移除聊天框架的雜亂並新增一些功能。

  • Shortens chat channel names
  • Shortens cross-realm character names and Real ID player names
  • Replaces Real ID player names and BattleTags with WoW character names
  • Enables arrow keys without the Alt key (*)
  • Enables resizing chat frames by their edges
  • Makes all channels sticky (**)
  • Makes URLs clickable for easy copying
  • Moves the input box above the chat frame
  • Sets the delay time for chat text fading
  • Stops docked chat tabs from being dragged
  • Hides the scroll, menu, and social buttons
  • Hides extra textures on chat frames
  • Hides the flashing effect on chat tabs
  • Hides channel notification messages
  • Hides repeated messages in public channels
  • Enables class colored names in all channels with a single click
  • Changes the text size in all chat frames from a single control
(*) As of Patch 5.4 using Up/Down to access previously entered chat lines without the Alt key is limited to non-secure commands only. If you need to access previously entered secure commands (like /cast or /use) you will still need to hold the Alt key.

(**) If a channel is sticky, then after talking in that channel, the chat input box will open to the same chat type again, rather than making you type “/g” or “/ra” again.
Options & Commands
  • Type “/pchat” for options, or find them in the Interface Options.
  • Type “/clear” or “/clearchat” to clear all visible chat windows.
  • Type “/clear all” or “/clearchat all” to clear all chat windows.
  • Type “/tt" or “/wt” to send a whisper to your current target.
Some additional options, such as customizing which channels are made sticky and what abbreviations are used for channel names, are available by editing the Core.lua file in a plain-text editor such as Notepad. If you break something, download a fresh copy and try again.

Post a ticket or comment. If you are reporting a bug, please include directions I can follow to reproduce the bug, whether it still happens when all other addons are disabled, and the exact text of the related error message (if any) from Bugger.

The following features will never be added to PhanxChat, and requests for them will be deleted, so please just don't bother posting such requests:
  • Reskinned or recolored edit box, chat tabs, or anything else

  • Alerts for specific words or message types seen in chat
  • Mouseover tooltips on item or other links
  • Keybindings to open specific chat channels
  • Nicknames, main/alt aliases, group numbers, levels, or any other extra text

  • Fixed the term "battle.net" being turned into a clickable link.
  • Shift-clicking links into chat and cycling through previously entered chat lines will no longer insert an extra space.
  • The /pchat clear command is now just /clear and clears only visible chat frames by default. Use /clear all to clear all chat frames instead.
  • The /pchat command remains for opening the options window.

I get the following error when trying to start a real id conversation. The conversation starts.
I can type into its channel, but I can not see anything from myself or others in the conversation.

I hope this might help track it down.

Well, I was able to narrow down the error I was getting to the addon SpamageMeters, but if you're not getting errors when manually moving chat types to new windows, and still don't get automatic new windows when PhanxChat is the only addon enabled, I'll have to dig deeper into Blizzard's code. It may be a few days.

1: disabled all addons issue is still the same, start a conversation no new window.

2: I can open the trade window as described, I get 0 errors with all addons disabled and enabled.

1. Does the problem still happen when PhanxChat is the only addon enabled?

2. What happens when you right-click on a chat type (eg. Trade channel) and select "Move to new window" ? I'm getting an error when doing this, even when PhanxChat is disabled, but not when all addons are disabled. I'm trying to narrow it down now to see if I can figure out which addon(s) cause this to happen. I haven't gone through all of Blizzard's code yet, but I'm guessing that the internal workings of "open a BNet conversation in a new window" and "open Trade channel in a new window" are pretty similar, so it may be relevant.

chat style is set to IM

ah sec I will have to re-enable it.

If i set the tab below chat style which says "new real id conversations" to in-line. I can make them show up in already open windows now so 1 solution found. If i select new tab it wont open up.

hide textures had no different effect on it

Re: phanx

Well, I have zero plans to ever use Real ID, so you're going to have to be more helpful if you want me to fix it.

1. What setting are you using for the default UI's "Chat Style" option? If it is set to "Classic", no new windows are supposed to appear for special chat types. Either set the option to "IM", or make sure that one of your normal chat frames is configured to show Battle.net Conversation messages.

2. If the above is not relevant, can you see the windows if you disable PhanxChat, but leave all other addons enabled? If not, then it is not an issue with PhanxChat.

3. If the issue does not occur when you disable PhanxChat, does it occur when you enable PhanxChat and disable all other addons?

Edit:
Okay, since you seem to be seeing the new window with PhanxChat disabled, it's probably not an issue with the "Chat Style" option. I'll see if I can think of any other reasons why new windows might not be created when PhanxChat is enabled...

Edit #2:
I'm not sure how this would affect window creation, but what happens if you disable the "Hide extra textures" option in PhanxChat?

Here is a SS from what real id conversations look like with default chat.

http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/289/testng.jpg

when you right click on the tab it gives, it has the normal options with 1 extra setting. "Leave conversation"

with the new patch we can do conversations between real id friends, it opens a new window as like chat room. with phanx enabled it wont show properly, I can do /12 for the channel and type. Friends can read it but I cannot see it from them or myself. Not seeing any error.

What exactly is the problem? Any message type that PhanxChat doesn't specifically support should just be left alone; no message should ever be hidden or broken.

Anyway, I'm not using Real ID, and I have no idea what a "Real ID Conversation" is. If you can explain how it's used (eg. is it a whisper to one person? or more like party chat, or a custom chat channel, involving multiple people?) and provide a screenshot or type out some examples so I can see how the strings are formed (eg. "[BN Convo] [Johndoe]: y helo thar"), I'd be happy to add support for it.

this would probably be your 2nd question if battle.net conversation was ever used.

I didn't realize whispers from Real ID friends were different than normal whispers... I'll add those for the next release. Also, in Blizzard's code I see mention of a "Battle.net Conversation" chat type... is this ever used in-game as far as you know?

There are no individual options for which chat types are made sticky. The only way to make whispers not sticky, without editing the code, is to set the sticky channels option to "None".

Yes as of right now when moving the edit box on top you cannot click chat tabs as it opens the edit box instead.
The problem is that you are either illiterate or lazy, and failed to read the dozen or so previous posts in the last 72 hours explaining why this happens and how to stop it from happening.

Also the message pop up box when Realid friend logs stays over aligned where buttons were... if that could be moved when buttons are hidden to align with chat frame would be awesome
Again, this specific feature was already requested, and I have already explained why I will not add it to PhanxChat.

Probably not, as I don't use non-interactive windows and prefer not to add features that I will never use.

By adding

ChatTypeInfo.BN_WHISPER.sticky = 0

Under "ALL" settings (I modified that one to suit my needs) did the trick for me.
