Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


Features:
  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.
  • Assign a sound file to play for events/triggers.
  • Dynamically create new scroll areas and assign any event/trigger to them.
  • Customize the position, size, animation style, enabled state, font style, font size, font outline, and opacity for each of the scroll areas.
  • Customize each individual event's color, font style, font size, font outline, opacity, output message, enabled state, and scroll area.
  • Set "Master Font" settings that will be inherited by all of the scroll areas and the events in them unless they are overridden at the scroll area or event level.
  • Merge AoE data into one event with cumulative damage/healing done with number of normal and crits specified.
  • Show overhealing amounts against yourself or party/raid members.
  • Color unit names according to their class (including CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS support).
  • Color damage amounts according to damage type.
  • Show partial effects (resists, absorbs, vulnerabilities, etc) colored according to type.
  • Filter output information with a full suite of spam controls.
  • Load on demand options.
  • For mod developers:
    • Output your own scrolling messages with the MikSBT.DisplayMessage function instead of having to create your own frame and animation code. You can also use your own font by first registering it with MSBT via the MikSBT.RegisterFont function.

Ty for the update also it's nice to see the addon updated for MoP

What I want to suggest is this:
- would be nice if "-" (minus) had the same color as the incoming damage type:
shadow damage with shadow "-" both in purple, etc.
- separate animation speed for every frame or event/trigger (like we can set font or opacity).
- option to filter buff gains to 'self-buffs only'

Yes, I plan to update for Mists.

Coldkil:

I'll see about adding the monochrome for pixel font support while updating for mists. It should be a fairly quick change.

Edit: Actually after looking at this, I forgot that it already supports it. You simply need to select one of "Monochrome, Monochrome + Thin, or Monochrom + Thick" for the outline style on the applicable font settings.

Thanks. I need to verify that works with all other languages as well (it should), then I'll apply the patch. Edit: after looking at this I did need to use a slightly different pattern to work with both cases ("%%d *"). I'll have the fix in an updated release shortly.

A question probably raised from a thousand of different players:

can you do the support for monochrome outline? As a pixelfont fan, i really love your addon but it bugs me to edit every time i update the files to enable it.

I tried to add it to the options menu, but i failed for some kind of reason and in the end i was already able to obtain it

It would be awesome if it was native into the addon (since there's already the font import feature).

Trigger Exception for dead targets

Situation: I created multiple aura removal triggers for various auras applied to a target by me. They are working great, however, when the target dies, I get spammed with all of the removals. I have tried various conditions, main events and trigger exceptions to get this to not occur.

Question: Is there a way to suppress or except aura removals from dead targets? Or am I missing something?

I tried initially to add a main event to the trigger such that the target health was > 0, but then I realized that main events are on an OR logic, so the trigger just spammed. If the main events were ANDs or could be set to ANDs, then I think this would have worked.

I love the addon, if this is not a feature, I hope it can be one day.

From briefly scanning through the main lua it doesn't look like there's handle for you to use combo point gains for triggers, but I could be wrong. If this is the case you would probably have to do some function writing to enable this functionality. I would suggest using Holy Power gains as a starting point, copying and pasting the new functions and handles and then modifying the functionality to track combo point gains instead of holy power.

If you correctly implement all your handles and functions you should be able to select combo points as an option from the Trigger event menu under power gains.

Anyone know where combo points are located under Triggers?

I'm trying to setup a Savage Roar trigger but I can't figure out where Combo Point gains are tracked. I would have assumed they'd be under Power Gains > Power Type like everything else.

Hi, I wonder if this handy addon is going to be updated

I was trying to configure MSBT for my needs (and i'm almost done) when suddenly I thought:
'It's a great addon but what's the point to set it up if it won't be working/updated in MoP?'
Last update was 1 year ago.

There are already few changes i'd like to see:
- would be nice if "-" (minus) had the same color as the incoming damage type:
shadow damage with shadow "-" both in purple, etc.
- separate animation speed for every frame or event/trigger (like we can set font or opacity).
- option to filter buff gains to 'self-buffs only'

Damage incoming/outgoing delay.

Hello,

I really like this addon, but I am having an issue that is causing my head to spin. All the damage data, both incoming and outgoing, is so delayed that it shows the dmg data 10 seconds after the fight is over.

I have tried to turn up the animation speed etc but it doesnt seem to work.

Anyone else had this problem? And how do I fix it?

Do you have the damage threshold for displayed damage on that profile set so high that it's not showing the small amount of damage your lowbie alt is doing?
