ItemRack 2 is out of beta! Thanks to everyone for using this, helping to make it better and most of all your patience.

This "Plugin-Ins & Patches" version of the mod is being depreciated as 2.x becomes the primary version of the mod. The official version of ItemRack is at:

http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4148.html

2.2 and future versions will be posted there.

This 2.16 version will remain for some time mostly to keep comments, but please post new comments on the primary link above.

Thanks!

I have a save durability (partially nude) set that I hit when I know there's a wipe or I know that I will die. When I try to re-equip, it always gets stuck that the point of equipping my 2Her and leaves my ranged weapon in my bag.

I'm reverting back to the old outdated ItemRack as it has not given me any trouble and the lag it causes is only for the split second that I swap sets.

I have posted your work on Curse.com

Since I love this mod and could not image being a druid with out it. And understanding the frustration of managing mods I Reposted Item rack to the curse.com website. So that their updater can help you now I only have the older version on but I will post the new 2.1e for the rest of you if you wish to use this route. Its a fan posting will full credit to Ath an Gell as I am retarted when it comes to making these things.

I cant select my 'Seidene Gewandung des erbarmungslosen Gladiators' (DE) (Merciless Gladiator's Silk Raiment (EN)) via the character window. It just doesn't appear there.

I use the 2.1e version.

Yes, it's that lame "not quite a developer" person with a TOC update. This update is ONLY for those who care about having "out-of-date" addons. The changes are as follows:
  • Updated interface to 20400 on ItemRack.toc and ItemRackOptions.toc
  • Updated in-game version on ItemRack.xml
Available at:

A workaround for the binding is to hold your modifier down BEFORE you click the "Bind" button, then hit it and bind whatever key you want. For me, at least, it saves the modifier with the keypress.

Key-binding could use a tweak, currently it's impossible to add something like SHIFT-2 without hacking the bindings directly out of game.

unless I'm missing something.??

I've been noticing a delay that builds up when I mouse over the itemrack Slot buttons, either in the Character SHeet, or the 3 I have on screen.

Request for Functionality

I do have a request, though.

The old ItemRack had the ability to save, with each set, whether you wanted the head and back slots visibility set or not in the Interface options. You could also set it so that it didn't change it (rather like the slot settings).

Can this functionality be reinstated?

2.4 PTR notes basically say that unique-equipped gems (mainly, the Heroic drops) will no longer be so. That should fix this issue (unless someone really has two sets that use the same unique-equipped ring, but in different slots, but if that's the case they should just harmonize the sets).

Long-term, yes, Blizzard has stated a desire to build an ItemRack/Outfitter type service. Were I to guess, I'd bet this is on the plan for WotLK but will be pushed out due to time constraints, and introduced in a 3.2 or 3.3 (much like the Guild Bank).

The more I think about this, the more I'm convinced that there is no bulletproof solution to this problem that doesn't involve swapping items out to bags before equipping items from the new set. It's possible (although unlikely) that you have unique-equipped gems in your sets such that no swap order will be guaranteed to work. In such a case, you would have to have space in your bags to perform the set swap.

I don't feel confident enough hacking ItemRack code to try to make such a significant change for such a relatively small problem. Also, I've heard a rumour that Blizzard may be making some of the crafted gems that fall into this category non-unique-equipped come the next patch (or maybe come WotLK). Of course, they also say they will be including their own ItemRack function in WotLK, so all bets may be off.

Bearing this in mind, you may want to consider whether you want to include my hack. It's up to you.

They're based on 2.1d

I should point out that I am aware that this code is not a foolproof way to avoid the problem with unique-equipped gems. All it does is look through your "set to equip" items in order and check if there are any of the same socketed gems later on in the slot order in your "already equipped set" and then swap the order.

For example, if it finds a the same gem in slot 8 that you already have in slot 3, it will swap out slot 8 before slot 3. It runs through your "set to equip" once performing this check. This is definitely not a complete fix, but it does work as long as your sets aren't full of unique-equipped gems.

To be honest, I couldn't get my head around working out a bulletproof solution, so I just came up with a rough and ready one.

I sure hope this doesn't die out.

You know it would be great if the item Queues could be linked to a set. so for example, my PvP set could Queue these trinkets, and my main PvE set could do those, etc...
