移除聊天框架的雜亂並新增一些功能。

  • Shortens chat channel names
  • Shortens cross-realm character names and Real ID player names
  • Replaces Real ID player names and BattleTags with WoW character names
  • Enables arrow keys without the Alt key (*)
  • Enables resizing chat frames by their edges
  • Makes all channels sticky (**)
  • Makes URLs clickable for easy copying
  • Moves the input box above the chat frame
  • Sets the delay time for chat text fading
  • Stops docked chat tabs from being dragged
  • Hides the scroll, menu, and social buttons
  • Hides extra textures on chat frames
  • Hides the flashing effect on chat tabs
  • Hides channel notification messages
  • Hides repeated messages in public channels
  • Enables class colored names in all channels with a single click
  • Changes the text size in all chat frames from a single control
(*) As of Patch 5.4 using Up/Down to access previously entered chat lines without the Alt key is limited to non-secure commands only. If you need to access previously entered secure commands (like /cast or /use) you will still need to hold the Alt key.

(**) If a channel is sticky, then after talking in that channel, the chat input box will open to the same chat type again, rather than making you type “/g” or “/ra” again.
Options & Commands
  • Type “/pchat” for options, or find them in the Interface Options.
  • Type “/clear” or “/clearchat” to clear all visible chat windows.
  • Type “/clear all” or “/clearchat all” to clear all chat windows.
  • Type “/tt" or “/wt” to send a whisper to your current target.
Some additional options, such as customizing which channels are made sticky and what abbreviations are used for channel names, are available by editing the Core.lua file in a plain-text editor such as Notepad. If you break something, download a fresh copy and try again.

Feedback
Post a ticket or comment. If you are reporting a bug, please include directions I can follow to reproduce the bug, whether it still happens when all other addons are disabled, and the exact text of the related error message (if any) from Bugger.

The following features will never be added to PhanxChat, and requests for them will be deleted, so please just don't bother posting such requests:
  • Reskinned or recolored edit box, chat tabs, or anything else
  • Custom fonts, outlines, shadows, or text alignments
  • Freely movable/draggable edit box
  • Extra entries in the player name right-click menu
  • Extra click actions on player names (eg. alt-click to invite)
  • Alerts for specific words or message types seen in chat
  • Mouseover tooltips on item or other links
  • Keybindings to open specific chat channels
  • Nicknames, main/alt aliases, group numbers, levels, or any other extra text
  • Anything related to timestamps

  • Fixed the term "battle.net" being turned into a clickable link.
  • Shift-clicking links into chat and cycling through previously entered chat lines will no longer insert an extra space.
  • The /pchat clear command is now just /clear and clears only visible chat frames by default. Use /clear all to clear all chat frames instead.
  • The /pchat command remains for opening the options window.

Version 6.0.3.87
  • Fixed option to disable chat fading

  • The "Replace real names" option will continue to replace both Real ID names and BattleTags with character names.

I'm not sure if it's PhanxChat causing this or not, it's a good assumption though.

The problem is when someone links a "long" url, I click it and the url gets cut off at the end of the visible part of the editbox.

Just the "Version" line from the TOC is sufficient. I ask for both that and the version you clicked to download in case the site is somehow giving you the wrong file.

If you're playing on US servers, you're in WoW 3.0.2, and the error you describe shouldn't happen... in fact, it's exactly what was happening that I fixed in version 3.0.2.22. Since it clearly is still happening, though, I'm going to need you to install an error handling addon that can get a full stack trace, not just the error shown by the Blizz errors popup. I'm currently using BugSack, but other options include tekErr and Swatter (part of the Auctioneer package). Once you've installed one of those, please reproduce the error, and then copy/paste the full multi-line stack trace as shown by the addon.

@mrdummy:
I have no idea, sorry. PhanxChat doesn't touch Blizzard's positioning code, for the chat frame or for anything else. See if the issue occurs when all addons are disabled. If not, start enabling addons one at a time until the issue occurs again; when it does, you'll have found the addon causing the problem. If it still happens without any addons, then it is indeed a Blizzard bug, and you'll have to let them know about it. I've never experienced an issue such as the one you describe, and don't particularly want to bulk up my addon with code that may or may not fix a problem I've never heard of and have no idea the cause of.

Small question. I tried move the chat windows to lower place in the GUI. And locked it with Blizzard chatlock.
But when i changed to another zone, the windows are again at wrong place (a little higher moved). I cannot keep it forced down. Only below is Dominos bars active and nothing much. But Dominos doesn't push both chat windows suddely little up?

Can you give me some advice to keep the chat windows lower and forced locked? I'm a bit tired with the small setting bug in the GUI where windows suddely goes little up when changed to another zone.

There's no obvious reason that error should occur. Please follow the steps outlined in the addon's description, under "Reporting Bugs", and then post a bug report ticket using the link there, with all of the requested information.

There's no checking against "real" TLDs because I didn't feel it was worth it to implement a table lookup of the hundreds of valid TLDs. How often do you see someone say "hey.lol"? I just don't see it as a problem for the rare occasion that someone forgets to add a space. If it bothers you that much, you can simply comment out the pattern that matches "hey.lol" in PhanxChat.lua.

Hi,
Can we get stricter regexes on URLs.
Saying things like "hey.lol" counts as a URL because there is no checking of tld or anything like that.

I personally wouldn't mind things like "someurl.tld" being missed if it meant false positives being eliminated.

#1 - I'll look into it.

#2 - No. There are so few messages from the server channels that it's not worth the code to selectively suppress only them. I wrote the channel notice suppression feature specifically to suppress custom channel notifications, because it annoyed me seeing "X joined channel" and "Y left channel" all night during raids. If you want to see that stuff, just disable the option and live with the few lines you get from the server channels when changing zones.

Same thing for me, suppress channels setting doesn't get saved and resets with each login, unlike suppress repeats that works fine.
