Grid  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.0.2.1679-beta
by: Phanx, Greltok, Pastamancer
Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.
The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Please do not use the Bug/Feature buttons to the right, or send me PMs to ask for help, report problems, or request features. Use the links below instead!

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

IMPORTANT: If you did not download Grid from this page, do not post on this page about any problems you encounter with it. Alpha versions from WowAce are development snapshots, are not officially supported, and may be buggy or broken, delete your settings, or crash your game. Copies of Grid obtained from anywhere other than the official download pages on WoWInterface and WowAce/Curse are not supported at all.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

Re: Re: Grid box cannot be modified

What region are you playing in? Grid 1.30300.1308 is not compatible with WoW 4.0.1, and as such is no longer supported. If your locale has not yet patched to 4.0.1, you'll just have to wait, as no further fixes or changes will be made for older versions of WoW.
Strange. I downloaded the one from this site on Wednesday which said it was compatible with 4.01. Maybe it didnt update on my system even though I rebooted WoW. Thanks for your swift reply

This means you are missing the AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets library, which is normally embedded (included) inside the Grid addon folder. Either you did not install Grid correctly, or you are running in a standalone library environment and do not have this library installed.

Not sure if you would call this a bug or not...personally just think its something to you probably are going to be ironing out.

The Texture Selection drop down is very small and is listing the entire path for all the textures making it very hard to select a texture. Just letting you know in case you didn't.

Thank you again for the great addon, and loving the rewrite to Ace3. Always glad to see less resource Usage.

Yes, as per the "Known Issues" list at the top of the addon description, most plugins are no longer compatible, as a consequence of transitioning away from the dead Ace2 framework.

Please only report issues here that exist when Grid itself is the only addon enabled; we don't provide support for plugins, and it's entirely the plugin author's responsibility to ensure that their code works with Grid. It takes less than 30 seconds of your time to log out, disable your plugins, and log back in to see if the problem goes away. Every time we have to respond to a bug report that involves a plugin, that's time that isn't being spent fixing real issues.

Finally, make sure when quoting other comments that you only include the relevant part, especially for large comments.

Yes, you are mistaken. Grid has never included any options to disable, hide, or otherwise modify any part of the Blizzard UI.

See the "Known Issues" section at the top of the addon description.

No options have been removed, or even moved. You're probably looking for Layout > Advanced > Layout Anchor or Group Anchor.

Thank you for answering! I love your addon I'm playing in the Ru locale and I seem to have found out at least one of the reasons for the problem. When I disable GridRaidDebuff it seems okay, i can configure options and type /grid (i can press enter after typing this exact command which I couldn't). I'll test a bit more. For some reason I cannot register at wowace now to report it in a ticket - it keeps saying "bad request" Sorry...

Grid box cannot be modified

Hi,

Firstly, I LOVE grid so thank you for an amazing addon. I have downloaded the newest version and I can see the set up window for Grid but I can't change the size of the box itself. It is very tiny and I can move it around but can't configure it. Any ideas? I also have clique installed.

Thanks

Party frame

Am I mistaken in that the old grid had an option to disable the blizzard party frame? I could be wrong but I do know for a fact that while using grid I never had the blizz party/raid frames up. Can anyone help me please, thanks!

Also, I'm having the same problem that was mentioned before regarding the Grid not updating when someone is moved/added/etc to a raid or bg. The only thing that seemed to work was to reload the UI entirely. Though that seemed to randomly make raid frame s(mine in specific) disappear.

Thank you again for the hard work you guys put in!!

I have been using Grid for a number of years. In the past I have been able to create my own custom "auras" which could identify which spells I have active on a party or raid member. I cannot seem to find this option in the in addon that I downloaded today (1.30300.1308) It is something that I find very important as a healer.

If the option still exists, can you please point me in the right direction?
