Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.0.3.3
by: Phanx, Trelis

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.

The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

Version 7.0.3.3
  • Really fixed the frames sometimes appearing behind the backdrop (ticket #840)

Version 7.0.3.2
  • Updated detection for dispellable debuffs (ticket #841)
  • Fixed the frames sometimes appearing behind the backdrop (ticket #840)
  • Fixed the frames disappearing if an invalid layout was selected (ticket #835)

Ghorsley, do you have the 'health bar color' indicator enabled and if so, what statuses do you have assigned to it?

Additionally, please show me the output of '/print GridFrame.db.profile.statusmap.bar'.
Health bar color is not enabled, and the output of that command is:
{ --[[ table: 2698E580 ]]
alert_death = true,
alert_offline = true,
debuff_ghost = true,
unit_health = true
} --[[ table: 2698E580 ]]

Same before and after death. I even disabled all other grid components such as GridStatusHots etc, so just Grid was left, still the glitch occurs.

I just tried disabling all other addons, and still it occurs, so it must be a setting I have somewhere.

Just a quick point, you didn't link the screenshots properly on that page, just thought I'd mention it. It's just annoying, as the health bar's all become darker, so when you look at a raid, it's very difficult to distinguish classes from eachother when they are all full hp.

Does anybody have QuestsFu have a problem with Grid causing your Quest Tracker to ALWAYS be up? It is really starting to frustrate me.

I think having the health bar become more visible/colorful as the need for healing increases is good because it draws your eye to the units that need attention.

If you absolutely must have health bars that are less noticible as someone is losing health run '/grid GridFrame invert' or check 'Grid -> GridFrame -> Invert Bar Color'.

That's very subtle. I wouldn't have noticed without looking at both screenshots side-by-side. You can track the progress of this bug here.

And what statuses do you have assigned to the 'Frame Alpha' indicator?
I have: Death Warning, Debuff: Ghost, More than 40 yards away and Offline warning. However even after all these statuses are not applicable, the squares are still dark.

Is this an error on my part, or a glitch? Thanks

Interface\Addons\Grid\GridFrame.lua:591: Usage: GridLayoutPartyHeaderUnitButton1: SetAlpha(alpha 0 to 1)

I'm using the latest version. I double checked. I deleted the addon entirely and reinstalled it.
I'm not sure why you'd want to assign unit health to frame alpha, but I can see about making it possible.

Second one :

OK, I'm just silly. I didn't realize using Vista, wow now uses a public folder, so I was replacing addons in the old program files folder structure. Grrrrr.
