Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.0.3.3
by: Phanx, Trelis

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.

The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

Version 7.0.3.3
  • Really fixed the frames sometimes appearing behind the backdrop (ticket #840)

Version 7.0.3.2
  • Updated detection for dispellable debuffs (ticket #841)
  • Fixed the frames sometimes appearing behind the backdrop (ticket #840)
  • Fixed the frames disappearing if an invalid layout was selected (ticket #835)
  • Auras:
    • The default statuses for Grace, Earth Shield, Eternal Flame, Sacred Shield, and Weakened Soul have been removed, since these buffs (and debuff) were removed from the game.
    • New statuses have been added for Atonement, Beacon of Faith, and Clarity of Will.

Version 7.0.3.1
  • Fixed ticket 834 Show offline option broken. Thanks Samuelreus.
  • Fixed ticket 833 Layout none in non-English locale. Thanks Elnarfim.
  • Package with libraries should include new LibResInfo for ticket 828.
  • Mark code for splitGroups as debug in Layouts because the option is marked as debug. Should fix odd behavior for people who had option enabled before the option was disabled.

Version 7.0.3.0-beta
  • Updated for WoW 7.0 (Legion)
  • Added options for offline and wrong zone groups

Does GRID work okay with x-perl? Once I get some time I'm going to make some nice unit frames with Pitbull but for now X-perl is doing the job, so I just want to make sure there's no issues or anything I have to do special to get them to work with each other. Does grid overwrite the x-perl raid frames, or do I need to disable x-perl raid frames somehow? Thanks!

I haven't been able to figure this out anywhere else. What I would like is for Grid to display groups two columns per row, like:

G1G1G1G1G1 G2G2G2G2G2
G3G3G3G3G3 G4G4G4G4G4

How can I do this?

Also, less importantly, how can I change the incoming heal to green instead of it being the default health bar color (like VisualHeal in Pitbull)?

Is there a way to make grid only show up when I'm holding down a key, say the alt key or ctrl key?

For my personal use, I've modified the former version of oRA2Layouts, so that it automatically puts tanks and offtanks (both oRA2 nominated MT's or through the Blizzard UI) in a separate, left justified group. I also added some functionality to filter out the tanks from the rest of the groups, so the frames are not double (which they in fact were in the former oRA2Layout addon). Current layouts include
- 10 man + tanks
- 25 man + tanks
- 40 man + tanks

I haven't been bothered to do pet versions of the same, since I rarely heal pets in raids anyway. Toss me a PM, if you want a copy.

Cheers

I have a problem with Grid after the 3.1 patch. I have downloaded the most recent version of Grid from wowace's directory. This problem did not occur prior to upgrading to the 3.1 Grid update. I would log in, set everything up, and just do stuff like BGs or raiding. However, upon logging out and logging in, I encountered some graphical errors. My settings remain the same, but I see black boxes where names should be. Screenshots are provided below.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4462/griderror01.jpg
- black boxes appear upon joining a BG.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3530/griderror02.jpg
- black boxes remain, health deficits are appearing as they should

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/7789/griderror03.jpg
- black boxes remain, death icons and magic / disease debuffs appear as they should

Please help.

I love this addon, it's the best raid frame I have! The only problem I have with this addon now is that healing priests' Prayer of Healing spell is now targetable and usable outside of their party, BUT Grid is only showing the incoming heal from PoH going to that priest's party. It's certainly not making our healing team's life easier. Is there any way to correct this?

Is it possible to display incoming heals as green instead of the class color?

Further testing shows that I'm dumb, this line actually works:
Code:
if not status then status = 0 end

I had a simple error in GridStatusAggro.lua, comparing a number with nil on line 159.

On line 158 simply add:
Code:
if not status then return end
The function should then read:
Code:
function GridStatusAggro:UpdateUnit(unitid)
	if not unitid then
-- because sometimes the unitid can be nil... wtf?
		return
	end

	local guid = UnitGUID(unitid)
	local status = UnitThreatSituation(unitid)

	local settings = self.db.profile.alert_aggro
	local threat = settings.threat
if not status then return end
if (threat and (status > 0)) or (status > 1) then
		GridStatusAggro.core:SendStatusGained(guid, "alert_aggro",
											  settings.priority,
											  (settings.range and 40),
											  (threat and settings.threatcolors[status] or settings.color),
											  (threat and settings.threattexts[status] or settings.text),
											  nil,
											  nil,
											  settings.icon)
	else
		GridStatusAggro.core:SendStatusLost(guid, "alert_aggro")
	end
end
This shouldn't cause any problems.

You might check out my mod "Gyro: Get Your Raid On!". It lets you set up macros that are run when you enter and leave raids. In your GyroStartRaid macro you can use this:

/script GridLayoutFrame:Show()

...and in your GyroEndRaid macro you can use this:

/script GridLayoutFrame:Hide()

Basically, and I mean no offence by this. I want to use XPerl for Party Frames but as soon as I'm in a Raid I want to use Grid instead.

I was wondering how I could get the range checker working on my DK. I enjoy being able to tell which of my raid members is out of range of me.
