Lanacan’s UI   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
I start school 8/27/2009 and I need to focus on that more than playing WoW - Updating of this UI is now put on hold. Thank you for all the support and downloads!!

I am currently playing with my Rogue UI here: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...nsRogueUI.html and have been keeping it up to date.

Please see change log for update notes!!
Pictures sometimes show more addons that what come in package.

Please note, due to a job change and RL issues I do not play WoW often, just never have time for it. I do however still like to work on my UI and design different looks for it when I do have time to play. I will do my best to update and improve my UI even though I do not play much.

**NOTE***
This package is design to be played as is, if you want to change things in any of the addons you need to do the following:

1) Learn what each addon does by either taking 5 minutes to open up the addon folder and read the toc and lua files or looking up the addon here on WoWInterface or Curse.
2) Learn a little bit of LUA cod and edit the files your self.
3) Be happy in the fact that you learned something new that day. I'm still learning how to code addons myself.
4) Ask questions if you get stuck from the authors of that specific mod not me. If it is one of my addons (i.e. !SimpleAddons is the only one that is mine) I will do my best to answer it.

As I have stated above I have limited time to spend on this or even play. I can't hold your hand and walk you through how to recode what I put in place or what other authors wrote in their addons. Sorry

Thank you all for the kind words and all the downloads!

Please post comments below if you find anything wrong or have ideas for changes!

Resolution and Scaling

Resolution: 1680x1050
UI Scale: .70

INSTALLATION

1. Delete your old Interface and WTF folder in your World of Warcraft folder (or rename them).
2. Copy the folders WTF and Interface from the zip file to your World of Warcraft folder.
3. Open the WTF-folder and rename YOURACCOUNTNAME in your accountname, YOURSERVER in your servername and YOURCHARACTERNAME into the name of youchar.

[Description]

There are a lot of great addons out there that you can create great looking and functional UI’s to play WoW with. I was constantly changing mine over and over again to different looks to try to get the best balance between form and function. Over time I was adding more and more addons. After a few years I decided that for me less equals more. I realized that I hardly used half the addons I had and they were just “Fluff” for the most part.

I've still strive to keep things minimal, with not a lot configuration involved so
that this compilation can be a general drop and go set up. I hate spending time setting things up when I have so little time to play.

If any mod authors do not want their mod contained in my UI Compilation please PM me here to let me know.

  Change Log - Lanacan’s UI
==20090806==
3.02 Update A few things might be off but everything should be working as it should.
A few addon changes/removals

==20090722==
Changed Filger (if you don't play a Paladin it probably won't look like it does in the pictures... I didn't fix it for other classes that i don't play Sorry.)
Changed Button Texture (Still had drop shadow)
A lot of the addons with a bar texture point to !LanSettings again.

==20090707==
Many changes...
I only play my Paladin now (Holy Spec FTW!! WEEE!!!) so this UI is built around that.

I use BindPad more now so a number of my keybindings are set to that.

==20090703b==
Removed nBuff and added rBuff per Neal's Licensing Changes and verified it works as I wanted.
Added the ability to set sticky chat channels in the !SimpleAddons/Chat.lua file

==20090624==
Corrected Party Frame issue, they should show up now, SORRY ABOUT THAT!!!!

==20090624==
Now with bordered goodness!

==20090615==

-- Moved some simple addons into the !SimpleAddons Folder
-- Removed a lot of the extra addons and just have the core ones I use on m Shaman, Death Knight, and Paladin.

3.2....

Just an FYI:

Whenever that does come I will be removing a few of the mods from this package as they will have been incorporated into the default UI.

I found the solution.... it's the coords in the Minimap...

I noticed that it was my Mini map (for me) causing the issue. So i disabled parts of it to see what exactly it was and it's the Coords...

For a temp fix put a "#" in front of the line "Coords.lua" in the lanMinimap.toc file.

Edit here is my fix: (you only need to do this is you have the video studder... next version I will remove the coords and just make this one available in the package no eta on that though sorry).

Not pretty but it works....

