LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v70100-1.0.0-2016-10-26
by: Cladhaire [More]

The last date of comment parsing is now part of the addon's filename.

Includes over 166,198 comments for more than 15,560 quests

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Fix LH waypoint set integration

- We now are able to properly reverse WowHead mapFileIds to the in-game
areaIds, so waypoints should be set in the correct zone.
- We don't know how to set a waypoint in an instanced zone, so we just
put those in the current zone
- Integration with MapNotes, Cartographer and friends always set in the
current zone.

you should be aware there are still quite a few dud quests in the old world that blizzard didn't fully take out, the quest shells are there, but they can never be completed because blizzard removed the objectives (and or mob / boss) required to complete the quest. They've said some where or other that in some upcoming hotfix's they will be addressing these dud quests..(there are quite a few of them around) and fully removing them. I think they where in a rush to get this latest build on live ready for the 7th.

As of patch 4.0.3 I am seeing nothing in the lightheaded window, just a big black field.

I have tried updating lightheaded from this site, I have also turned off every addon except lightheaded and still no luck.

No, because the Carbonite code is 100% impossible to read. LightHeaded changes the default quest log, by adding its own frame and that is all it does. If there's an issue with LH/Carbonite integration, that needs to be reported to the Carbonite authors.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but if you've ever looked at the Carbonite code.. you'd understand.

In combination with Carbonite I get a very small quest log in the lower left corner when opening the log from Carbonite. Carbonite's own log wont open then.
Without LightHeaded Carbonite is functioning fine.

Can you look into this please?

Coordinates when clicking 'blue' npc names

Used to be, or at least I remember, that in the quest description, when you clicked on an npc's name it would give you said npc's coordinates. Now, when I click on the npc's name, it just says 'unknown etc etc...'

Is this a known bug? Or just me?

Current EveryQuest alpha version has either r91 or r92 of LibQuixote-2.0 and works with LH.

Unfortunately this is a bit of a red herring. As you load more LH modules, of course the FPS is going to drop, the data being iterated gets much larger, as can be seen by the memory consumption. This is 100% to be expected.

What isn't is the race condition that LibQuixote is causing in EveryQuest and any other addon that uses LibQuixote. This has been fixed in an alpha version on WowAce, as indicated by a user a few comments below.

If I may.

I went and disabled everything but LightHeaded. This produced no drop in FPS. On a hunch, I enabled EveryQuest first, and when bringing up the quest
log with both enabled, it produced the drop in framerate. Further experimenting resulted in a further drop in FPS as I enabled more LightHeaded modules until I
had 6 FPS with all modules.....a drop from 105 FPS sitting in Stormwind. These results did not change as I enabled different EQ modules...base addon or
everything, it didn't matter. FPS drop only varied as I enabled more or less LightHeaded.

The odd thing is, it's happening on an 80 I'm doing Loremaster on, but not a lower level alt. As I have more time, I'll try it on some other 80's I have, and
maybe a mid-level character too.

You are 100% missing the point.

I asked you to do one simple thing. I asked you to momentarily disable all of your other addons and see if you can reproduce the issue. You will not be able to, there is no race condition when LightHeaded is the only addon installed.

The problem is a conflict with another addon, almost certainly one that includes LibQuixote.

If you're not interested in troubleshooting, then I cannot do anything for you. I am a very accommodating developer, but you are being purposely difficult. You clearly do not understand the problem, and aren't interested in working with me to find resolution.

Now perhaps you can explain to me how I can magically fix a problem that I already have a solution for, but can't give you specific steps to resolve it because you will not do the one single step I have requested of you.

Now you're just wasting my time.

I never once said you had to disable all of your addons in perpetuity. I asked you to do it temporarily for troubleshooting, to prove to you that this is an issue with a interaction with another addon.

It seems to me that you don't want my help, which I'm more than happy to provide.

Feel free to stop using LightHeaded, as that seems to solve your issues. I've given you alternatives, but you're not willing to work with me.

Also, it's not like this exact issue has happened in the immediate past. Read down five comments and find another user that had precisely the same issue, and resolved it by updating the offending library which has NOTHING to do with LightHeaded.

But I just wrote the addon and know it in and out.. what would I know?

I am getting spammed with Lightheaded info in my General chat window.
Its about Storing and Retreiving QID Offsets.
Debug is already turned off in the LH menu.
How can I turn this spam off?

Edit: Ok I restarted the game and now its better.

And you still haven't confirmed that you have disabled every single addon. I ask very little here.
