Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map.

  • Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
  • Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
  • Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
  • Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
  • Guild Positions : show all guild members that also have Cartographer.
  • Instance Loot : shows loot tables when you click a boss note
  • Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
  • Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
  • Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
  • Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
  • POI : store notes that city guards point you to.
  • Professions : automatically tracks herbs, minerals, and treasure.
  • Waypoints : allow you to make waypoints and have a big arrow point the way.
  • Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the number of men the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

So what's all this talk and fuss about empty data bases?

The plugins for this mod have worked as intended for me.
They gather the data they are intended to gather and display it as intended.

Is the fuss over the mod author not supplying all the game data?
I should hope not, for crying out loud.
They are writing mods to collect and display this information.
They are not trying to pimp out a bunch of free data so others don't have to get it themselves.

The only way to get the data for this mod to use is to GO GET IT.
Until some people go gather, convert, import, or whatever the data and save it into a data file to share it won't be there.
It appears their import functions are in infancy at the moment but be patient.

So, rather than fuss over empty data bases, how about patiently waiting until someone supplies it. Or better yet, how about supplying some!

Cart will be the #1 addon one day. However at this time (as much as I think Ckk roxx) without functions like waypoints, and mob tagging ...and other such features that Mapnotes and Alphamap provide I cannot use it.

With that said, this addon will one day have all of that, and you must remember that Ckknight is writing 10,000 libs for the ace team besides just working on his own addons like Fubar and Carto ...just remember to go and put in a request in the link above. He does check them all the time and keep you in mind.

Cartographer Quests is a mod that makes notes for quest givers, it doesn't tell you the quests for instances the way AtlasQuest does. I second the request for a Cartographer Instance Quest mod of this kind, as it's also the only reason I'm still using Atlas.

I use Cartographer
Cartographer_Herbalism
Cartographer_Mining
Cartographer_Quests
Cartographer_Trainers
Cartographer_Vendors

I'd like to know if it's possible to share those databases. I was hoping that atleast the trainers and vendors would be fully populated already.

Also, the only thing keeping me from making the transistion from Atlas, AtlasLoot, AtlasQuest, is the missing AtlasQuest. Shows you all the quests for each instance. Where to get them, pre-reqs etc etc.

The circles and icons outside the minimap can simple fix by the author.
I posted it here and on the buglist.
The bug post was marking as fixed but every version on the svn hase the same old wrong code.
Every time I correct it on my copy by hand and I have no circles outside the minimap on each area.

The problem is in the file Notes.lua.
The calculating of the scaling factors at function Cartographer_Notes:IterateNearbyNotes and Cartographer_Notes:GetNearbyNote based on a wrong zone name so the factors will set to the default 1000 and 666.67.
The author defined global scaling factors by the correct zone name but he forget to use these.

Sorry but the author has to do many other things I think .
So he has no time to read this forum or the bug list.
It is a super addon but I miss the working with the user.

Yes, I have the same problem. Circles/Icons are far away from minimap. I donīt know how to post screenshots, but I have some :-). It is very annoying and they reach my other Addons :-(.
