Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.4.1.1628
by: Phanx, Greltok, Pastamancer
Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.

Please do not use the Bug/Feature buttons to the right, or send me PMs asking for help, reporting bugs, or requesting features. Use the links below instead!

The compact grid of units lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

IMPORTANT: If you are using any version of Grid other than the one posted on this page — such as an alpha version from WowAce — please do not post on this page about any problems you encounter with it. Alpha versions are development snapshots, are not officially supported, and may be buggy or broken, delete your settings, or crash your game. The release (and sometimes beta) versions posted to WoWInterface.com and Curse.com are actually tested.

Language Support

Grid is compatible with English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文 game clients.

Grid is translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano (partial), Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

Hint: The WowAce interface for adding translations is rather cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into Notepad, fill in your translations, and then paste the new data back into the system using the Import function.

Credits

Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

Version 5.1.0.1553

  • Added a new Resurrect status module.
    • Please report any and all issues with this to the WowAce ticket tracker!
    • If you use the GridStatusRes plugin, you should disable it, or unassign its "Incoming resurrection" and "Resurrected" statuses from all indicators.
    • Core support for Soulstones will be added in a future release.
  • Fixed range checking on dead units (ticket #566).
  • Fixed the options for removing custom auras (thanks jlam).

Dear Amazing Grid author,

Can you please reply to some of our questions were having here?

1- We still have problems with the debuff icons being too large and taking up almost the entire space in a square effectively hiding the healt of the affected player. Healers need to see the healt of players while still seeing debuffs. Making the icons scalable would be nice and maybe adding an option to have them flash, actualy why not add the flashing option to all indicators or maybe even being able to assing the flashing to specific debuffs, that would be better since certain buffs are more important to debuffs than others, this would allow us to see when somone is in need of urgent debuffing.

2- Sometimes after someone died grid gets stuck on dead for that player (sometimes it happens to me too when i die), i have to quit group and rejoin to fix the addon or reloadui. An easy fix untill you figure out what this is would be to put something in the menu to force a reload of all the players in the group/raid, at least we wouldnt have to bug anyone or reload ui in the middle of a fight to fix it. (maybe add a keybind for this? or maybe assign it to the other mouse button click on the minimap icon)

3- I LOVE the option to see incoming heals on a target BUT, could you please put in an option to filter ourselves out ? I dont need to know that im healing someone but for mana efficiency and because some ppl dont use healing addons i NEED to know if an idiot is healing the same guy i am healing. Filtering out heals coming form ourselves would allow that, we could then prevent overhealing.

Thank you!

I realize that this is a bit late coming, but please note the Wowace link up near the top.

Download the latest version of Grid from there. That should solve the issues y'all have been having.

Class color

Hi, does anyone know if and how we can change the class colors?

I really dont like all the messing around thats been done with the shaman class color and id like to change it back in grid to what im used, that dark blue there is confusing the hell out of me and im having problems keep track of my own healt, on a black background theres just not enough contrast with that color.

I am also ready to edit lua code if need be, just please let me know what file the colors are set, i tried to look for it but i didnt find it.

Hi, can someone help me? The config menu isn't appearing

I just downloaded Grid and I'm trying to figure out how to use it. I see the grid button on the minimap but when I click on it, nothing happens. It's the menu where I configure indicators.

I can do all the grid adjustments through command line but it's a royal pain. Is there a reason why i can't get the menu to come up?

Also, how do I make it so those who are out of range are properly greyed out. RIght now, I can barely tell between who is in range or not. I woudl rather hvae their entire box blackened out and have their life bars more prevelant. I dont' care what debuff they have if I can't do anything about it. RIght now, it's a bit confusing.

Thanks!

Has anyone found any feedback to this issue? I have removed all of my other add-ons and still cannot use the menu icon on the mini-map. Any help would be appreciated.

hi thx for this mod i like it alot as its very compact unlike having large raid frames that takes up half the screen.

im just wondering that if its possible to have two centre text instead of just one. (upper portion 1 and lower portion another) so that whenever a raid member has -5k hp, i can not only see that he has that deficit, but also the top portion text still remain displaying his name.

same for when that player is dead, the top portion remains displaying his name while the lower portion says 'DEAD'

Health bar at dead

I was wondering if it's possible to just let the health bar empty when a player is dead.

I removed the "dead warning" from the health bar and the center text, making only appears a skull on the name...
but if i would make it appear as it had no hp how could i make?

PS i use the invert color option.

help needed..

Hi,

I really like this addon, but I'm having one problem with it that I just cannot solve.

I want the grid to always show the char name, if when his hp are not 100%.
No matter how much I messed with it, whenever a players takes some dmg, his name is removed from the grid and I can only see his health (of deficit of...).

I've seen that it's possible that keep the player's name at all times, could someone tell me how to accomplish this?

Thanks,
xypher

Aura Wildcards / Boolean Operators?

First off great addon.

When raiding, it is not uncommon for a minority of members to die, such that a 1hr party-wide buff is not needed, and instead a 30 hr buff will be applied to them. Is there anyway to have an aura detect say, "Prayer of Fortitude" OR "Power Word: Fortitude"? I have my grid to detect if PoF is missing so when someone dies, I can't tell if they've received the 30min fort or lack thereof.

I do not know if this is possible currently (or in beta) but if not, how about some kind of wildcard/escape character to put in the aura's string that would match any buff w/the word Fortitude in it? Or perhaps allow boolean operators like, "Power Word: Fortitude OR Prayer of Fortitude"?

If there is a workaround for this conundrum, do tell

Also, and this bug may relate to the pertinence of my question, when toggling an aura on or off, the Grid display does not always update. Additionally, toggling the Frame's display for an aura on or off does not always update in the display either. Unless there is an interval that auras are checked for that I have missed... this is a bug right? lol well, good work either way, maybe you can clear some of this up.

Finally, is it possible for the plugin GridAlert to know the name of a player who triggers an alert? Not sure if you made GridAlert or used it...

Thanks in advance.