DL Lyn Location here: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...nLocation.html

Open up the lua file and replace it with this code i modified to make the coords show in the minimap like before:

Code:
local addon = CreateFrame("Frame", nil, UIParent)
-- frame
local frame_anchor = "BOTTOMRIGHT"
local frame_x = -4
local frame_y = 4
-- font
local font = "Fonts\\ARIALN.ttf"
local size = 16
local outline = true
local shadow = false
local classcolors = true -- true/false - if false, it uses "color" (2 line below)
local class = RAID_CLASS_COLORS[select(2, UnitClass("player"))] -- dont change
local color = { r=0, g=0.8, b=1 }
local text_anchor = "BOTTOMRIGHT"
-- used locals

local x, y, text, zone
-- new
function addon:new()
	-- frame position
	self:SetPoint(frame_anchor, Minimap, frame_anchor, frame_x, frame_y)
	self:SetWidth(200)
	self:SetHeight(20)
	-- create fontstring
	text = self:CreateFontString(nil, "OVERLAY")
	-- text style
	if outline == true then
		text:SetFont(font, size, "OUTLINE")
	else
		text:SetFont(font, size, nil)
	end
	if classcolors == true then
		text:SetTextColor(class.r, class.g, class.b)
	else
		text:SetTextColor(color.r, color.g, color.b)
	end
	if shadow == true then
		text:SetShadowOffset(1, -1)
	else
		text:SetShadowOffset(0, 0)
	end
    text:SetJustifyH("RIGHT")
	text:SetPoint(text_anchor, self)

	self:RegisterEvent("ZONE_CHANGED_NEW_AREA")

	-- update
	self:SetScript("OnUpdate", self.update)
	self:SetScript("OnEvent", self.event)
end
function addon:event()
	if (event == "ZONE_CHANGED_NEW_AREA") then
		SetMapToCurrentZone()
	end
end
-- update function
function addon:update()
	-- get zone map
	zone = GetMinimapZoneText()
	zone = "|c00ffffff"..zone.."|r"
	-- get player x,y
	x, y = GetPlayerMapPosition("player")
	-- if x and y 0 then boo
	if(x == 0 and y == 0) then
		coords = "";
	else
		coords = " "..format("%.2d.%.2d",x*100,y*100)
	end
	-- set it
	text:SetText(coords)
end
-- fire
addon:new()

I tried it again this morning (since my eyes were working better ) with just the base package you can DL installed and I still don't have the issue. Then again it could be two addons not playing well together where it's one of the default package addons causing the problem when other addons are installed.

If I get out of work earlier than expected tonight I will start to add the other addons I normally use but don't keep in the package when I upload it to see what happens.

Edit a friend just emailed me after seeing these comments and said to check to see if in the interface video options "Reduce Input Lag" and "enabling vsync " is checked. This stopped his ground stutter he had. He only used the default UI with a few raid addons so not sure if that will help you (or me).

Doing a search If you have a high end system (or vid card) and "Reduce Input Lag" is checked you should uncheck it...

Here is a quote from the wow forums on a solution one person had:

Quote:
I was running WinXP pro and never had the stuttering problem. But when I upgraded to Vista it reared its ugly head.

The main way you can test this problem is make sure you have v-sync enabled and quickly turn your character while standing in place. It may take one or 2 tries but you will see him not turn smoothly sometimes. He will just Jerk in the direction you are going instead of a smooth turn.

Enabling "Reduce Input Lag" fixes this but then again I take about a -20fps dive and that really bugs me.

Another thing I noticed if you enable windowed mode and pick the option for maximize to fullscreen the problem doesnt happen either thats with reduce input lag disabled, but then again another big fps dive
for this work around expecially in large character battles.

Third semi fix for this is to disable vsync but that makes he game run not as smooth and then you also get tearing but hey you get great fps (I guess).

A good place to test all these setting is by the shattrath flight master were all the guards are fighting and sparing each other. I find that is a good place to bechmark various warcraft settings because I consider that location extreme settings ex.BG's or Raids.

The difference is that I do have Questhelper, TomTom, Tourguide, Pallipower, and a few other addons running for leveling/doing old quests for achievements... I think it's happening from an addon outside of this package. Just need to figure our which one .

I"m still looking into this, but i'm too tired at the moment to debug anymore.

Are you running any other addons besides what was in my package?

Are they removed or just disabled if you are?

Isnt your filger setup by class? shouldnt have any use of profiles afaik or am i misunderstanding your issue?

I set mine up one time, sure it's some editing in lua to get all your spells in there but it's a one time job.

No when you start a new character the Filger position is reset. There it doesn't' save across character. (i.e. I install this compilation for the first time using my palli and get Filger where I want it. Then log into my Shaman and i have to position Filger again. ect per character until all are set. Trust me not my favorite thing to do either )

I have so many alts that Filger is a bit of a pain to configure for each of them but that's a small beef I simply have with that particular addon.

Do you know if there's a way to make a "profile" for it or if I just copy one to other character's folders, will it work for them also?
