth wrong? Thanks in advance.

first of all thanks for the best addon ever created.

now for some questions:
1. is it possible to create a trigger after being locked out of a spell school such as after being kicked, pummeld or mindfreezed? those spells/skills themselves don't create a debuff so I don't know how I could trigger that.

2. specific item cooldowns such as PvP trinket, when I can use it again. I know that I get the general "item x cooldown ready" message but I want to specify a certain trinket sound

Hi. Thank you for this great addon!

I'm trying to make a trigger when Serpent Sting turn off from my target and I am using a Aura Removal condition. It works fine but it also triggers when the mob dies. Is it possible to make an exception or some way to avoid it?
