Grid  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.0.3.1
by: Phanx, Trelis

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.

The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Please do not use the Bug/Feature buttons to the right, or send me PMs to ask for help, report problems, or request features. Use the links below instead!

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

### Version 7.0.3.1

* Fixed ticket 834 Show offline option broken. Thanks Samuelreus.
* Fixed ticket 833 Layout none in non-English locale. Thanks Elnarfim.
* Package with libraries should include new LibResInfo for ticket 828.
* Mark code for splitGroups as debug in Layouts because the option is marked
as debug. Should fix odd behavior for people who had option enabled before
the option was disabled.

### Version 7.0.3.0-beta

* Updated for WoW 7.0 (Legion)
* Added options for offline and wrong zone groups

### Version 6.2.0.1754-beta

* Updated ToC for 6.2
* Fixed autolayout by group: it now shows as many groups as needed to show the highest group with an online player in it when in group mode. (ticket #795)
* Another fix for pets not being displayed (ticket #798)
* Fix for right-click menu enabled on startup despite setting (ticket #807)
* Fix for layout when in a party (not raid) in the world

### Version 6.0.3.1746-beta

* Layout size is now based on the maximum group size for the current instance, rather than the actual group size, to resolve several issues (ticket #795)
* Fixed pets not being displayed when using the By Group layout (ticket #798)
* Fixed the Low Mana Warning status not activating (ticket #780)

#### Known issues in this version

* The background frame does not always resize itself correctly when the group size changes in combat.
* Some group members may still be hidden if your raid is full (20 players in a mythic raid, 30 players in other difficulties) but you have arranged your raid groups so that not all groups are full (eg. only 2 players in group 1). If you use this kind of group arrangement, please post a ticket or in the forum thread to let me know.

### Version 6.0.3.1740-beta

* Fixed a number of layout-related issues
* Fixed an error when switching profiles (ticket #783)
* Fixed an issue with the Center Icon size (ticket #785)
* Fixed an issue with the Mouseover status sticking or activating randomly (ticket #791)
* Added a status to display Stagger on monks (thanks Greltok!)

### Version 6.0.3.1714-beta

* There is now only one "Raid" layout selection, and the built-in layouts will automatically adjust to match your current instance type and group size.
* There is now a "By Role" layout that will group players by their assigned tank/healer/damager roles.
* There are no longer separate "w/ Pets" layouts; use the "Show Pets" option on the Layout tab to add pets to any of the built-in layouts.

-------------------

### Version 6.0.3.1710

* Temporary fix for raid difficulty detection: LFR, Normal, and Heroic will use your chosen "Flexible Raid" layout, and Mythic will use your "25 Player Raid" layout. In the near future, all built-in layouts will automatically adjust their size for your current raid, and there will only be one "Raid" layout setting.
* Fixed an issue with right-click bindings in Clique (ticket #747)
* Fixed the Mouseover status not triggering when "Show Tooltip" was set to "Never" (ticket #770)
* Fixed another issue with status counts (eg. aura stacks) (ticket #768)
* Fixed the Resurrection status (ticket #745)

#### Known issues in this version:

* WoW is currently reporting incoming heal and absorb amounts that are much too small, so Grid will also show incoming heal and absorb amounts that are much too small. There is nothing I can do about this other than wait for Blizzard to fix the problem on their end.

-------------------

i'm so glad Grid is working now with the patch, i'm lost without it to heal, the only problem i'm having is that sometimes Grid is not displaying the correct health, i always target the tank and heal the rest of the raid/group with grid, when healing some randoms to setup my config, a couple of times i saw the tank in 75% of health but on Grid it shows him on full health or it shows a dps with 10% of health when actually he is full health.

gonna reinstall and reconfigure, perhaps i move something xD

Thanks for a great addon

I have one more question about the incoming heal bar (sorry!) I wanted to make the incoming heal bar green so that it would contrast the unit health bar more. The only option that seemed to change anything with the incoming heal was Frame > Healing Bar Opacitiy, but that did not change the color.

