LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v70100-1.0.0-2016-10-26
by: Cladhaire [More]

The last date of comment parsing is now part of the addon's filename.

Includes over 166,198 comments for more than 15,560 quests

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Fix LH waypoint set integration

- We now are able to properly reverse WowHead mapFileIds to the in-game
areaIds, so waypoints should be set in the correct zone.
- We don't know how to set a waypoint in an instanced zone, so we just
put those in the current zone
- Integration with MapNotes, Cartographer and friends always set in the
current zone.

You need to provide some more information.

Have you disabled all other addons and tested? Are the options showing up in-game? etc. I can't troubleshoot the issue for you, and the addon continues to work for the majority of my users =).

Lighthead not showing since the new patch

I love lightheaded and use it all the time. But I have not been able to get lightheaded to work in WoW since the new patch eariler this week. I even deleted what I had and re-downloaded it. What can I do to get it to work? I can't find anything with the directions given in the quests themselvs. HELP.

Nothing for me to fix. You need to talk to the author of QuestHelper. They are responsible for the integration with LightHeaded.

Problem with QuestGuru 1,2

Hi,

first i want to say, i like LightHeaded very much. It is a great addon.
I am using LightHeaded and QuestGuru.
Both were working fine together.
But when i use QuestGuru 1.2 with LightHeaded, there are problems.
When i click on a quest, LightHeaded shows everytime the informations of the first quest in the quest list and not the informations of the quest i selected.
Can you please fix this?

Thanks Larry

No idea. Simple test is to disable the other addons (other than LightHeaded) and see if it works with the default quest log.

Question

Hello, been using LightHeaded for the longest time and with any questlog mod I used, it would snap on to the side perfectly.

Since Blizzard has now updated their questlog, LightHeaded snaps on to Blizzards questlog perfectly but doesn't snap on to the side of other questlog mods like it used to.

Is there any way that you could add functionality to change the distance away from the side / distance from the top manually?

Like have some kind of options menu inside the side bar that we would click and then perhaps two slide bars. One for left and right the other for up and down.

The default position you set could be where the slide bar defaults are and then allow us to manually position the thing to sit neatly on to our quest log again.

Would appreciate if you could do this or even if you could get the addon to snap nicely to the side of QuestGuru again.

Many thanks. Great addon.

Ok, is there any certain way to write the coords?

Do you have any plans to incorporate the new QueryQuestsCompleted() into lightheaded? I would love to see a list of quests filtered against completed quests for rep grind purposes, achievements, etc.

If not, I may try my hand at an add-on to utilize the lightheaded info for this purpose as I can see infinite use to a list of quests(and mobs that start it) that I have not completed that award Kurenei rep, or which I have left to do to get my 125 quests in Ice Crown.

Again, I love this add-on, thank you!
It would be quite a huge undertaking to do something like that, but then again I'm also probably one of the best people to do it since I already have the comprehensive database of quest information. I don't know, to be completely honest. It would be a lot of work and time isn't something I have a lot of right now. Am I interested, yes.

How could I possibly even begin to do this? I don't have access to the LightHeaded database!

Also there is alot of comments that look fugly cause they have all the html text stuff... check out the pic to know what im talking about...

... Once again awesome mod keep up the great work.
That's an issue that's a bit easier to solve.. but there's no simple solution to it. I cut out lots of necessary stuff to get rid of those that have the 'html'ish codes. I could cut out some of the codes and probably make decent headway, but I actually already do that.
