Latest version always available at (developer version):

DrDamage displays the calculated, average damage or healing of abilities with talents, gear and buffs included on your actionbar buttons. The addon will also add various information to the default tooltips in your spellbook and on the actionbar.

Slash Commands:

/drdamage or /drdmg

Current features:
  • Supports all classes
  • Actionbar addons supported: Default, Bartender 3&4, Bongos 2&3, CT_BarMod, DAB, Nurfed AB, CogsBar, InfiniBar, FlexBar2, TrinityBar 1&2, idActionBar and IPopBar.
  • Places a text with metric of your choosing on the actionbar buttons
  • Different damage and healing statistics from tooltips on the actionbar and in the spellbook. This includes for example crit %, spell damage and damage coefficients, averages (w/ or w/o crits/DoTs), DPS, DPSC (damage per seconds cast), damage until OOM and more!
  • Includes your buffs and the target debuffs in calculations

More information about functionality:
  • Uses mostly default WoW API to retrieve your stats, keeping tooltip scanning to a minimum
  • Uses the same Adaptable damage/healing calculation engine used for all the calculations
  • Easy table design to add/modify talent effects, spells and buffs/debuffs
  • Allows manual modification of the essential base stats used to calculate (you can test how much that +n spelldamage or healing would increase your spells different calculated values)
  Change Log - DrDamage
[*]MAIN FEATURE: You can now manually add buffs/debuffs/consumables to always include into the calculations. Mostly they should not double stack if they are really applied.[*]Added stat comparison to tooltips. Allows you to compare +dmg/heal, haste rating, crit rating and hit rating with eachother[*]Added Bartender4 support[*]Fixed Rake being affected by mitigation[*]Performance optimizations[*]Whirlwind calculation now properly includes 4 off-hand hits[*]Bug fixes to melee and caster module hit calculation options[*]Tooltip haste needed for +1% DPS is now based on current DPS and not base DPS[*]AvgHit/AvgHitTotal options for caster module now display a single hit damage for multihit abilities like drain life and holy shield[*]Bug fix to casts left[*]Added possible hit and crit bonuses when converting white melee to yellow melee in next melee type abilities[*]Fixed possible error message related to windfury[*]Added amount of hits into total damage calculation of Seal of Blood[*]Updated Babble-Inventory-2.2 to LibBabbleInventory-3.0[*]Fixed Pounce Scaling[*]Fixed multiple mortal strike type effects stacking into -heal calculation[*]Fixed DPS calculation for channeled spells[*]Fixed chain heal/chain lightning chain calculation[*]Corrected Holy Shock damage values to 2.4[*]Added Soul Siphon effects back[*]Changed the text fontstring from its own frame into the actionbar button frame[*]No longer needs #showtooltip for macro detection[*]Cast sequence macros should now update when the spell changes

Try r=1, g=1, b=1

The integration of damage values into the tooltips would require tooltip parsing code and is outside the intended goal for the addon.
Perfectly understandable. A little setback to my eyes isn't enough for you to need to change the scope of your addon. As for the casts left on damage spells, I find it useful when I'm using particular spells (arcane blast) whose mana cost fluctuates, to allow myself some warning that I'm within a certain amount of spellcasts, etc. It also helps somewhat in knowing how my spells (I'm a elemental-spec mage, so I use nearly every spell in my spellbook to an extent) interact with each other in terms of mana cost. It's nothing terribly important, it's just something nice to have for mana conservation.

One last thing... I did just notice that there is no notice on evocation as to how much mana is regenerated while using it. Any chance of that? I'm a needly little bugger, I know. ;>>

Heh... Whether you look into my suggestions or not, thanks for coding this addon. I'll be using it for some time into the future.

Then again, I could be missing where they are if they're in. If I am, please tell me.

Well, it's a different approach to the same thing. For starters this is (at least for now) only intended for spellcasters. The design is quite different from TheoryCraft. The point is to reduce bloat and only have the crucial information. Instead of relying on reading tooltips for everything, it has a lightweight database for the stuff we want to include which allows it to work better in different locales without needing huge localization (nearly everything is done via BabbleSpell). I'm not too familiar with the TheoryCraft code but, from the glances I've seen I'd say DrDamage is easier to maintain. Also, in my opinion the strongest point compared to TheoryCraft is using the new API calls to get spell damage/heal, stats, crit % from intelligence and mana regeneration. This wont need a script to scan through all items and sum up the bonuses (which can easily leave some bonuses unaccounted for). This should improve performance and accuracy. And for now, since I started this project at the brink of TBC, nearly all talent and spell information should be up-to-date allowing higher calculation accuracy.

On the other hand TheoryCraft has a larger amount of features (including comparing item sets, DrDamage only allows manual setting of damage variables to compare changes). It's also compatible with melee and hunters so it'll serve a wider range of players.

So all in all DrDamage isn't meant to replace TheoryCraft.. Just to function as a hopefully lighter alternative to the old favorite.

Alright.. AceOO-2.0 library isn't required for DrDamage but apparently is a dependency for one of the libs. You aren't probably using any other addon that provides this library in question. I'll add it to the next version.

*EDIT*

If you don't want to wait for that you should get the standalone version of Ace2 libs from http://files.wowace.com/Ace2/Ace2.zip and extract into Addons folder

Would you hate me if i asked if/where I can change the font color of the dmg text on the icons to white and not yellow??

The average damage on the actionbar includes the average crit damage bonus. You can turn this off in the options.

There isn't an option to change the text color yet. You'd have to do it in the code. But I could add an option to change it eventually.

Hi there,

this one is very nice. Even a bit more than Theorycraft 2
But its a pitty that it does not work with Hunters. I even get error messages when using this with my hunter.

Kind regards

One more thing this addon ROX! Im using it with bartender3 and work great and also with learn2count, now i have all info at my buttons i ever wanted! and i can trun off spelltips(buttontips) carelessly thanks to Your incredible mod :-)

small, simple and useful keep the good work THANKS again

It's true that the name can be a bit misleading. When it was given its name it was only for warlocks and planned to be expanded only to mages but the project grew a bit... But I think I'll let the name remain as it is.