So I went into the lua files > GridFrame.lua and found lines 474-486
function GridFrame.prototype:UpdateHealingBarColor()
if GridFrame.db.profile.invertBarColor then
local r, g, b, a = self.Bar:GetStatusBarColor()
self.HealingBar:SetStatusBarColor(0, 1, 0, a * GridFrame.db.profile.healingBar_intensity)
elseif self.HealingBar:GetValue() > 0 then
local alpha = 0.8
local healingBar_alpha = GridFrame.db.profile.healingBar_intensity * alpha
local bar_alpha = 1 - (1 - alpha) / (1 - healingBar_alpha)
self.Bar:SetStatusBarColor(0, 0, 0, bar_alpha)
self.HealingBar:SetStatusBarColor(0, 0, 0, healingBar_alpha)
else
self.Bar:SetStatusBarColor(0, 0, 0, 0.8)
end
I changed the part that I bolded (it was originally r, g ,b, a * ...) And yes! Green! But instead of getting the desired result of having just the incoming heal green, now my entire unit health turns green when getting healed.

To clarify, I would like it if just the incoming heal was green, and the health the unit already has remained the same color. What line(s) in the lua can I change to get this desired result?

Edit:
Found this thread on wowace from a year ago. http://www.wowace.com/addons/grid/tickets/193-incoming-heals/#c15
One of the comments did the exact same thing I did, except it sounds like it worked for him whereas I am having the above issue.

Thanks! And I found out my problem with the incoming heals bar not showing up. It was set at minimum of 5000 and my little shaman healer is only cranking 800ish at level 33.

I'd also like to see a way to make grid grow up. For most UI, the majority of your junk is at the bottom of the screen. Having grid grow down is just asking for an overlay, especially in battlegrounds like WG where you're in a completely full raid.

I am new to using grid and I have one big question. I can not seem to get incoming heals to show. Just to clarify this is what I mean:

To me incoming heals is when on a character healthbar, a green bar appears over the health. So say a character was at 50% health and I was going to heal him to 80%. His health would be displayed from 0-50% and a green bar representing the heal fills the space from 50-80%. Is there a way to get grid to do this?

Is there any way to make grid grow up instead of down? I have my grid set to horrizontal groups and I have it placed right over my player / target frames. I mainly do 10 mans so I set it for that. The only problem with this is when I go into a 15 or more people BG, group 3+ goes down into my player / target frames, so I would like these groups to go up instead. Thanks.

That's been asked and answered about a million times. The short answer is that the Blizzard template system upon which Grid relies does not support creating fake frames, or showing frames whose units don't currently exist, so a "configuration mode" is not possible.

If you don't have any friends or guildmates who are willing to sit in a raid group for a few minutes with you, joining a battleground is a good way to get a full Grid to see what your current settings will look like. Plus, you can show a frame for just yourself by setting your solo layout to anything other than "None" if you just need to test out things like icon sizing, etc.

Do you ever intend to add a configuration mode option? One that would fill in your grid spots as if you were in a raid because it can sometimes be a pain to get a raid group to configure your grid.

1. Try resetting your Grid profile, or switching to a new one with default settings.

2. If that doesn't resolve the issue, read the addon description under "How to report a bug in Grid".

That feature isn't, and hasn't ever been, part of the Grid core. If in the past you've had an option to duplicate your group, it was provided by a plugin. There are several layout-related plugins available, including one that restores the old by-class layouts for people who (for reasons I can't understand) want 11 columns/rows of 2-3 frames each on their screen. I don't have a link offhand; scroll through previous comments to find it.

It works perfectly except for one thing: my corners indicators doesn't work. Whatever I want to see, buff, aggro, debuff... it simply doesn't work.
What should I do ?

What about my other question - of seeing my party or who's in my group while I am raiding?

BTW ty for the quick response
