Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.4.1.1628
by: Phanx, Greltok, Pastamancer
Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.

Please do not use the Bug/Feature buttons to the right, or send me PMs asking for help, reporting bugs, or requesting features. Use the links below instead!

The compact grid of units lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Need Help?

IMPORTANT: If you are using any version of Grid other than the one posted on this page — such as an alpha version from WowAce — please do not post on this page about any problems you encounter with it. Alpha versions are development snapshots, are not officially supported, and may be buggy or broken, delete your settings, or crash your game. The release (and sometimes beta) versions posted to WoWInterface.com and Curse.com are actually tested.

Submit a bug report to let us know about the problem so we can fix it!

✤ Problem with a plugin?
Contact the plugin’s author for help. The Grid team cannot provide support for third-party plugins.

✤ Have a suggestion?
Feel free to tell us about your idea, but please make sure there isn’t already a plugin that adds the feature you’re looking for first!

✤ Questions? Comments?
Post a comment on this page, or post in our WowAce forum thread.

Language Support

Grid is compatible with English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文 game clients.

Grid is translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano (partial), Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

Hint: The WowAce interface for adding translations is rather cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into Notepad, fill in your translations, and then paste the new data back into the system using the Import function.

Credits

Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

  • Added a new Resurrect status module.
    • Please report any and all issues with this to the WowAce ticket tracker!
    • If you use the GridStatusRes plugin, you should disable it, or unassign its "Incoming resurrection" and "Resurrected" statuses from all indicators.

  • Fixed range checking on dead units (ticket #566).
  • Fixed the options for removing custom auras (thanks jlam).

Version 1.40000.1400-beta

  • Pets other than your own should now be displayed.

Version 1.40000.1360-alpha
  • Updated for Patch 4.0.1 and Cataclysm
  • Typing "/grid" will now open a real configuration UI.
  • Incoming heal data is now obtained from the WoW client itself. LibHealComm-4.0 is no longer supported.

PTR

I can speak for the PTR, and that it works fine there. However, they are supposedly working on a Grid2 based on Ace3, but from what I understand, it hasn't been worked on in some time.

I'm really worried by this because when WotLK goes live, Grid may die

I hope that's not the case, but I can't find any new stuff from the authors...it's like they've just disappeared.

This has probably been asked, but I've read around alot in this thread and can't seem to find an answer, I've also tried several addons and none of them provided the feature I wanted.

Is there a way to save the Grid Frame sizes for different Raid sizes?

Basically what I want to do is this, for a 40 man raid I want the Frame Widths to be 40, however when I join a 20 person raid for example, I have much more room on my screen and I'd like to set the Frame Widths to say 65. I'd like it if my Frame Widths adjusted automatically depending on the size of Raid I am in.

Would this be at all possible, or perhaps there is a plugin that does it..or am I just over looking a feature already implemented??

Grid no longer appears as a button on my minimap :(

Hi!

I just started using Grid and I made a beginners mistake I'm afraid. I unchecked the enable option. So now Grid is gone. And I don't know how to bring it back. I have tried disabling and enabling it in the add-ons menu of WoW. I've tried taking Grid out of the addons folder in the WoW folder and putting the original folder then in its place. I've tried updating, but I have the latest version.
I saw others asking the same question. But there's no reply to them. So I ask it myself. Sorry to bother anyone! Hope you can help.
Thanks!

I've latest version.
I recremend you make a macro like this:
Code:
/cast [target=mouseover] Divine Favor
 or /cast [target=player] Divine Favor
And bind that macro to your mouse button. I do not now Paladins, so I dunno what kind of spell Divine Favor is, but I recommend you try these respective macros, and bind them to your key if it works.

I, as well, would like to see a fix for the blue hand when a cast attempt is done on someone who is not in LoS... Or at least a way to tell that they are "in range" but out of LoS so I am not wasting my time trying to cast spells on those folks.
But other than that - it's a GREAT addon, and I wish I had started using it a long long time ago.

Same Problem here... how can I move this great Addon around?

Thanks for help... Namica

// Found out: You have to go UNDER the Frame, then you can move it with your left mouse button. Simple...

Just wondering:

Would it be possible at some point to add custom Targets?

Meaning selecting specific raid members and putting them in one custom group so they are all together.

I have asked this question is the past but never had a response.

Regards

i will try again to tell what i need, maybe i will get answer and also i hope i will get understanded better

please..
1. make maximum frame width bigger then 100 (i may use even 250 in party)
2. make it possible to arrange units on 2 lines, or add maximum units per line
3. please make a posibility to chose the way the grids are affected on mouse-over, because the curent mouse over modification make it harder to see the health of the player bar that need a heal.
4. i would like the square of the debufs to be added one for every debuff.
5. make it possible to chose to not display the debufs that are short duration, unharmful, or uncurable.
6. i would love a feature to chose between profiles of arranging units, that has to include frame width/ heigth, position of the entire grid of players, and the arrange rule.
7. and finaly, the problem that i came for on this forum:
when i click to cast with clique adon on a party frame that is out of range, i get the gray hand instead of the spell canceled. i must say that this behaviour is the same as with the default party frames, but i would really like to get the behaviour with the spell canceled instead of the normal wow behaviour.

can someone help pls with the click to cast problem?
i want to disable the "blue hand" cursor problem in the game, when trying to cast a spell on a target that is not reachable.
tryed to talk with the guy from clique addon, he answered but as it seems the type of grid maybe should have a different functionality

hi there,
please tell me a solution to the following problem
i use grid + clique
when i have a player out of range, i get a gray highlighted cursor and have to click on "air" to be able to heal again, or just click one time on a bar and after that it comes back to normal being able to heal again.
like this i loose 1 click every time i click first on an out of range target
please come with a solution to this

also 3 more things that i would like to benefit from
1. please make it possible to change the way the mouse over a frame affects that frame, as because it affects the black part of the frame (when the frame player has low life) and that makes impossible to see how much healing i am going to do to him.
2. please do something about storing profiles with arranging the units in 5 /10/25 people group, and make it easy to access.
- make it possible to arrange my units with 3 columns and 8 lines if i want that in my raid group.
3. please alow a larger size for the width of the bars, as i want to use this addon together with clique, and i want to see as much health bar as possible.
4. Please make it possible to see multiple debuffs dots in case that one unit has more debufs on him
also please alow a posibility to chose not to display non harmful debufs, the debufs that cannot be dispelled and also the debufs that have a verry low time duration.
thx alot
great addon

very nice addon, hope at least to fix the clicking to heal problem

I would just like to express my great gratitude to the author of this AddOn - this is a beautiful piece of work - I really can't say enough positive things about it... It's worked flawlessly for me since I installed it, and together with Clique it's just Pure magick. Thanks a million, and please keep up the good work! :-)
