This addon stops goldspam messages from showing in your chatframes. To detect spam, SpamSentry uses sophistacted heuristics that have been developed over the course of over two years. Caught spammers can easily be reported using an intuitive one-click report system. SpamSentry features an LDB plugin that provides some simple status info, and gives you quick access to the options and the reporting window.

Installation:
* Unzip the file into your 'Interface/Addons' folder.

Features:
* Detects multi-message spam
* Customisable notification
* LibDataBroker (LDB) support (FuBar users can download Broker2FuBar to show the SpamSentry icon)
* Compatible with Whisp, Chatter and Wim
* Seperate reportlists are maintained for each realm you play on
* And many more

Use:
* Left click the LDB icon to show a list of blocked messages
* Type /sentry or right-click the icon for options

How to help:
* If a spam-message isn't recognised:
1. Report the spammer by right-clicking the name in the chat window and selecting "Report Spam"
2. Control-click the SpamSentry icon
3. Send me a PM with the code sequence
* If you encounter a false positive:
1. Click the message in SpamSentry main-window
2. Send me a PM containing that message

Performance notes:
* All code has been designed to minimize parsing-time, and maximize performance for raiding.
* The addon currently uses about 150kB memory (Patch 3.0 GetAddOnMemoryUsage(), no libraries).
* Toggle the statistics option in the configuration screen to show session statistics in the tooltip.

Known issues:
* Blizzard made an a-typical implementation for who-queries. You may notice slow response on the /who command while using this mod when the chat is crowded.
* Textballoons from says and yells are still shown. Blizzard currently provides no way to block textballoons.

The fact that you can't manually add spammers suggests another addon is conflicting, and this also means that most likely the normal filtering won't work as intended either. I suggest you turn off a few addons at a time to find the culprit. If you have a fair idea of what addon is causing the trouble I would love to know, so that I can update my code for compatibility if possible. Striph: This didn't use to be a problem, but with the increased spamrate, it has become a major nuisance indeed. I have fixed this for the next release, which is in betatesting atm. Most likely I'll upload the new version of SpamSentry this weekend.

Striph A Deviate Faerie Dragon Forum posts: 13 File comments: 21 Uploads: 5	After installing SpamSentry if I have my guild window open it will randomly close itself, if I disable the SS addon then this doesn't happen. Have you found a bug or anything thats hooking into the guild window, maybe the routine that adds the right click report name/spam is closing the window? All i know is its more irritating than the spam messages.

Thank you for creating something to deal with these annoying people while trying to enjoy this game. I have been unable to use 2 features with this mod, I was wondering if it was the mod (known bug?) or a potential conflict with another mod i have installed. When a spammed message gets through the filter, I cannot do the following: 1) Right click on their name and report spam. Nothing happens when I perform this action. 2) If I try to use this command to assist your filtering: /sentry spam feedback <insert name here> A window will pop up entitled: SpamSentry Copy this sequence and submit it to the mod-author. And this window is blank. Anea A Defias Bandit Forum posts: 2 File comments: 66 Uploads: 2	The version numbers are a bit selusive as wowinterface was a bit Fu when I uploaded the latest version and the filenames got messy. 20070502 is identical to 20070501-2. Mind: The no-reply notice is only displayed once, so you won't get to see it anymore after upgrading. You can manually edit the tickettext from the options menu and add a line [NO REPLY NEEDED].

However, even though I clicked on the main link for the supposedly latest version, there was no "no reply needed" text or option anywhere to be seen. Hmm... now that I check the readme.txt, it doesn't seem to be the latest version at all, even though I know I clicked the right download link. I'll try again and see if I get the latest this time.

I heard about it from another player one of these last few nights (sorry I forgot your name). Im getting a "The specified file was not found." when I try to DL it. I really love the fact that this mod was created. Its getting tiresome getting whispers. I understand free market and all, but if I really wanted gold, PL, or some other service, I should be hunting them down not the reverse, and not in such a rude way. Ill be back to check for responses, and keep up the good work. I love the thought of blocking them out and being able to report with a click.

Well.. the keyword "multi msg" raises my question. Will this mod block users from recieving multi msg of GemList and/or EnchantList? I am a JCer and a Prot Warrior. So yeah i am busy in dungons killing mobs when people ask me what gems i can cut for this or that stats. So I got myself GemList which is a mod that allows users to check what I can cut without me recieving any tells or any interuption, yet provide them with full service of list of gems i can cut. Yeah I get lazy and msg myself to see what gems I can cut for specific stats. I am sure other people like to use SpamSentry yet use my GemList mod. So if someone uses SpamSentry, will they still be able to use my mod and recieve multi msg spam of gem lists or will they be blocked because of multi spam trigger? Most likely the same question will be raised with EnchantList and others. X

I accidentally packaged a file I was working on instead of the stable release. Unfortunately wowinterface won't let me update the files at this point, so please download a prior release, while I try to get the fixed version online. Anea
