What is Atlasloot

AtlasLoot Enhanced is an UI mod allowing for loot tables of bosses to be browsed whenever needed within the game.

Features
  • Dressing Room: Control-click items to show them in the Dressing Room.
  • Price Preview: See the prices for token items like PvP rewards.
  • Filter: Filter loot tables based on your class or set up your filter manually (NYI).
  • Instance Loot: All instance loot from every Dungeon (Normal and Heroic) and Raid.
  • Faction and PvP rewards.
  • Collection Items: Armor Sets (Dungeon, Tier and Crafted), Mounts, Companians, Tabards, Legendary items and more.
  • Season and World Events: Skettis, Abyssal Council, Ethereum Prison, Feast of Winter Veil, Hallow's End, Brewfest, etc.
  • Wishlist (NYI): Alt-click on any item to add it to the wishlist, alt-clicking on an item in the wishlist deletes it. There are buttons added to the Atlas panel and the loot browser to open the wishlist.
  • Partial Searching (NYI): Allows searching the whole AtlasLoot database for an item where you only know part of the name.
  • Quicklooks (NYI): Bind up to ten loot tables to 'Quicklook' buttons, allowing you to jump to them with only one click.

Slash Commands
  • '/al' or '/atlasloot' by itself brings up the loot browser.
  • '/atlasloot options' brings up the options menu.
  • '/atlasloot reset' resets the last viewed loot table (fixes disconnects when opening AtlasLoot) and moves all draggable frames back to the middle of the screen.
  • '/atlasloot mmb' toggles the minimap button on / off.
  • '/atlasloot togglebg' toggles background pictures on / off.
  • '/atlasloot wishlist' opens the Wishlist frame. (NYI)

History

AtlasLoot was originally created by Pernicius as a plugin for Atlas and contained a handful of raid loot tables to browse. Unfortunately, Pernicius was unable to maintain the mod, so Daviesh took over and renamed it to AtlasLoot Enhanced to provide a distinction between the two versions. Since that time, AtlasLoot has grown to cover every loot table for every boss, every item set, PvP Items and items for every reputation faction. In January 2010 Hegarol took over the project from Daviesh. Finally, in 2014/2015 Lag completely rewrote the entire addon for AtlasLoot v8.

Thanks to

Too many to list now, but they include Asurn, Dan, Diablohu, K2hyun, KKram, Pownas, Sohonmr2, Telic, 560889223 and probably more we have missed.

The packager that creates the zip files always grabs the latest libraries from the wowace repos. Some libraries like LibStub and CallbackHandler are quite small (LibStub is 30 lines) as they only do one simple vital thing and must strictly always behave the same way for all the libraries to be intercompatible. LibStub in particular was locked in well before the Ace3 spec was finalised as every single Ace3 (and Rock) library needs it to operate. As such, updates are very infrequent as they would require every single other existing library to change as well.

I imagine the next time those get revisited is the next wholesale API change from Blizzard (Cataclysm maybe?).
Well, that's something from how I spotted this.
I always update addons by hands, even running diff over most interesting places to see what's going on.
I just noticed this difference from the previous release. It's not about "change something that works", it mostly about "why new release contains files dated before previous release". May be package manager backfired, or did they changed something to place files with proper dates? (I know at least unix cp command killing file dates by default, which shocked me when I figured it first time)

The difference this time is I had to craft the zip file by hand as the wowace packager was down (or so I thought, turns out the web interface to it was stuffed), so the dates are just the last time the SVN update process found a newer file for my development build.

I think i've found a problem with ToC5 Normal/HC loot.
There's alot of ilevel:219 items listed as drop from ToC normal, while it never drop anything over 213.

Or at least the reverse lookup is broken.
It listed as drop from HC when you looking instance table, but in wishlist it is listed as drop from normal mode.

A significant issue with the Emblem of Triumph Rewards loot subsection in v5.08.06 & every release since v5.04.01. Its completely missing all the T9 "Conquest" ilevel 232 armor available from Aspirant Naradiel in Icecrown. As well as (slightly less importantly) the ilevel 245 armor availible from Valiant Laradia in the same area .

Those ilevel 232 items are purchasable with Emblems of Triumph alone; the ilevel 245 versions require Trophies of the Crusade as well. Yet they are missing from the loot subsection showing what you can purchase with such emblems. Which is a major problem. For those who trust AtlasLoot to make purchase decisions, people potentially will overlook the items not shown in that subsection. Especially since they come from different vendors in different parts of the world.

Yes, that armor is shown in the "T9" loot subsections. But to have one (or both) armor types missing from the section showing what you can buy with such emblems is likely confusing to many users. It can potentially lead to non-ideal purchases. Heck, it took me longer than it should have to realize you could buy armor other than what was shown in the Emblem of Triumph Rewards subsection with those.

So if everything that is purchasable with Triumph emblems could be added to the Emblem of Triumph Rewards loot subsection, it would resolve the noted issues.

The reason things are the way they are is that linking pages together is a non-trivial process if the page needs to be linkable from multiple places. The simplistic solution is to create two copies of the loot pages, but to constrain memory I need to so some consolidation, which is really where what you suggest is at, waiting for me to edit the second copy. This was not an issue when the tokens only purchased the generic Tier X token pieces for the raiding sets. The current setup is also consistent with the Arena PvP sets, some of which have always been purchasable with tokens, yet did not appear in the specific token section.

It's to do with the reverse lookup, but it is not broken. The reverse lookup only tags something as Heroic if the name of the table the item comes from is tagged as such. In those cases where heroic and normal loot have been put on one loot page side-by-side to save memory (and maintainence!), it doesn't try and distinguish between heroic and normal.

Understandable. But this is one of the few times where using more system resources (memory, which is far less important than CPU) is very likely an acceptable tradeoff.

Because how it is now--with things missing from loot tables you expect them in--it decreases the trust you can put in AtlasLoot for displaying data properly. As well as making upgrade planning and/or linking for other people a lot more of a hassle.

OK. But that's a small percentage of the WoW/AtlasLoot-user population compared with those now acquiring Triumph emblems. So hopefully we can get emblem lists which are properly populated soon, even if it does take more memory.

These things have always been missing as it was assumed common knowledge that those things were available with tokens. You are one of only a couple of people that have brought it up (and probably the most eloquent! Makes my life easier when requests are clearly articulated).

A link to the Tier 9 and Arena sets has been added to the EoT menu for the next version that goes out.

Any way the "Tribute" chests for heroic 10 and 25 TotC can be fixed? Kinda depressing getting Tribute to mad skill and there being no Cloaks in the chest. I guess you only get those with Tribute to Insanity. Unless Im wrong and we get screwed outta loot =/

Not my fault!! :-)

Babble changed in the last update and now 'Illidari Council' does not exist any more. I'll have to do an update for that.
