PhanxChat  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.0.2.250
by: Phanx, Akkorian

Remover a desordem da janela de bate-papo e adicionar algumas funcionalidades.
Удаляет беспорядок в окне чата и добавляет новые возможности.
移除聊天框的杂物并加入一些功能。
移除聊天框架的雜亂並新增一些功能。
  • Shortens chat channel names
  • Shortens cross-realm character names and Real ID player names
  • Replaces Real ID player names and BattleTags with WoW character names
  • Enables arrow keys without the Alt key (*)
  • Enables resizing chat frames by their edges
  • Makes all channels sticky (**)
  • Makes URLs clickable for easy copying
  • Moves the input box above the chat frame
  • Sets the delay time for chat text fading
  • Stops docked chat tabs from being dragged
  • Hides the scroll, menu, and social buttons
  • Hides extra textures on chat frames
  • Hides the flashing effect on chat tabs
  • Hides channel notification messages
  • Hides repeated messages in public channels
  • Enables class colored names in all channels with a single click
  • Changes the text size in all chat frames from a single control
(*) As of Patch 5.4 using Up/Down to access previously entered chat lines without the Alt key is limited to non-secure commands only. If you need to access previously entered secure commands (like /cast or /use) you will still need to hold the Alt key.

(**) If a channel is sticky, then after talking in that channel, the chat input box will open to the same chat type again, rather than making you type “/g” or “/ra” again.
Options & Commands
  • Type “/pchat” for options, or find them in the Interface Options.
  • Type “/pchat clear” to clear all chat windows.
  • Type “/tt" or “/wt” to send a whisper to your current target.
Some additional options, such as customizing which channels are made sticky and what abbreviations are used for channel names, are available by editing the Core.lua file in a plain-text editor such as Notepad. If you break something, download a fresh copy and try again.

  • Reskinned or recolored edit box, chat tabs, or anything else

Re: Custom channels

Just wondering what the string is for putting custom channels in.
Eg: bookclub > BC
See the extra info page on my portal (there's also a link in the addon description) under "Advanced Configuration". Specifically, you would need to add your channel and abbreviation to the customchannels table on line 50 in Core.lua.

After alot of searching, I was actually looking for this:
["bookclub"] = "BC",
which goes in after line 50.

But thanks

Yep. I just don't have the time or patience to walk everyone through how to edit Lua, especially when I have no idea if you've even seen code before, so I just point you at the page where it says "I won't help you with this even if you mess it up" and then give you a hint in case you have some idea what's going on in there.

Hehe, I can understand that. There used to be a line in there as reference but it seems to have been removed from later vers.

I found a bug, I think, maybe.

Anytime someone accidentally types something like test...test (a word with three periods and another word, all connected) it makes it a link. I tested this with and without Phanxchat turned on and it always does it with it on.

Can this be fixed?

It can be fixed, and actually already has been in my local copy. However, I'm trying to fix the issue where guild achievement messages appear with no player name for Korean users before I push a release.

No rush, Phanx. It's merely an irritation and doesn't really affect game play. Looking forward to your next release!

PhanxChat does not, and will not, include any options to change textures or colors for the chat edit box, or any other chat frame UI components. If you want that functionality, get an addon written for that purpose, like kgPanels or Skinner. More information can be found on my portal under the "Declined Features" heading.

If that's the most information you can provide, don't hold your breath for a "fix". Class colors are working fine for me. If you want me to spend more time than I've already spent typing this post looking into the problem, see the "Reporting Bugs" section in the addon description and follow the directions there. Thanks.

links

I just re-enabled url links in this new version to see if it was working better. Now, when someone links a piece of armor it displays their name in chat instead of the name of the armor. for example, a player named testdude links some new armor he just got and I see "testdude: look what i just got testdude". The tooltip still displays the correct link, but the chat does not display correctly.

this only happened after turning url links on in the newest version. also it does not appear to always happen, as some links still display correctly.

--------------------------------------------------
hm, well i'm not quite sure now. i disabled url links and i'm still seeing this problem. i don't know if it's a pchat bug or a blizz bug. it's not just item links, but achievement links are also bugged.

I'm not seeing that issue either. Could you be more specific about the types of messages where this is occuring? For example, does it happen only with items linked in guild chat? Trade chat? Emotes? Whispers? Loot messages? Are there specific player names or items that consistently exhibit this issue? Did you disable PhanxChat entirely and see if the issue persisted?
