Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.

The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.

Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

/bow for such a nice addon

my friends and i have all the same problem, when we got disconnect during a fight and than loging in (while the fight still continues) my grid addon wont be shown until the fight ends.

can that be fixed?

Grid Out of Range Check Not Totally Accurate

Has anyone had issues with the Out of Range check on Grid? I find that on my Druid it will mark the person out of range too soon. Grid will grey out their name at maybe 36-38 yards when healing can occur up to 40 yards. I checked the GridStatusRange.lua file and it seems to be hard-coded at 40 yards. I tried changing the value to 42 but didn't seem to help.

I would rather Grid error on the side of caution, i.e. mark someone out of range when they aren't then having them shown in range when they are really out of range. So I can't complain too much about this. Just wondering if anyone has found a way to make this more accurate.

I have bumped down the range check to .5 seconds and the priority up to 99 and I have the same issue.

I keep getting this error message every time i have my mouse over a person in grid:


I get this, even though it is the ONLY addon i run, so it cant be interference from another addons.. What have i fucked up? Dont know what is wrong, since is still makes the error, when Grid is the ONLY thing running..

I've been told that it shoudnt use anything called FrameXML anymore, and I dont have any addons called this.. Only thing i have, is a FrameXML.log , wich ive tried to delete like 10.000 times...

This mod is GREAT. I love it for both my priest and druid. Makes healing simple when combined with Clique. However, since the latest patch its been popping errors up whenever I mouseover it the first few times. Also, for some reason I cannot target the Shamans in my group either. Is this mod still being maintained? I've been unable to find a home site for it, and I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this, but I like it so much that I can't imagine WoW without it now. Thanks

Does anyone have or know of a good write-up on how to best set up and configure Grid?

Particularly, I would want to be able to see when someone is losing health (incremental) so that I know what type of heal to use on them.

Does anyone can tell how to disable a frame highlighting when I got my mouse over it ?

I love to keep my mouse over the grid player frame, over the one I need to heal and this highlighting is making a whole bar a bit blury, which is hard to spot if my target is loosing its life or not.

Hi, would like to use it but i got the grid middle of the screen and can not move it.
I'm not talking about the icon into the FuBar.

Can anyone tell me how to do that?
Can the grid be placed anywhere i want?
I have found it.
Just go with the mouse under the frame and left clic to move it.

Aura Wildcards / Boolean Operators?

First off great addon.

When raiding, it is not uncommon for a minority of members to die, such that a 1hr party-wide buff is not needed, and instead a 30 hr buff will be applied to them. Is there anyway to have an aura detect say, "Prayer of Fortitude" OR "Power Word: Fortitude"? I have my grid to detect if PoF is missing so when someone dies, I can't tell if they've received the 30min fort or lack thereof.

I do not know if this is possible currently (or in beta) but if not, how about some kind of wildcard/escape character to put in the aura's string that would match any buff w/the word Fortitude in it? Or perhaps allow boolean operators like, "Power Word: Fortitude OR Prayer of Fortitude"?

If there is a workaround for this conundrum, do tell

Also, and this bug may relate to the pertinence of my question, when toggling an aura on or off, the Grid display does not always update. Additionally, toggling the Frame's display for an aura on or off does not always update in the display either. Unless there is an interval that auras are checked for that I have missed... this is a bug right? lol well, good work either way, maybe you can clear some of this up.

Finally, is it possible for the plugin GridAlert to know the name of a player who triggers an alert? Not sure if you made GridAlert or used it...

help needed..


I really like this addon, but I'm having one problem with it that I just cannot solve.

I want the grid to always show the char name, if when his hp are not 100%.
No matter how much I messed with it, whenever a players takes some dmg, his name is removed from the grid and I can only see his health (of deficit of...).

I've seen that it's possible that keep the player's name at all times, could someone tell me how to accomplish this?

Health bar at dead

I was wondering if it's possible to just let the health bar empty when a player is dead.

I removed the "dead warning" from the health bar and the center text, making only appears a skull on the name...
but if i would make it appear as it had no hp how could i make?

PS i use the invert color option.
