flagRSP BC  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.6.0
by: Adriathys [More]

flagRSP BC is the original flagRSP AddOn updated and enhanced for the World of Warcraft 2.0 patch.

flagRSP BC is an AddOn that allows you to set a title, first name, and last name as well as setting a character status and a roleplaying flag. Other users of this AddOn or a compatible one, flagRSP2, ImmersionRP, or MyRolePlay, will be able to see these flags and you will be able to see theirs. This is mainly useful for RP and RP-PVP servers, but there's nothing preventing you from using this on servers of other types. Feel free to report any bugs or request features either here or on my portal.

If you do use this AddOn, do not use it with flagRSP2, ImmersionRP, or MyRolePlay as they will conflict.

flagRSP BC 0.6.0 Changes
Changes
- Numerous changes to reduce memory used.
- Tooltip code has been rewritten for faster performance.
- Works better, honest.

Bug Fixes
- Players who have never used flagRSP will now be able to have their data initialize correctly.
- No more error messages about tainting the default UI.

I'll look into this, but I'm not quite sure what could be causing it as the FriendlistData table should exist after logging in. If you used a previous version and you had entries stored on your Friendlist, type:
Code:
/script Friendlist.ConvertToPerCharacterFriendlist()
otherwise try:
Code:
/script Friendlist.InitializeData()
If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll go from there. As for descriptions not showing up, it's most likely caused by flagRSP hanging on that error.

Does it not show up at all or does it not show up only on certain people?

and another question, the previous version did hide the class and race text, can this be redone?
as i prefered it that way (maybe as a toggle in the options)
Hiding the class and race text was more of a bug than anything else, but I'll make it an option for 0.6.0 along with some other tooltip features I've got kicking around in my head.

I keep getting this error:

Interface\Addons\flagRSP\Friendlist.lua:570:
attempt to index global 'FriendlistData' (a nil value)

It pops up every few seconds, making it unplayable.

Also the mod simply does not work. Descriptions don't show up. This worked fine with the previous version.

Got a little problem with the new version, good is that the Guildline no longer is shown.

but when using FlagRSP Style tooltips i do not get the line showing "Roleplayer", " In Character", etc
this info only shows in the light tooltip version

and another question, the previous version did hide the class and race text, can this be redone?
as i prefered it that way (maybe as a toggle in the options)

but still big thanks for picking flagRSP up

I use a Square Minimap, and it hides the FlagRSP buttons standard location.
Typing /fl show will show the GUI and from there it works like normal. For 0.6.0, I'll see about adding better alternative minimap button support.

I'll try and have an update by tonight or tomorrow. A tooltip problem I wasn't aware of was brought to my attention and will need to be fixed. Once that's done, however, everything should be ready to go.

Though, can you elaborate on the character description icon hanging low? You can right click and drag it to move it around if it's not in the right place, I haven't had it happen to me, but I'd like to be able to fix it if possible before the next release.
Oh, I didn't know that icon could be moved as well. Then it might have been me moving it by accident, I have no way of knowing.

I've moved it back to it's proper position now, and all is well.

This is the absolutely best RP mod. Lovely interface and wonderful execution of the functionality.

I do hope it will be updated for the 2.1 patch, because I noticed at least one odd thing:

The small character description icon next to the portrait of targeted players is hanging a bit low after the patch...

This works great, and is a lot easier to cope with than a lot of the more topheavy solutions available.

Plus, everything shows up fine.

Thanks for keeping this working. We appreciate it.

Okay, a couple of questions first.

Do any errors appear when you log in?

Are you able to see the character status of other players? When you mouse over them, does their tooltip mention their roleplaying type or their character status?

Also, how many chat channels are you currently using? If you're in 10 channels, flagRSP won't work since it requires a hidden channel to communicate with others.

Edit: For what it's worth, I've fixed a bug that prevented descriptions from being displayed, but allowed character status and roleplaying flag to be displayed.

Thank you for keeping this great mod alive!

I've only recently re-registered my account and begun playing, and had to go through several FlagRSP "continuation projects" which all lacked the feature set and polish of the original! Thankfully, all these mods seem to use the original FlagRSP protocol in some way, so the RP community doesn't become completely splintered.

Great work!

Sorry about not including a Read Me, I thought there was. I guess that's what I get for assuming.

To start using flagRSP, either click the icon for it, which looks like a scroll, by your minimap, or type /rsp edit. Doing either of those things will bring up the Friendlist frame. There'll be three tabs to the side of the Friendlist frame: the first is the Friendlist, the second is the description editor, and the third is the configuration frame. The description editor allows you to set a Given Name, which will precede your charachter's name, a Surname, a title, and finally a description. These will all be viewable by other players with the AddOn or a compatible one. In the upper right hand corner of the description frame, is an arrow that will change the page and allow you to set your roleplaying style and character status.

Whether other players have an RP AddOn or not, you can add them to your Friendlist using the Friendlist tab. There's a couple of ways to do this, click on them, open the Friendlist, then click Add; open the Friendlist, click add, then type their name in; or type /add name. This name has to be the player's name that you'd see in the target frame and not anything they may have set their first name to. You can also set notes about individual players in the Friendlist so that if you've learned anything about them while roleplaying with them, you can add it there so that you don't forget.

The configuration frame allows you to change the settings of flagRSP BC. It loads with most of them turned off, but you can play around with them and see if you can set them up to how you like.

If I wasn't clear about anything, let me know and I'll elaborate.
