Grid  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.0.2.1679-beta
by: Phanx, Greltok, Pastamancer
Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.
The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Please do not use the Bug/Feature buttons to the right, or send me PMs to ask for help, report problems, or request features. Use the links below instead!

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Need Help?
IMPORTANT: If you did not download Grid from this page, do not post on this page about any problems you encounter with it. Alpha versions from WowAce are development snapshots, are not officially supported, and may be buggy or broken, delete your settings, or crash your game. Copies of Grid obtained from anywhere other than the official download pages on WoWInterface and WowAce/Curse are not supported at all.
Found a bug?
Please submit a bug report to let us know about the problem so we can fix it!
Problem with a plugin?
Contact the plugin’s author for help. The Grid team cannot provide support for third-party plugins.
Have a suggestion?
Feel free to tell us about your idea, but please make sure there isn’t already a plugin that adds the feature you’re looking for first!
Questions? Comments?
Post a comment on this page, or post in our WowAce forum thread.
Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

  • Removed combined count/duration option for aura text (feel free to use a plugin if you want to spam yourself)
  • [API] GridRoster's IsGUIDInRaid method has been renamed to IsGUIDInGroup. The old name still exists as an alias, but plugins are encouraged to update anyway.

  • Added clamp insets to allow the frame borders to be offscreen
  • Fixed dispel capability detection for druids, and for warlocks with imps
  • Fixed the "World Raid as 40 Player" option (thanks Greltok)
  • Fixed the default aura status for Eternal Flame
  • Fixed errors from the resurrection status module

Version 5.2.0.1573

  • Added a By Class 40 layout
  • Added an option to use the 40-Player Raid layout while in a raid group outside of an instance
  • Added an option to change the layout frame background texture
  • Removed the "Clamp to screen" option; the frame is now permanently clamped, since there's no real reason to allow it to be moved off-screen
  • Changed the "Hide tab" and "Hide minimap icon" option to "Show tab" and "Show minimap icon" -- translators should verify the localization of these options

Version 5.1.0.1553

Version 5.0.5.1537
  • Added default buffs for monks.
  • Added an option to show the Debuff Type statuses only when your character can dispel them.
  • Grid is now hidden during pet battles (ticket #643).
  • Status opacity now has its own option, instead of being part of the status color option.
  • Fixed an issue with range checking while solo (ticket #627).
  • Fixed an issue causing icons to be hidden on auras with duration text or coloring enabled (ticket #644).
  • Removed backwards compatibility with WoW 4.x.
  • The Resurrect status module now uses LibResInfo-1.0.
  • Added partial Italian localization from kappesante and Holydeath1984.
  • Removed the Class Filter and Range Filter options for statuses. This was announced on the download page and in the forum thread months ago, and nobody presented any compelling arguments for keeping these options, but if you missed the announcements, and this change ruins your life, please come to the WowAce forum thread and tell us why they were useful.

Version 5.0.4.1520
Version 5.0.4.1517
  • Updated for WoW 5.0.4

  • Fixed the text color when disabling the "Invert text color" option.
  • Fixed range checking on dead targets for monks.
  • Fixed the Resurrection module's handling of res casts on targets who already had a res available.
  • Fixed errors in Spanish clients (ticket #611).
  • Added monks to the By Class layouts.
  • Added the Blizzard raid bar texture.
  • Increased the default font size from 11 to 12.
  • Increased the default width of the config frame to prevent random wrapping bugs.
  • [API] Status parameter may be passed as either the traditional argument list, or as a table.
  • [API] Status "range" parameter is now treated as a boolean, not a number.

There's an open ticket for this issue http://www.wowace.com/trac/ticket/97

I need a way to reliably reproduce the bug, unfortunately it seems to be random. Reloading the UI usually fixes it, but I'd much rather it not happen in the first place.

The next time this happens to you, turn on debugging for the GridFrame module and then run /script GridFrame:ListRegisteredFrames() and check your combat log (or whatever ChatFrame2 is for you). The output will help me figure out what's causing this problem.

I have an issue though. It seems that quite often a spot in the raidframes becomes 'dead', as in clicking on whoever's in that spot at the time doesn't target them. The spot varies, it's usually near the last group.

As an example this is from an AB from earlier: http://img320.imageshack.us/img320/5...ickablefq0.jpg. Apologies for the poor quality, MSPaint In the image every single person is clickable except the person at the end of the second group (in this case Mot..) I've tried playing around with grid's config a lot to try to fix it, and I've also tried using old versions, and the current beta (from WoWAce) before reverting back to the 19919 build as I had the issue with all of them.

I get no errors or anything when clicking on the target. Just nothing happens, although mousing over the target does display the tooltip. Any ideas?

And as per the requested info thing: I'm using grid r19919 atm. I've tried 18940, and 22790 (from WoWAce) both of which I had the same problem with, and I'm using WoWEU current version (2.0.1 iirc.)

This is interesting. When I look at my addons page at the character screen, each mod that uses ACE have "Ace2" after the name. With out exception, all the mods but MrPlow the letters are of a different color than Grid's "Ace2".

Being that Grid is working fine otherwise I think I can wait for the next update of Grid. Thanks again for the great mod.

Great add-on. It makes healing in battlegrounds tolerable, and that's no small feat!

Interface\FrameXML\ChatFrame.lua:3008:AceConsole-2.0: AceConsole-2.0: Option handler "IsActive" not found.

I tried deleting Grid, starting WoW, reinstalling Grid, then restarting WoW . . . same result. Help?

You can either edit GridLayoutLayouts.lua or take a look at GridLayoutCustom which unfortunately comes with little-to-no documentation.

Then go to Frame -> Indicators, choose an indicator (say top left or border, choose whatever works for you) and check 'Buff: Power Word: Shield'.

You can add buffs like Power Word: Fortitude and Divine Spirit in the same fashion, but you will have to add the buffs in the Auras menu.
I meant fortitude, sorry! But where is the aura menu? I dont get it! Plus is there timers as well, when you have fort, or like a HOT on?

NM, found it Just had to mess around more with the interface.
